geeez: And these are the reasons why Nissan is opening an assembly plant in Lagos and not Abuja? |
Luke 11: 27-28 27 ¶ And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!" 28 But He said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!" I hope this helps. God is more interested in you believing the Word of God and obeying it than in Mary related issues. |
What amazes me with all this talk about Ngige, is that all his achievements were done when he was in PDP. Did u hear Ngige boast about his achievements in the Senate. If all these APC guys can tell me what Ngige has achieved since he joined ACN and APC, then we would know who is being sentimental. Am surprised that PDP folks could not use this fact in their campaigns |
Littlehooper: ANAMBRA CITIZENS, DON'T BE ANGRY. APC(YORUBA ) WON'T TAKE OVER YOUR LAND... NGIGE IS STILL YOUR SON,VOTE FOR HIM N LET HIM SHOW ANAMBRA PAST GOVERNORS HOW TO RUN A GOOD GOVERNMENT....What amazes me with all this talk about Ngige, is that all his achievements were done when he was in PDP. Did u hear Ngige boast about his achievements in the Senate. If all these APC guys can tell me what Ngige has achieved since he joined ACN and APC, then we would know who is being sentimental. berem: I just watched TVC Channels news and its obvious PDP did everything possible to win this election. The chairman of Anaocha LG Mr Okoli was said to be giving gullible anambrans N1,000 and N2,000 to vote for PDP. He even collected the voter cards of some old women and tampered with them thereby making the cards invalid. What a shame by PDP! No wonder they have high votes in some units.Pls stop lying. We have no LG chairman in Anambra State, only transitional Chairman appointed by Peter Obi (APGA). So how does PDP come into the matter. Its just a simple case of bad journalism. And some of you wondering why PDP is doing so well, i will tell you the truth: (1) The main/richest politicians in Anambra state are PDP members. (2) PDP still owns a larger part of the political structure of Anambra state and (3) A major church is backing PDP. |
prof.femi:Not necessary, say ur mind if you wish to. I am not ashamed of where i am currently. I stayed in an academic environment for a long time, so am conversant with all that stuff. Who is to enforce compliance by lecturers? Is it not ASUU members? Do you expect GEJ to come to every uni and enforce? So as you can see ASUU, is a major player in the infrastructure decay. |
prof.femi:I believe that you should be able to deduce where i fall into. Can you be re-roofing a house when the foundation is faulty? Any huge investment in unis will not produce fruit, because our foundation (primary and secondary schools) is faulty. I think its a waste of money on unproductive FG unis when millions of nigerian children are not in school. |
prof.femi:Tell me the fees you paid and the quality of education you received, then you will be able to know if (1) ASUU is fighting for students or being selfish and (2) Money/Infrastructure is the problem with our universities or Lack of passion/committment for teaching by our Lecturers. I think what ASUU has not been telling nigerians is that investment in education is a long term investment and unis abroad being referred to are over 200yrs old. If private unis with high school fees have not caught up with the likes of oxford, does it not tell you ASUU that manages FG unis will not also go far if the money is given to them. ASUU should be honest. Personally i dont see any difference between ASUU, NITEL AND PHCN workers. They all caused nigerians hardship and became irrelevant with time. ASUU is next on the line. |
vivacious vivi: Thank you sir!The problem we have in this country is that we blame govt for every problem we are faced with. I tell you that if most of the lecturers were GEJ, they will do the same or even worse than what he is doing. If you think that you not being paid enough, resign and contest for election. It is not by force for you to teach. There is high unemployment in the country and retirement age of profs was increased to 70 years and ASUU did not see anything wrong with it. God help us |
prof.femi:How much did you pay as school fees during ur own time in the uni? And your now expecting others to pay differently. If you did not see anything wrong with paying cheap school fees then, then there is nothing wrong with students being comfortable with the current school fees. As you can see GEJ has been too lenient on ASUU. |
texazzpete: And how exactly is the VC supposed to 'protect the interest of the students' to your satisfaction? By offering to teach all the courses himself? By going on hunger strike? By engaging in fisticuffs with the ASUU members?FG is being very lenient on ASUU. If students protest for their rights in campus (like for good hostels, hike in school fees: i know a VC that almost chased all students away from the school hostel because they demanded for better service) , you are either threatened, suspended or expelled without fair hearing, whereas FG is negotiating with them for striking for their rights. Have u ever seen ASUU go on strike against FG because school fees was increased? |
texazzpete: And how exactly is the VC supposed to 'protect the interest of the students' to your satisfaction? By offering to teach all the courses himself? By going on hunger strike? By engaging in fisticuffs with the ASUU members?FG implementing the said agreement would not stop future ASUU strike. Man is insatiable. They recently asked for retirement age of profs to be raised and it was done, few months later another flimsy strike. That GEJ agreed to implement an agreement does not mean the next President will do the same. Just like Imo state governor that said he wants to start new universities in the state, Our states currently cannot run universities because, they find it hard to pay minimum wage. i pity the governor that will come after him. I forsee what happened to NITEL and PHCN, happening to FG universities. Let me ask you, who is to blame for the faliure of NITEL and PHCN? |
kaka22: Guy, stop wallowing in ignorance(no offence)... VC is not part of ASUU. Once a lecturer becomes the VC, the lecturer ceases to be part of ASUU as long as he holds the office of VC...Any action that ASUU takes as a body will be as a result of an agreement in ASUU's meeting independently of the VC...Just listen to yourself carefully. until VCs come out to protect the interest of students which is their right to education, nobody can convince me that VCs are not members of ASUU. I hope you did not forget that benefits accrue to VCs in said agreement that ASUU wants FG to implement. From a business point of view, it is a waste of resources pumping money in universities, cos they do not generate enough income that can sustain them talkless of profit. ASUU wants to get paid like their counterparts abroad, yet no patent to show, talkless of viable patents. ASUU's main issue is character crises. If a Civil engineering lecturer cannot take his students to an ongoing road construction site in campus and explain that part of the course, no amount of money given by the FG will do that, this applies to other lecturers. FG does not owe anybody sponsorship of any university. |
RuuDie: Oh really...!?They are not applying for positions because they were never passionate about teaching in the first place. Passion will sustain you when money does not come as expected. |
otokx: @ig.chukaFor example, Unizik did not go on strike for many years because the VC at that time pulled the school out of ASUU (through out his tenure there was no strike, up to three years after he left). Unizik grew tremedously as a university during those strikeless period, those who the university can attest to this fact. Unizik is currently on strike because the current VC allowed the school to join ASUU once again, against popular opinion. I wonder how a VC will not support a cause he will benefit from. It takes a VC who has a vision for the university to do otherwise. |
texazzpete: https://mrwgifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Now-Comes-The-Part-Where-We-Throw-Our-Heads-Back-In-Laughter-In-George-Of-The-Jungle.gifThat he became a VC, did not change his membership of ASUU. He can only act neutral on issues between FG and ASUU. I can tell u authoritatively that no university can go on strike without the support of the VC. Let me say it loud and clear, the VC and Minister of Education were members of ASUU and still are, they is why they cannot protect government's interest. |
texazzpete: he is the 'most sincere Lecturer' and his words are the 'simple truth' because he says something you agree with?As if the VC is not a member of ASUU. Those funds are better spent on secondary and primary schools. How many people attend universities. We just have a good number of Lecturers trying to blame FG for their inability to properly manage what was committed into their hands. Just like in the Bible, some hide their talent instead using it to produce more. If i was the president, i would:- (1) Make sure the next Minister of Education is not from the University. (2) Hire good inspectors to generate the funds from ASUU themselves. (3) Privatise 50% of Federal Government owned institutions. FG should not own more than 12 Universities, 6 Polytechnics and 6 Colleges of Education. |
prof.femi:You are wrong if u think that being the best in class means being a good lecturer. If you dont have the passion for your work, you cant be the best. when the missionaires were in nigeria, they produced great minds with little or no infrastructure. so the emphasis should be on recruiting good and passionate lecturers. |
wallex1983: Kudos Prof. You are the most sincere Lecturer, i have come across in recent times. Thank you for saying the simple truth. |
Is anyone on Eu/Gu buy (Long term)? |
saintneo: EKE NEKWA ONYE UKA ~ PYTHON, CHRISTIAN HEREPls be specific about the place in anambra cos its not so in my place. Dont generalize it |
Gboliwe: The Rev. acted on impulse. He is actually a strong man to have been able to kill a snake by himself. I mean, compared to me, I would have screamed to high heavens. As you can see, the god has no powers thats why they are fighting for it. Just like Elijah and the prophets of baal. |
Lilimax: I come from Anambra state and in Anambra state, they don't kill PYTHON to be precise.Dont bring the whole of anambra into this, it is not generally. I am from anambra, if i was the pastor, i will do the same thing. Just like in awka where monkeys are not killed, but they cause a lot of trouble. I know some estates where the monkeys are shot at and nothing happens. So quit that wrong mentality. |
callydon: If u had any single sense,u wud av known dat Ifeanyi Ubah is into oil importation which has to do wit d water ways. infact there's no other place dat company can be sited in Nigeria apart 4rm dat Lagos. and to show he stil has Anambra pple at heart he still gave out free fuel to okada n bus drivers. and is currently selling kero at d cheapest rate in whole country.Free fuel or kerosine is nonsense, why cant he built industries if he truly cares. He should go and do his home work. As far as i am concerned, if you are a business man and you dont have any substancial investment in anambra, you are not qualify to run for election. |
Kirinwa: In life we choose to believe what we want to believe. The problem with nigeria is that we encourage use of certificates instead of creativity. That is why the number of expatriates will keep increasing. Go to ph refinery and see the number of foreigners without university education heading 1st class, masters and phd holders. As far as i am concerned secondary school education is the maximum u need if you know where you are going. University has little influence on character of individuals. Happy birthday to you onlineresource! |
First of all, going to lagos to show us ur investments is very wrong. It just means you dont have any investments in anambra to show us. By implication, he is going to invest anambra's money in lagos if he becomes governor. I dont take such businessmen serious. Charity begins at home. |
eko ilee: The hard facts = Your grammar suckss and your village is 100 years behind Lagos state.Pls focus on the issue and not on grammar. I dont need to be in lagos to become a billionaire. At least my village cannot boast of having slums, which even poor villagers will refuse to live in. |
eko ilee: Your post showed lack of historical knowledge regarding both places and you need to first educate yourself in that area before getting into any kind of conversation about both places.Pls enlighten me since you know it all. |
Afam4eva: Do you know how many years that that road has been under-construction? I won't be surprised if it remains like that till 2020.It really over hyped, if any body wants to be fooled, so be it. But for me, i look beyond propaganda, am looking at hard facts. |
abysirius: 1stly, d road u just mentioned is under construction. It's not just to construct roads that matter but to construct a lasting one like Isheri/Igando/Iyana Iba road. Road constructions are done depending on the type of vehicles known to be ploughing d road. D road that link Adeniyi Jones to Acme needs special attention. Heavy duty vehicles(60-80 tons) ploughing a road with no drainage yet with a swampy surface; such roads require special attention otherwise it won't be long before it's back to it's dilapidated state if done carelessly. Going forward, it is not far-fetched if we have a class of pple that believe Fashola is outstanding. Of course he is! I've been around for about 3 decades plus now yet I can't see one gov that has done better than BRF. Perhaps u've seen one, pls let me know. If there's a name that will make it difficult to tag BRF as d best gov Lag has ever had; may be Alhaji Lateef and u will agree with me it's been over 30yrs now. I understand everybdy cannot agree with this. Or those whose shops are closed because they're not law abiding hw do I expect them to feel about him? Okada men, Agbero, hawkers at computer village displayin their wares on d road, shop owners @ Ladipo, vagabonds, lawless pple etc. They all feel he's d worst we've got. What criteria did you use to judge him the best. For instance: Enugu: 3m people = 3b Lag: 18m people = 18b (plus 12b extra). My analogy is for those who like using population as an excuse. So you be the judge |
nochio: You people always pretend everything is alright in lagos, when some of us have not gone to other parts of the country, for the basis of comparism, lagos state roads are bad, simple, the few motorable ones are major roads and mostly dual federal roads, the ones that are constructed is taking too long to be fixed,so why do you always hide from the truth when it comes to lagos issues.I am not moved by media propangada, try and see for yourselves, move around and be objective in with your assesments.Dont mind them, many of them talking are not benefiting anything from what is happening there, there are slums i saw people living in, and i said that i had rather stay in my village than live there. All that glitters is not gold. Many of them are just suffering and smiling! |
Afam4evaIsASlut: Please, keep you comparisons within your community. Some people hate to be associated with filth.I am just trying to make a point, so dont get me wrong. Is lagos the only state that has been transformed? |
