Please show us a sign post showing that this project is been contracted by this Administration? I have my doubts since you have been proven to copy internet pictures and paste on this fora, many of the pictures you posted have no evidence showing where the projects are sited. Don't be too desperate to satisfy your pay masters, posterity will judge you sir.

I just hope very serious attention will be paid to landscaping to get this hospital to the proper ambiance it deserves.

I hate when expensive projects are completed without landscaping and the whole place looks dusty and shoddy. We must change the culture of poor finishing of projects. All these spaces around various buildings can be car parks with very beautiful flowers and trees planted in-between.
These are projects that even local governments can execute, look at two bungalows a state government is constructing and calling hospital, Why not allow the LGAs to fund and complete these projects by allowing them to be independent? You stifle them, thereby making them redundant and inefficient. I suppose these are health centers, which LGAs can comfortably build. Government at the state level should be thinking of constructing and equipping general hospitals and even teaching hospitals.

You are not from Anambra, stop hiding under fake moniker to attack Anambra. Anambra has a lot of projects in the pipeline and they will come to fruition in due time.
Then show us the projects, we are interested in knowing what our leaders do with the commonwealth of Anambrarians. Show us please! Awka for example has no master plan, no roadmap for development. All you see is isolated, privately built estates with no infrastructure. Nnewi is the same thing, potholes are everywhere, you will hardly know that we have a government when you visit Nnewi. Go to other towns and see for yourself. I remember that during the last election, other governorship candidates used the lack of infrastructural development against the current government and they promised to turn a new leaf if voted into power, but nothing much has changed.

Brotherly, the issue of wickedness does not arise here, we are talking about evidence based government, not propaganda infested administration. You cannot place Anambra and Osun on the same pedestal: do you know how much IGR Onitsha and Nnewi alone generate? Do you know the prospects that Anambra has judging by the number of capitalist minded individuals it has produced? A lot of them are willing to invest in the state of the needed infrastructures are provided but alas, we have myopic, self centered and rudderless people ruling is whose main preoccupation is to amass wealth that even their grandchildren may not exhaust.

Show us pictures of the purported airport flagged off 18months ago, we want to know the level it has gotten to. About a year ago, just before the state elections, this administration Flagged off electrification project to cover Ihiala, Ihembosi, Ukpor axis, but unfortunately after the election and inauguration, it has been abandoned! Give us tangible progress on the projects initiated not digitally enhanced pictures and billboards.

Oga,

The International airport is a $2 billion dollars PPP project. The total Anambra budget every year is about $400 million. So you'd prefer using the money for salaries and other infrastructural development to go int cargo airport? Yet, you have no cargo to import or export, but that is your main concern.

We need to create industrial estates powered by gas supplies to help more industries come into the state. We need to develop cattle ranches and to become self sufficient in beef and other animal protein. We need to build a light rail system to connect Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi and Ekwulobia to help the state achieve quick and cheap transportation of people, goods and services from one part of the state to another.

Yet, your major concern is completion of cargo airport just started less than 2 years ago and it's a PPP? Now you see why we smell mischief in some questions?
How much did the Jakson Hart Airport in Atlantic, Georgia, USA cost? 1.5billion dollars! And this is one of the most modern and largest airports in the world.
Coming back home, how much did the Dutse airport, Jigawa cost? 17 billion naira or about 50million dollars! And You are talking about 2billion dollars? We are not fools, stop insulting our intelligence please.

Dutse airport in Jigawa state was built by the former Governor Sule Lamido at the cost of N17 billion and commissioned in 2014. The airport was initially to be built at N11 billion but rose toN17 billion at completion.Jan 11, 2016

Rudderless, propaganda inclined government. All projects are finished and commissioned on billboards and television, but nothing on ground. It's most unfortunate that Anambrarians have been deceived once again. Most of the roads built by Ngige and Peter Obi are in a state of disrepair, yet nothing is been done about them. Please go to the major markets in Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi and Ekwulobia to see how people are forced to pay ridiculous and exorbitant taxes, levies, etc yet the monies cannot be used for the common good of the masses. As for madam speaker, posterity will judge you for deceiving and swindling your primary constituency! I pity the poor masses that elected you, and no wonder the executive is comfortable with you since you are just a rubber stamp assembly!

I don't understand what is wrong in asking about the state of the airport flagged off with so much fanfare and publicity? Please find below an excerpt from the governor's speech at the flag off and tell us if the person that asked an innocent question erred!
Indeed, the economic benefits of the Umueri Airport City Project are enormous. It is expected to generate 1,200 direct and 3600 indirect jobs. We expect that Ndi Anambra will grab 70% of these jobs in continuation of our efforts to create wealth and prosperity for our people. It will also provide an opportunity for training and skills transfer to our people. I have no doubts whatsoever that this project will have a tremendous impact on the ease of doing business in Anambra State as it opens a direct access by air to our vast markets. In particular, I hope that on completion, the Umueri Airport City Project will wipe out the difficulties our businessmen and women often encounter in exporting and importing goods and services and help in improving the entire supply chain.

Ladies and gentlemen, with this project and our subsequent plan for a light rail project, Anambra State will eventually assume its rightful place as a major commercial and industrial hub in the West African sub-region. As you are aware, my administration is intensely focused on building projects that have immense economic values. That is why we have concentrated efforts in building roads and bridges that either lead to industrial clusters or the oilfields or the agricultural belt of the state.

This Airport City Project follows the same trajectory. That is why we have established a strong synergy between Orient Petroleum Resources Plc and the Airport project with a view to operating an Aviation Fuel Segment that will attract both local and foreign airlines to refuel their aircraft in Umueri. This will no doubt open a new economic corridor for our beloved state as it is expected to stimulate growth in the oil and gas sector and multiply our revenue sources. It is my candid hope also that when this airport becomes operational, the world will have a direct and easy access to the vast tourism offerings of Ogbunike Cave and Ogbaukwu Caves and Waterfalls as well as the timeless archaeological treasures of Igboukwu!

PoliticsRe: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by ignatiusez: 2:35pm On Sep 02, 2018
Am surprised that people will embark on needless propaganda in a bid to score cheap political points. How can someone bandy digitally edited pictures of non existing projects just to satisfy there pay masters albeit to justify the pittance the collect. For your information, Anambra had not made any significant progress in terms of infrastructural development since the current administration came into power. This government promised to complete the only road started by Peter Obi in Ukpor, Nnewi south LGA during there campaign but unfortunately, that road seem abandoned for all who care to listen. Many roads in Anambra state are currently in a state of disrepair, due to reasons best known to the government. Ukpor in Nnewi south LGA has almost been cut off from the rest of the state due to non motorable roads, no electricity no water yet someone will be deceiving himself with digitally edited pictures. The Saint Paul's Junction to Umunuko road is so dilapidated that even motorcycles cannot ride through. This is a local government headquarters that we are talking of. Interestingly, the Speaker of ASHA is from Ukpor, yet she has nothing to show for been elected. So sad and unfortunate that Ukpor people are suffering under this administration. What has Obiano and madam speaker done for Ukpor?

May I appeal to EEDC (Enugu Electricity Distribution Company) to do something about the unfortunate light situation in Umuahia since the last couple of months, even though it seem to have become worse everyday. As I type, the whole of Umuahia is in darkness! Even when the light comes, it is usually a very low current that cannot power on electric gadgets like AC, Fridge, washing machine, etc.
unfortunately, they never forget to bring outrageous light bills even when there is no light. Most homes in Umuahia have no pre paid meters! This lives us at the mercy of EEDC who bring estimated bills.

PoliticsRe: Rundown Of Obiano's 4yrs In Govt: Why Tony Is The Perfect Replacement by ignatiusez: 4:10pm On Nov 06, 2017
iamstanc:
Obiano's Scorecard: Why Tony Nwoye is the Best Candidate

Ineptitude in government has been glorified by all those deceiving the good people of Anambra state with the slogan: 'nkea bu nke anyi'. First and foremost, let us look at the issue of recession. Nigeria was said to be in recession. But, it should be recalled that Anambra had goog savings under former Governor Peter Obi's watch such that the recession rarely affected the state.

The state government was able to pay the paltry sums in salary civil servants receive in the state with relative ease. While Obi administration was ingenious enough to buy vehicles and computers and distribute same to all the schools in Anambra state, government and private schools alike, the Obiano administration only recently demonstrated the capacity of the state government to buy vehicles that will go round the state when the Governor bought shuttle buses and distributed same to all APGA ward chairmen in the state in his desperation for an undeserved second term in office.

Under Obiano's watch, road construction in Anambra is at a standstill. Lest we forget, Obiano promised Anambra people that after his government in Anambra state, succeeding governments in the state will no longer have any business constructing roads as he would have finished doing all Anambra roads. He equally promised to launch operation zero pothole on existing roads in the state; but, today, potholes have returned in many Anambra roads. A typical example is the Nnewi-Ozubulu-Ihembosi-Okija road which is bedeviled with alarming potholes punctuating every pole's distance on the road. Indeed, Anambra people's hopes have been dashed by a government that cannot keep any of its campaign promises.

It should equally be recalled that Obiano did promise ndi Anambra that he would uphold his self-invented "tripple C" theory of governance:
C - Completion
C - Commissioning
C - Commencement.
Under the triple C theory, Obiano committed himself to an oath of completing all the projects started by Obi administration. That is completion. He promised to commission same. That is commissioning. He equally vowed to commence new ones. That is commencement.

Looking at his scorecard, four years down the line, one cannot mention any projects commenced by Peter Obi which Obiano has deemed fit to complete. Is it the shopping mall at Nnewi? Is it the Agulu lake hotel? Is it the Ifite-Ester Obiakor road in Awka metropolis, just to name a few? Suffice it to say that Obiano did not complete the projects initiated by Peter Obi as promised let alone commissioning any one. He simply had commissioners who never commissioned projects. This is ineptitude of the highest degree.

If one consider the third 'C' which stands for commencement and marry same together with Obiano's promise to commit about 2% of the state's annual budget to the development of Awka capital territory, one would be at loss because Awka does not resemble a city with such thrust fund. For instance, the Ifite road which is very close to government house is now impassable, despite leading to the prestigious Nnamdi Azikiwe University. Similarly, Agulu, the host town for the university's faculty of pharmaceutical sciences, just a few minutes drive from Awka, is on the verge of being cut off from the state capital due to bad road.

Considering rural roads, the government ought to hide its face in shame for not being able to deliver the Ozubulu-Ihembosi-Ukpor road infrastructure to Anambrarians. This particular road is being mentioned in this article to represent other rural roads in the state because of the gravity of havoc wrecked on this road by the Willie Obiano government. He did what is best described as deceitful preconstruction earthmoving activity on the once motorable road, loosening the soil structure and then abandoned the project. That single act has proven to be a precursor to a devastating erosion which is now threatening over 200 buildings in the three communities. This is to mention but a few.

But what could be the reason why an incumbent Governor of a state would rather chose to deceive the people he is leading? Anambra was said to be leading other states in local rice production. The truth was however brought to the fore when the President of the federation recognized some states that have done well in rice production and Anambra was not mentioned. This shows that the state government is feeding the public with lies. What about the issue of massive yam production and export from Anambra. Available evidence shows that the yam consumed in Anambra are mostly from Benue and Taraba states. So, where is Anambra yam? What about the export of ugu leaves from Anambra to Europe and America? Through which airports or seaports is this foreign trade being carried out? What is the storage/refrigeration process? How many Anambrarians have been withdrawn from the labour market as a result of this? All these questions should be answered by all those deceiving the people with the slogan: nkea bu nke anyi.

The youths in Anambra are the people bearing the incidence of hopelessness in the current administration. Willie Obiano knows a little about the feelings of the people of Anambra state probably because he retired to the United States where he believed he would spend the rest of his life before Peter Obi brought him back to govern the state. If he had any atom of home feeling, the story would certainly have been different. So, how does he epitomize the saying that nkea bu nke anyi? He simply belongs to the US where he must have starched our common wealth ahead of his exit from power.

The real one that belongs to us is that man who believes in our state; that man who lives amongst us, that man who knows most of us by our first names, that man who feels our pulses, that man whom God has raised from amongst us, that man who has traversed every nook and cranny of Anambra before venturing into state politics, that man who has the burning desire to turn around the fortunes of our dear state to the glory of God and for the good of the citizenry. Vote him today and tomorrow will be filled with glorious tidings. Tony Nwoye is the man. Tony Nwoye bu nke anyi.
Vote Hon. Dr Tony Nwoye for a paradigm shift.

My dear, this is not a question of selling ones conscience. No government is perfect and no government can solve all the problems in its domain. However, we look at the government that know the indices to touch to make life smoother for the citizenry. Just look at Security, just look at the fact that when all other governors are crying and owing their workers, the present government cushioned all those negative effects. That is why you can just start criticizing from the comfort of your home. If there was no security, you should have been commenting from from one northern state because you would have been on the run by now! Please give kudos to him that deserves it. Dont be clouded by useless political emotions.

I say it again, any mistake fro Ndi Anambra, Sorry will be their case. Mark it on the walls!!
I beg to disagree with you sir! The foundation of security in Anambra state today was laid by the previous administration, all Obiano has done was just to sustain it. That been said, I expect you to answer my question on what tangible work this government has done to deserve a second term apart from the pro panda bridge? Of course, that was never answered. For your information, I have no conflict of interest in this election. Besides, talking about security, the only first generation bank in Ukpor has been visited by dare devil armed robbers twice within the last 24months. Unfortunately, they were unchallenged, this information is verifiable. What has Obiano done for the people of Ukpor to deserve a second term in office? I await your response sir!
