NothingDoMe:You can say that again but why must it helpless Nigerians? Why 2m naira? |
Kobicove:I don't have any shop or company in Idumota, just a concerned Nigerian who is totally against injustice and unfairness. You can see that they cunningly tagged the 2m naira as administrative charges! For what? Is it for someone you just issued a clean bill? I implore the NAFDAG DG to wade into this, and probably fish out those behind this shenaniganism. |
Kobicove:Please read the 3rd paragraph in the second document from NAFDAC (addressed to the managing director) again. The sum of 2million was clearly written. |
Today, 25th February, NAFDAC sent a notice to all the shop owners in Idumota drug market requesting them to pay the sum of 2million naira for administrative charge. This is even when many shop owners were cleared of infractions. In asmuch as I commend NAFDAC for their passion and commitment toward eradicating fake and counterfeit products from the markets, I feel that 2million naira is outrageous considering the economic downturn in the country. Where do you expect them to pay such a huge amount of money especially when their shops have been under lock and key for 2weeks? And for many of them, no offending products were found in their shops. What is the 2million for please? I urge the authorities at NAFDAC to reconsider this huge sum of money been levied store owners in the interest of justice.

Estello:An who told you that the California high speed rail project is dead? Please read its current state below: CA.govCA.gov website About California High-Speed Rail The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) is responsible for planning, designing, building, and operating the first high-speed rail system in the nation. California high-speed rail will connect the megaregions of the state, contribute to economic development and a cleaner environment, create jobs, and preserve agricultural and protected lands. When completed, Phase 1 of the high-speed rail system will run from San Francisco to the Los Angeles basin in under three hours at speeds capable of exceeding 200 miles per hour. The system will eventually extend to Sacramento and San Diego, totaling 800 miles with up to 24 stations. In addition, the Authority is working with regional partners to implement a statewide rail modernization plan that will invest billions of dollars in local and regional rail lines to meet the state’s 21st century transportation needs. Our Objectives The Authority is working toward three fundamental objectives: Initiate high-speed rail passenger service as soon as possible. Make strategic, concurrent transportation investments that will link over time and provide mobility, economic and environmental benefits at the earliest possible time Position ourselves to construct additional segments as funding becomes available. Our Progress The Authority has 119 miles of active construction in the Central Valley with dozens of active construction sites. 422 miles of the 500-mile Phase 1 system from San Francisco to Los Angeles/Anaheim have been environmentally cleared. The Authority has acquired almost all the right-of-way parcels needed for construction in the Central Valley. The design work for construction in the Central Valley is nearing fully complete. Project Benefits Economic: The project has created over 11,000 good-paying labor jobs. The project generated $16 billion in economic output from July 2006 to June 2022. There are currently over 770 small businesses working on the project. To date, $5.5 billion of program expenditures have been spent in and benefitted disadvantaged communities. Environmental: Our zero emission trains will be powered by 100% renewable energy. On average, California’s electrified high-speed rail will keep more than 3,500 tons of harmful pollutants out of the air – every year. We have planted more than 7,100 trees to offset emissions produced through construction. We have avoided over 420,000 pounds of criteria air pollutants during construction. We have preserved or restored more than 2,900 acres of habitat. Important Project Milestones 2023 – Authority receives $20 million in RAISE grant funding from the federal government for the Fresno High-Speed Rail Station Historic Depot Renovation and Plaza Activation Project. 2023 – Authority marks 10,000 jobs created on the high-speed rail project since the beginning of construction. 2022 – The Authority released its Draft 2022 Business Plan, opening up a 60-day period of public comment. 2022 – The Board approved the environmental documents for the Burbank to Los Angeles project section. The Board’s approval is a critical milestone that moves the project section closer to being “shovel ready” as funding becomes available. 2021 – The Board approved the environmental documents for the Bakersfield to Palmdale project section. This action marked the first certification of an environmental document in the Southern California region. 2021 – The Board approved the Revised 2020 Business Plan. This action reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to deliver a 171-mile Merced-Fresno-Bakersfield interim electrified service line in California’s Central Valley. 2020 – The Board approved the Central Valley Wye environmental document. These actions, along with the clearance of the final section of the Fresno to Bakersfield project section in 2018, provided for full environmental clearance for 171 miles of future high-speed rail alignment between Merced and Bakersfield. 2019 – Project Update Report laid out the path forward for the Merced-Fresno-Bakersfield line, a building block project that matches the available funding. 2018 – Chief Executive Officer Brian P. Kelly and his staff composed the latest business plan expressing the progress that has been made while candidly confronting challenges going forward. 2017 – Governor Brown and the Legislature secured the establishment of an important step in long-term funding stability for the project by approving AB 398 extending the Cap-and-Trade Program through 2030. 2015 – A ground breaking ceremony was held in Fresno to signify the beginning on HSR construction. 2012 – Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. highlighted the benefits of this system in his State of the State address and declared that high-speed rail was a priority for his Administration. 2009 – $8 billion in federal funds was made available nationwide as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). 2008 – The bond measure (Proposition 1A) was approved by the state’s voters, making it the nation’s first ever voter-approved financing mechanism for high-speed rail. 2002 – Senate Bill (SB) 1856 (Costa) was passed that authorized a $9.95 billion bond measure to finance the HSR system. 1996 – The Intercity High-Speed Rail Commission determined HSR in California was, in fact, feasible. The California High-Speed Rail Authority was then created by the Legislature to oversee implementation. 1994 – As part of the High-Speed Rail Development Act of 1994, California was identified as one of the five corridors nationally for high-speed rail planning. The California Legislature also created the Intercity High-Speed Rail Commission and charged it with determining the feasibility of a system in California. 1981 – California pursued the idea of a Southern California high-speed rail (HSR) corridor working with Japanese partners. |

[quote author=IdiotOjukwu post=118928583]If not for some naive. Yoruba youth, Obi name should have been banned in South West. Everywhere online, you will never find a single Igbo who is not for Obi. That's how to understand conspiracy. There criticism of Tinubu is a reflection of their habitual discrimination of every top Yoruba men. . I remember how we all celebrated Chimamanda Adichie breakthrough with her novel. That same lady later used her platform to lampoon Adeleke, a Yoruba writer. Don't think I recalled the name correctly. We all celebrated the brilliance of Okonjo Iweala, Charles Soludo and every member of Obasanjo economic team. We aren't even mindful of the fact that Frank Nweke Junior was playing the role of Lai Mohammed. But they castigated Kami Adeosun and mock her exit from Buhari government . Every brilliant Yoruba personality in Buhari government, they painted as incompetent. We still respect Chinua Achieve till date but they spare no word of commendation for Whole Soyinka. To them, he is a puppet of the nobel Laurette organization in Stockolm. They even forget the sacrifice he made for them during the Biafra war. Generation Z, you are on the bed with the worng people. You join the self adulation bandwagon but always quick to criticize your your. Your obsession with trend has made your lost your self awareness. Your are caught in do not let behind syndrome .[/quot Interesting! Clap for yourself........ |

I've said it before and it bears repeating now, the biggest singular tragedy facing Ndigbo is the tragedy of leadership. What you are seeing here is the GREATER ONITSHA WATER SCHEME bolehole site in G.R.A, Onitsha, Anambra state. This is a World Bank assisted project aimed at providing RUNNING WATER to Onitsha and its environs. As in, you come home and open your tap and water will start running just the way it is in those places we refer to as saner clime. In 2013, the then govt of Peter Obi paid the sum of 1.8 Billion naira to a South African company, Peterson Candy International to resuscitate the Water Scheme The then state Commissioner for public utilities, one Chief Emeka Nwankwu equally announced that they've secured a letter of credit for $700 million for the GREATER ONITSHA WATER SCHEME. The sad thing is, as I type, most parts of the GREATER ONITSHA WATER SCHEME boreholes site have since been sold off to private individuals. The sales started last year. The implication is that the city of Onitsha may have lost a golden opportunity of having running water in over 3 decades. At first, I thought the destruction of some of the boreholes supposedly by those who bought lands there was going on without the knowledge of the state govt, never mind that the Onitsha governor's lodge where the state governor has been staying for over 3 months now shares a fence with the site. So I reached out to the state chairman of physical planning board, Barrister Chike Chukwuweike who refused to respond to my question. In responding to my WhatsApp message, the state Commissioner for public utilities, Mr Emeka Ezenwanne denied the sale of the Water Scheme site but didn't give further explanation even as heavy duty equipment keep destroying some of the boreholes. And I would have believed the Commissioner except I know some of the people who bought land there just as I know some who acted as land agents. What this means is that all the 1.8 Billion paid by the previous govt is now gone. All the financial support already given and yet to be given by the world bank for the scheme gone. Just because we have leaders who think of nothing but selling everything just to have enough money to spend as they wish. Check the whole of Igbo-land and tell me just one city you can beat your chest and say yes, this is it! Go to Enugu, to get water, you have to speak long grammar with water tanker drivers with all their 'shakara'. In Onitsha, you will see someone carrying 50 litters of water to climb 5 storey building in Awada. And a governor is busy selling off a World Bank assisted water scheme site. N'ezie, "Ịfe ólú melu Igbo dị ofu mana ife Igbo melu ọnwe fa di asaa". “They” inflicted one injury on Ndigbo while the latter inflicted seven injuries on themselves A shame, isn't it?? *Charles* *Ogbu* |

Ezewuzie01:Your comment is so unfortunate and disrespectful to those who lost their lives and source of livelihood. It's so sad that we have now politicised everything even when lives are lost on a daily basis. Why do you blame onitsha residents who innocently voted for this government? The same government that collect all manner of taxes, levies, etc from them on a daily basis yet cannot provide a functional fire service unit. Did you discuss with those on ground to know that if there was a prompt and effective response from fire service, this incident could have been nipped in the bud? Due to lack of response, the fire raged on and spread towards Ochanja and environs. I wound join issues you neither will I be prejudiced on this discuss, but let's be humane and objective. Going to Awka will not restore the lives of those lost due to dysfunctional governance. By the way, it's instructive to note that neither the governor or his representative has visited the scene more than 24hours after the incidence. Am sure you know why....... |
Ezewuzie01:Your comment smacks of insensitivity. Did you not watch the video and observe that fire service never showed up until after more than 2hours? Even when they came, they came with a mini tanker that could barely do nothing and worst of it all, there nozzle was faulty? This is clearly an evidence of government irresponsibility and ineptitude. Can't you see how helpless the citizens were in that video after exhausting there sachets of water which could barely achieve nothing? May the souls of those who departed rest in the bosom of the Almighty God. This calls for sober reflection and resolve by Anambrarians to demand for good governance. Enough of mediocrity, propaganda and sycophancy. |
