@ accadolar, nice job you have done here. I just mailed a school in sk and they replied with all the documents that one needs to present. This is my question, I am currently in northern Europe with resident permit, can I proceed with the application and still apply for their visa when the time comes from my present country of residence? My sponsorship letter will come from naija and backed with my personal statement of account from Europe. Thanks in anticipation to your response.

having a resident permit , does not mean that you a citizen of that country ..so in that case..you still need to apply for a visa at their embassy ..hope that helps ...whoever is sponsoring you need to show their bank statement also.. in addition to yours....execpt that person is a korean citizen/resident and will be responsible for you ..

Congrats on visa!!

Can someone tell me - what's this about needing a letter of invitation to apply for a Nigerian tourist visa (i.e. a Canadian or American wishing to visit Nigeria)? What if the applicant is planning to just come and visit as a tourist and not visiting anyone in particular?

You really dont need it .. u will copy of the hotel u want to stay and unpaid flight itinerary. ....

Thanks @Igwe.God bless u real good.Another question pls.I think am getting closer to all I need to know. lookin at the amount u quoted for one to get ready for schoolin in S.K.,its like wow!!!!! undecided...but my question now is, what if my plan is to come in to do factory work only and not schooling,do u mean that as well is impossible. If yes, what kind of visa is most likely possible...

Well.. i spoke to few Nigerians here in korea....

Obinna .... he told me that he came here through church conference. .paid about 250k for visa ...and never left again he works in the factory.....been here since 2014 ...and this is his 3rd factory job... his favourite quote ...o boy if u wan work ..work dey ...lol...

Another guy ..knows him by his nickname " fresh fish"..lol...so i call him ..fresh... came through school ..working full-time. .not sure if he still in sch...

Ur best bet is to come through some organization....but be careful with fake visa .. ...

But i have seen alot of Nigerians here with no stay ..last time i was in korea .. most of them in Canada. .new Zealand. .us ... marriage of course ... nothing is impossible.....

Thanks a million broz. I really got a brief of relief.@acadollar....@Igwe...thank u gannnnnnn. yh, hmmmm...are there factory jobs available for a work study student and how much can one earn a month.Coz my plans initially was to work for a year den study afterwards but since I cant defer admissions or wait to pay at the point of entry as with some US schools, then u know I need to know my shoe size before goin to Aba..lol cheesy

even in the US ,you are not allowed to defer admission in order to work .... for you to do that ..u need a good supporting documents ..like death in the family or sickness ..... ..remenber working and going to school with a full loads..is hard ...u can get dismissed from school for not making point gpa ..or failing language school... and you are required to leave the country .....

i know of a guy that brought his brother here to go to school.. he failed language school... and was refused visa extension ...and was ask to leave the country .. his brother was so mad and sent him back to 9ja ...becos he didnt want them looking for him and ruining his immgration record..

Boss i did currency conversion on korean won to nigerian naira. i observed that Nigeria naira is higher than korea won. Pls why working do they pay in dollar monthly or their local currency.
Those their national universities allow graduate students to work why schooling?
thanks

word of advise !!!

if you are comming to korea to work ..forget it ....koreans prefer to hire their own poeple ..do you know how many smart graduates walking around in korea ..all they do here is study till midnight (high school)... sure ..u can get factory jobs..but be ready to work mon-sat ..and long hours .... most 9ja guys can,t do for long ...cos is physically demanding ....and most are lazy ....some guys will work for 3months and quit .......i did it for 2yrs ..before going into buying and selling of parts and wears.... be ready to work bro ......

Thanks @acadollar.God bless u.But please am still not clear on that.U suggested earlier on one of d threads that even if one is coming to S.K. to work, study visa s d best bet.Now my question is, how do I clinch a student visa since I am not ready to start school immediately I get to S.K.?Although I wish for a work nd study situation but am thinking it might not work for me since I would be involved with a chunk of lab work while studying.Abeg I need a bit of clearance on this.thanks

Guy ... sure you can come here with a student visa ..but before they issue u a visa ..u have to pay the school fees and someone have to be responsible for you.... sure once u get here .....u can find a job...

acadollar more oil to your light. ... pls as you have mentioned what areas should we be looking when applying for school so that someone can be working and schooling. i.e states that provides more opportunities for students to work. thank you

also look into places like daegu (3rd largest city in korea)
busan
and were i worked under the table making about $1800
gumi
Gumi (Hangul: 구미) is the second largest city in Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea. It is located on the Nakdong River, half way between Daegu and Gimcheon, also lies on the Gyeongbu Expressway and Gyeongbu Line railway which are the principal traffic routes of the country.

The city is an industrial center of the country with many companies, including Samsung Electronics and LG Display. The primary industries are electronics, textiles, fibers, rubber, plastic and metal products. In Gumi, 1,772 companies employ over 80,000 workers.[1] It is the largest scale in Korea. In 2009, the city exported the largest amount in the country and accounted for 96.9% of trade surplus of Korea in 2000 to 2009.[2]

The former President of South Korea, Park Chung-hee was born in the city.

Thankx op and other contributors for this wonderful thread. I have gone through all the pages and the information I have gathered so far is immeasurable.
However I still need some clarifications please.
1. I want to apply for my masters In Agricultural technology and so far I only found that course in Seoul National university. From my findings i understand the cost if living in seoul is abit high, kindly recommend another city where English is spoken as well and they have a good public/National University.
2. From previous posts I understand one can get a paid job while studying (not factory job), kindly confirm if this is still true.
Thank you

sure the cost of living in Seoul is high , but you can commute from iteawon (which you can find a place for $300-500) a month ...iteawon might feel like home for you, since we have a lot of 9ja and also an African food place ( happy home restaurant) great food....or you can try chonbuk national university... nice and cheap housing and more likely to find a factory job ..

A. If you are a national of the countries below, you are exempt from having to apply for a re-entry permit.
☞ The Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Luxemburg, Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland(including Liechtenstein), France, Finland
B. If you have a multiple Korean visa, you don't have to obtain a re-entry permit, but only on the condition that you return to Koreawithintheperiodofstaygiven.
* Note : If you leave Korea without a re-entry permit, you must get a new Korean visa to return to Korea even if your period of stay has not yet expired.

To apply for a re-entry permit, you can visit our office or you can apply for the re-entry permit at ports of departure on your departure date..

YOU STILL NEED VISA TO CHINA WITH A US PASSPORT .$170 ..AND CHEAPER WITH A 9JA P

xp17:
thanks bro. I don't really have time during the weekdays, I'm only free on weekends, hence going to China would be difficult for now. I'll have to wait till Nigeria passport officials come over. For now, I'll use my USA passport , that can get me to China without visa, but can't get me to Nigeria.
When I finally make up my mind, I might fly to ghana, then get my Nigerian passport done there. This would be stressful though.

Pls you guys should get me inform whenever those Nigeria officials come here.
