Though you may see this as important to help them identify their weaknesses & then work out on how to reestablish the many bridges they have succeeded in burning, i wish to err on this side of caution at this point by stating that not only are we wasting some valuable time trying to re-orientate the political philosophy of these people, i think we MAY be doing ourselves some disservice by involving ourselves in such selfless act of gratitude that may end up unveiling the advantages that exists in the political flairs that differentiate these easterners from the rest of the country groups.

Please do not get me wrong, I dont aim to see them falter incessantly in the Nigerian political arena, but that I'd rather prefer we LEAVE them COMPLETELY to what their intuitions dictates to them on how good or bad politics is been played.

In fact, with all boldness & clearity, i say we dont mind what GOOD OR BAD results the nature of their politics has derived for them. ! OH YES. ![/b] . And to corroborate what was earlier explained, having to involve ourselves in a non-profitable act of "the good Samaritan" is tantamount to shooting ourselves on the foot, while even our own foot (the Yoruba political consciousness & solidarity) still has its own numerous ailments.

Whatever they have derived, are deriving, and will derive from their own way of interacting & integrating politically or even socially, please i crave your indulgences, should be of negligibe concern to you. As Yorubas who have been able to adapt ourselves to the polical climate of Nigeria, we know how much that has been to our benefit. Now making out an indirect exposure of the tasks involved in carving out such hard-earned gains is equally dismissing the very vital importance of our political advantages.

I think the Igbo youth should start reorienting themselves, the time to start telling themselve the truth is now. Politics is a game of numbers and emotions doesn't win you any post. The civil war has been fought and lost, both the Yoruba, Hausa-Fulani, Igbo, and other tribes definitely have differences but we can overcome that differences to build a stronger nation for us.

If Igbo want the Presidency, then they should work for it, the same people you guys claim to hate you will be the one to vote for you when the time comes for an Igbo presidency, the time to start building those bridge is NOW.

larride: That line in bolded is wrong on all front. Firstly its Yoruba and not Yorbars. Secondly, The Yoruba does not scramble for any political relevance, we know what and where we belong and we don't need any chest beating to pinpoint that. What we call political sophistication is not being taken for granted by the people we have elected to serve us, that is why you will see an average Yoruba man talking politics as if his life depended on it because frankly speaking, his life depends on it indirectly because an decisions taken by those elected will affect us all. Why don't you ask yourself why the issue of religion doesn't normally comes up when we want to chose our leaders, its because we know thati irrespective of the religion, an evil man is an evil man and so we don't play religion politics and anybody who tries who play religion politics with the Yoruba is just wasting his time.
