This one you're calling her 'a girl' ![]() k2039: Sadly, I just got all of this from a girl now, virginity is now in the trash. The extravagant six tier high dessert is one-and-a-half metres tall and is decorated with more than 2000 diamonds - the equivalent of 2046 carats. The cake will be showcased at the National Gay Wedding Show in Liverpool on the 3rd of March before it is served to attendees. Bespoke jewellers Russell and Case who are based on the aptly named Bling Bling Street in Liverpool collaborated with CAKE in Chester to make the glamorous showpiece. The wedding cake is estimated to be worth a staggering £32.4m ($52m) which means it is the most expensive in the world. CAKE owners, Tim and Jules Smith said: 'We jumped at the opportunity to create the world's most expensive wedding cake. 'It is a special cake standing at over a metre and a half tall and covered with diamonds, so they're the proverbial icing on the cake!' Their creation has beaten the former US record holder by Mimi So Jewellers and cake designer Nahid La Patisserie Artistique which was valued at $20m The public will be able to view - and taste - the new world record holder at the BT Convention Centre at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on the 3rd March. Laura Davies, Marketing and Events Manager, said: 'We wanted to do something huge for The National Gay Wedding Show, and this cake really is huge!' VillageBoi: I'm glad you did. A very, very difficult section to select from because documentaries are nearly always intersting even if shot on a mobile phone. I'm still going to watch them all over again. I loved every single one you mentioned especially Wheels on the Bus & A Gateway Into Kano & Hustle on a Mile. I took Bless-In off the list immediately because, even though I think it is one of the best there they limited their 'audience' by it being in pidgin only with no subtitles - I have to find a rason to remove points nah - *sigh*.Bless-In was really good and I liked that it was in pidgin. It was easy to eliminate the rest because the ones I selected I just couldn't ignore. You are right that the use of pidgin limited the reach of the message but maybe that's the point. Its a documentary for Nigerians. I hope the film maker takes the time to include subtitles later on. Gateway Into Kano had very good content, editing and subtitling. So did Deadwood. Hustle On A Mile and Wheels On The Bus were so real and heart touching. I hate this! Hold on, we can make this work between the 3 of us we can split our vote for the top 3 favourites, lol! |
I need to check out the bios of the judges too hahaha |
These are my favourites ![]() Wheels on the Bus Zimbabwe The Deadwood (I didn't have to watch this as I'd seen it a couple weeks ago!) Nigeria A Gateway Into Kano Nigeria Hustle On A Mile Nigeria Bless-In Nigeria This category is harder than the short films *sigh* |
I watched the documentaries! and I'm glad I did |
ayobase: And I have this feeling that ajebabe knows about how this story ends!As his muse, I should ![]() |

An out-of-the-box story. It was shot well, the actor did a good job, minimal and intense. The best Nigerian short film ever? Yes it is when I compare it with Enitan, Dara Ju, Outspoken and Down & Out, which are my new favs. |

VillageBoi: I hope I do since I've always liked documentaries. There was nothing lucky in that movie! Nicely done though. It was packed with content and dialogue, did not feel like 15 mins! |
VillageBoi: Funnily enough my 2 fav short films for a few years are both around the 15min length -I'll watch these as well! |
