As a federal republic it is duty of individual states to look into this kind of matter. If not then our brilliant government should change that title. Its a bridge for crying out loud!

Sojay – SOJAY’S ROOM [a Drake cover]

It's confirmed. SoJay is the best male vocalist in Nigeria!

After eLDee tweeted that the highly sought after title belonged to none other than Trybe Records’ soulful crooner, Sojay, Twitter went abuzz with people agreeing, testifying, wanting to find out more, and cautiously awaiting his highly anticipated 1st single which arrives at midnight Monday the 11th of February.

A few people questioned and recommended handles of other good singers, prompting eLDee to issue the challenge of who could create the best cover/rendition of Drake’s “Marvin’s Room”.
After sifting through e-mails, 2 standouts were clear - “Sojay’s Room” by the Trybe Records‘ act, which features a complete rewrite of the original Drake song alongside his smooth vocals.

Burna Boy and Yemi Alade “take over” the front cover of the new issue of Accoladez Magazine! The cover story which is themed “a Nigerian Tale of Rebels with a Cause” explores Burna Boy and Yemi Alade’s rise to fame while breaking many of the conventional rules on their way to the top.

While Yemi Alade rocks an 80s inspired vintage dress on the cover, Burna maintains his signature style with his glasses and silk print shirt paired with a white jacket.

Its a new month and a week to Valentine’s Day! There is something sweet and dreadful about this day because you are excited to make this one day uniquely special while stressing at the same time between what is ‘just enough’ and ‘embarrassingly outrageous’ display of your true feelings.

Very soon radio stations all over will drown our senses in love songs of old and new. While I have no problems with this, it can get annoying. Not because of the high expectations from people in relationships – you know what I mean hehehe – but how over-hyped it is that it tends to lose its value. Just the way Christmas and Easter have been so commercialised that I no longer see them as spirituality significant, but another holiday.

I don’t mean to generalise but it seems to me that true romance is dead in most cases. A Naija girl will suddenly become friendly with that guy that has been chasing her for months just so she can get gifts from him to show off to her friends. Or a guy would use this a ploy to get into the pants of that girl that has been turning him down. Una know yaself!

What happened to the days when honest romantic gestures were valued. That letter and mixtape that he worked on weeks in advance to show you how he feels or wanting to enjoy his company, the feel of his lips on yours wearing that colour, outfit or perfume you know will drive him crazy. Cheesy right? Lol! But you get my point.

I was thinking about it and was going through my playlist when I realised I didn't have Nigerian songs on there. I tried to come up with a good list and found it difficult to come up with 10 songs. Can you imagine that! What do Nigerians listen to when they what to 'get it on'?
