I have always thought on this Line. Why don't Uniben give Aspirants their second choice courses if they couldn't meet the criteria of either Cut-off or Catchment placement to obtian their first choice course or courses ? they just fling them to any course! not too healthy.

I believe A second choice course will be more appreciated by an aspirant if the first choice is not given.

yea, its very true that dentistry is more revered than optometry.
And you know,optometry is not yet well known in nigeria.
To a layman,its all about cutting glasses.
And even in uniben,its hardly regarded as an important department.
Now,i dont want to wash its dirty linen in public so i wont say more (lol).
I once asked why it wasnt in the college of medicine like others or at least a faculty on its own.
The answer i got was; It wasnt as specialized as ophthamology.
Its in faculty of life sciences here in uniben,dont know about unilorin(that's why i asked.
Anyway,i find the course really very interesting {having to learn about the human eye and about lenses,curing some diseases and contacts,etc}
Hi Ray360 , i dont think its a general tendency for all optometrists to wear glasses.
Some final yr studs i know don't.
(although i do, not because of optometry tho. )
