A big boost for his ambition in Anambra 2014 Gov election |
BREAKING NEWS!!! Again, Andy Uba Floors Ukachukwu 11 Jan 2013 Senator Andy Uba The senator representing Anambra South senatorial zone in the Senate, Senator Andy Uba, Thursday scored another landmark victory over his long time political opponent, Mr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, as the Court of Appeal sitting in Owerri, the Imo State capital dismissed the request to declare him as the daily nominated candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the senatorial election which was won by Uba. In the suit no CA/OW/180/2012 between Ukachukwu and others versus INEC and Uba, the court had ruled that Justice J. Umar, then of the Federal High Court, Umuahia, was wrong to have transmitted the application to the Court of Appeal. The court further held that Ukachukwu had no grounds of appeal on the real issue in question and therefore refused to exercise its power under section 15 of the Court of Appeal Act to decide on who was the nominated candidate of the PDP. The Court of Appeal, therefore, ordered that the substantive suit pending at the Federal High Court, Umuahia, be transferred to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court for re-assignment. A similar case filed by Chuma Nzeribe challenging Uba’s election was thrown out by the Court of Appeal, Enugu Division last year. Back †☺ the real Topic.....Senator Andy Uba all along knew that the good people of Anambra South will queue behind him in the re-run election, but he elected to deepen democracy through his legal option. Before the re-run election however, the government of Anambra State, had started campaign to oust Uba in the election. They deploy both the State owned Television and Radio Stations to maximum effect. Since it is APGA State, Senator Andy Uba was denied access to campaign in these media. Because of the grass-root support Andy enjoys in the Senatorial zone, the people of the zone defied APGA led government in the State to vote Senator Andy Uba back to office. In-fact, for three months, Peter Obi virtually moved government house to Anambra South just to defeat Uba who the people of the zone had elected to cast their vote for. As 2014 governorship approaches, only Senator Andy Uba can defeat himself by not contesting the election. If he decides to vie for the governorship election, the good people of Anambra State will surely queue behind him. In-fact, he will win the 2014 governorship election landslide should he run. The people of the State love him; they showed it in 2007, April 9, 2011 and March 21, 2012. They will repeat it in 2014. |
....Similarly, he(Senator Andy Uba) had sponsored a bill on delegated legislation (monitoring and control) 2012 SB173 which had its first reading as well as A bill for an Act to Amend the corrupt practices and other related offenses Act cap C31 LFN 2010 and for matters connected there within which also had its first reading. However the stakeholders of Anambra South senatorial District also gave their voice to what they called the legislative mile stones of senator Andy Uba. According to former chairman Aguata local government area Engr. Godwin Osele “It is not in doubt that senator Uba has so far leaved up to expectations in several areas. A case in point is the electricity project which has also embarked on the sinking of water boreholes in all the rural communities and has also assisted in the renovation several schools in his senatorial district. We also know that as a lawmaker there are limitations but it is imperative to note that his position has attracted development from the federal government. Similarly the senators oversight functions also tranvassed the rural areas in his district. Recently the dreaded gully erosion cut off the Uga community in Aguata local government area and as such the families,Kit and Kins had to pass through the from the same Uga community. During his visit, senator Uba lamented that the menace of gully erosion had become so bad that the federal government need to put Anambra state on the map of the worse hit in the area of natural disaster. The community however expressed confident in senator Andy Uba’s ability in ensuring that the federal government intervians in the gully erosion menace and that that the Anambra, Imo States and the Federal Government would come to its aides before it becomes too late. Speaking with reporters, senator Uba announced that he has already make a special representation with the federal government adding that in no distant time work would start on it after settlement of the confusion over how the last contracts were awarded. Similarly most dilapidated schools in the senatorial district had at one time or the other received the attention of the senator who has also provided water bore holes to private and mission schools in the area. At a time the National flood disaster visited the coastal lines of Nigeria, Senator Uba had visited victims with donations and further promised that government would prepare a supplementary budget to assist the victims. Speaking at a visit to the area Uba expressed shock at the level of devastation noting that the flooding in Kogi state is a mere child’s play compared to the one in Anmabra State. “This is shocking and frustrating. When we heard about Kogi flooding we thought that it was the largest what we have seen in Ogbaru and Anambra East, Anambra West, Ayamelu areas is very pathetic compared to what we saw in Kogi. “In this years budget what we have for these areas is small so we are going to push for a review of the allocation in view of their present circumstances. Through his tenure as a senator is yet to be completed most of his senatorial district members are already clamoring for his participation in the 2014 gubernatorial election The Communities in Aguata, Orumba North and Orumba South local government areas have unanimously insisted that they would produce the next governor of Anambra state come 2014 gubernatorial election. The area comprising of all political stakeholders across all political parties during a thank-you rally organized by the senator representing Anambra South District Chief Andy Uba endorsed him as their candidate for the 2014 election. Already election posters of senator Andy Uba has already taken over the streets of Awka Capital suggestive of this area move to enthrone one of their own as the next governor of Anambra State. Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders chief Vin Okafor told reporters that “this is our resolution. Every governor that comes into office has been through the instrumentality of the old Aguata union comprising of Aguata, Orumba south and Orumba North local government area and this time around we are supporting our own brother senator Andy Uba. “We are giving Anambra state the best and are man made in the capacity of Uba has never been a failure all his life.” Speaking at the thank you rally, senator Uba noted that “what happened at the re-run election was a further manifestation of that love and support that the Anambra South has for me. Even when we are in court challenging the ruling of the Appeal Court our opponents were busy campaigning and despite all that they did, the people of Anambra South said for the second time that I am the candidate they want. “So I have come to thank my people for electing me again as their senator. As a matter of fact, the issue is over and we are looking up for greater challenges ahead. We are now looking at what happens in 2014 and by the special grace of God Anambra would see governance at its best. This is not a declaration for now but I know that the mandate given to me by Anambra people in 2007 would surely come back to me for the service of the people.” Also speaking, the members representing Orumba North and south federal constituency and that of Aguata federal constituency chief Ben Nwankwo and mrs. Eucharia Azodo noted that the personality of Andy Uba is one that is acceptable by the entire Anambra State, adding that come 2014, Anambra State would witness great change |

TEAM SENATOR ANDY UBA (for GOVERNOR 2014) ABSTRACT Senator Andy Uba’s Performance at the Senate - By 247ureports The electoral victory of the senate seat representing the south senatorial district of Anambra State came as a long awaited august visitor for the former Senior Special Assistant on Domestic Matters to the former President of the federal republic of Nigeria, General Olusegun Obasanjo. The victory, to most informed observers, came at the sensitive end of a long drawn out battle for the opportunity to serve at a leadership capacity for Senator Andy Uba. The opportunity brought to a temporary close the passionate struggle for Senator Uba to join the political ranks in Anambra. Mounting the seat of Senator representing the people of southern senatorial zone in Anambra State presented what many suspect may become a Greek gift to the Uga born politician while other believed the Uga born politician may have ability to deliver a stellar performance. As at the swearing in on 2011, many of the informed spectators were unsure of the form his senator-ship will take. But it was certain the eagerness on the part of the Uga born politician was solid. Senator Andy Uba’s arrival to the senate saw him take on the position of Chairman of the Senate House committee of Electoral Matters – a sensitive position for a new incoming senator. However a cursory examination into Senator Andy Uba’s performance measured in terms of his ability to cater to his constituency through developmental program – shows what appears a latent inclination towards a pragmatic transformation of Anambra southern senatorial district. This is evident through the number and nature of constituency projects housed in the same senatorial district. Examination of the 2012 Appropriation Bill confirms the ongoing pragmatic transformation. According to the 2012 Appropriation Bill, N349.47million worth of projects were cleared to be carried out at the constituency represented by Senator Andy Uba – through the efforts of the Uga born politician. Onuokwu: This zoning thing will not work out as planned by APGA. To start with, as I queue to vote, the last consideration on my mind will be which senatorial zone each candidate comes from. a major play factor will be recognizability of candidates. In any case, it is almost clear now how the three top parties will field candidatesI agree with you in some of ur points, but remember typical Anambra Politics especially Old Aguta politricks.. A̶̲̥̅̊м̣̣̥̇ from Idemili North same Zone with Ngige, last month nov,There was a Political forum which was held at Ojoto on the next gubernatorial election in which a prominent Alor man was a Chief speaker,This issue of Zoning was raised and also our son's chance of winning was weighed, in conclusion it was conceded that Anambra Central has had their chance and it's unlikely we will hold unto power 4 another 4yrs! Gov Obi and C. Nzeribe are currently having issues and trading war words- (Chuma. believed that Gov Obi did not push enough during senate election which he (chuma) lost twice Presently Ukachukwu(Ikuku-oma) and Andy are on negotiation as regards 2 de past senate election and Andy's Gov ambition. There's possibilty that de duo will form alliance †☺gether with FORTE DIKE of Ihiala †☺ consolidate on Anambra south senatorial Zone. Andy Uba's Former SSG Ȋ̝̊̅§ from Idemili north ( another good political move) I doubt if Northern zone has a credible person 2 match this top shots. Well events will unfold as time goes on |
Without mincing words,my complete support goes †☺ Senator Dr.Andy Uba. IMO, Senator Uba Ȋ̝̊̅§ †☺ •̸Ϟε̲̣ like R. Okoroocha of Imo state. My analysis; Ngige: less than 50% chance of winning the Gubernatorial election cos he's from Anambra central Senatoral zone-same with Peter Obi (who has governed for 8yrs,will other other zones siddon d̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥ look? as regards 2 politics in Nigeria particulary Anambra state) Senator Dr Andy Uba Ȋ̝̊̅§ better positioned †☺ take de mantle but his brother(Chris Uba)'s deeds seems 2 be a high hurdle 2 jump. But on a level ground he got de potentials more than other aspirants...... (...Waiting 4 attacks...) Will be back 2 tell more |
Hang on a second,Ȋ̝̊̅§ Hazzard and Mata in this game? |
Van persie 2! It's all over chelsea |
Holy cow! That should outright red 4 such challenge from ivan |
What a strike! RVP why do U̶̲̥̅̊ leave gunners ![]() |
God bless Gunners and their well-wishers! |
Serena my love, pls give •̸Ϟε̲̣ a lovely weekend by winning this slam,U̶̲̥̅̊'ll always be ma idol |
bot101: can someone help me with how 2 calulate ansu aggregate score?add your UTME score and post-UTME score then divide by 2,if de average Ȋ̝̊̅§ from 180 then U̶̲̥̅̊ stand a chance of getting admission, however ANSU place de highest scored averages on merit list. Which means one can get an average of 180 or slightly above and may still not get admission, cos depending on school facility according †☺ NUT approval, JAMB will allow limited no of students in a particular dept(eg, Mech.Engineering maximum allowed by NUT Ȋ̝̊̅§ 120 students) then de school considers 40% of approved 120 students for 1st choice,30% for 2nd choice,20% for pre-science/degree students 10% for candidates that did not put ANSU as any choice. The latter are allowed to write post-UME with 2nd Choice candidates. Hope this helps! Best of luck |
For many times i've been reading many posts with interest on this icon called OJUKWU, hmmm alot of people had spoke so much about him both those who love him and those who hate him. But all have one thing in common about this Warrior, 'he lives in us Nigerian', love him or hate him," HE LIVES IN YOU" except you choose not think or talk about him. Just like Jesus christ, Micheal jackson etc, OJUKWU is a popular name that'll live with our generation and many generations 2 come, Hate or love de name! For christain Don't get it twisted that i 've likened him 2 d name Jesus christ, if you consider Jesus a hero, remember there's was a time enemy sought 2 kill him 'prematurely' ,he avoided death till de hour came, likewise Mohamed, he went on exile when there was so much heat on him. Elijah ran 4 his dear life when jezebel turn de heat on him, so tell me any real Hero that don't run 4 his life especially in war or if there's heat on his life. Just post any topic on Ojukwu and see if it can't make front page! What a legend! |
Daddy, daddy, you'll forever be remember, your name will forever be in the mind and thought of those who love and hate you, both generation yet unborn. You are an icon and a rare Gem! A lord! Brave warrior! I was named after you, daddy. You'll forever be my hero. I love you daddy. Words can't express how much i adore you. Farewell papa. Ka chi fo, je nke oma. Ka eme sia. (Sobs) |
