HSpecial:Emirates and Nigeria government have been having issues for over 6 months or thereabout, so emirates is not fully operational in Nigeria. Tentatively Emirates had said flights will resume after 31st August,2021 but until they do make a statement to that effect, it is advisable not to book Emirates. |
wolewole200:How long is the course of the person she is depending on for? If its less than one year then definitely she will not be granted permission to work. Another scenario is if you are joining your spouse and he/she has under a year LEFT on his/her Visa/ BRP before you decide to go into the UK, you will not be permitted to work. |
whiteMandingo:No it is not compulsory, you just need to head to your final destination immediately you arrive. It can be by Train, Bus or a local flight. It is usually better to book about two weeks ahead or there about to get cheap fares. You can only do that with your dollar/ pounds card though. Don't forget to take your masks along. |
emmynent:UCH is not listed on their site. There's only one approved center on their site for Oyo state. Medicaid Diagnostics Number 11 Road 1, Elephant Bus-Stop, Oluyole Extension Zone 5, Ibadan. Phone: 09075006950. (You can reconfirm by clicking on Test center on the NCDC travel portal, input Oyo state) |
dbty:I think you are making an easy thing complex, unless the funds are not available yet for the children to apply. If the funds are available it may be advisable to apply for the dependants(spouse & Kids) at the same time. Acclimatizing for a month then returning for the kids is wasting precious resources. The link sent above makes taking a child without your partner seem easy but its a bit difficult and time wasting at the point of entry. But if the fund is not available, then you can apply alone but have an answer for why you are leaving your kids with their grandparents etc. And there are many reasons to do so depending on the ages of the children: 1. Since you are only leaving for a year or thereabout, you don't want to disrupt their education as the system is slightly different 2. If there's any below age 3, the cost of daycare is high and the child is used to her/his grandma. 3. You don't want to expose them to the unnecessary culture shock for just a year programme ![]() And add the clause that if at anytime the children are missing the parents, you will definitely come and pick them to be with you! |
latinah:Go to ay branch of your bank to collect their " IBAN and Sort Code" and Intermediary bank details, if any. |
justwise:You are correct, it does not. Only make sure to have the correct address plus postcode and phone number of the location. And just in case the UK border office asks why, have your answer ready. Like in the case of the person who initiated this question, you have a relative there, that you haven't seen in a while and want to spend sometime there before settling down at school, in London. The officer may decide to call the person to confirm that the person has adequate accommodation( speaking from my daughter's experience, on a visit visa in May. She was going to London but Isolating in Newcastle). |

Justice2700:You can check for accommodation both short and long term on either 1. www.spareroom.co.uk or 2. www.gumtree.com (click on property) Try to get one that does not require deposit, at least initially. |
konye:Please call Air France office to confirm that you would actually need a transit Visa. Because most European countries allow you to transit thru their airport with a UK visa as long as your transit period is below 12 hours. |
