Greetings All❤

Please do I need to do upfront medicals when applying for study permit extension in Canada?
I'm already in Canada... Can I use the same medical results I used when applying for visa even if it is over a year when I did it?

If you have been in Canada for up to 12 Months, you do not need to do the medical test. But if you have been in Nigeria for 6 months out of the last 12 months then you will need a medical test. If in doubt you can wait till its requested.

Greetings to you All,

Please I need help in extending my study permit in Canada. My visa and study permit was approved last year August 2022 and would expire by April 2023 because that's when my passport validity expires. I have gotten a new passport here in Canada and would like to extend my study permit to cover the duration of my studies. But the problem is: I cannot see the application for my case on the IRCC website. I only see the application for changing of school. Please has anyone encountered similar issues?
I need assistance urgently.

Thanks

You fill the same form as if you are applying afresh, but use your Canadian address and include form IMM5709. Check Youtube. YOU MUST APPLY AT LEAST 30DAYS BEFORE THE CURRENT ONE EXPIRES or you will be out of status and it will cost more money and be on your immigration record!

Abeg who has an idea of this my bro's question...

If including the Business registration, tax record is not compulsory, but as evidence you can include your company bank statement and bank reference letter. If you can't get those then there might be no point including it.

For the job evidence, I would suggest a letter of introduction from the employment body which should include your pay and a contactable phone number and email( beneath the signature),should be manageable.

Hello, house,
please can I travel to another country while awaiting the study visa application?

I look forward to your reply.

thanks
Yes for Canada, you can. If you are planning on sending your passport for stamping in that country, you will need to pay a higher transmission fee if your biometrics was done in your country of application submission.
You also need to send a webform informing them of your travel to a different location, particularly if you are going to be there for a while.

Good evening everyone
Please do I need transit visa for the technical stop at Dublin?

I want to book with Ethiopian airlines

PLEASE DOUBLE CONFIRM FROM THE AIRLINE.
I was denied boarding a flight to Toronto last September from Lagos even though I had both Canada and Uk visas. I was told that as a Nigerian that I MUST have a transit Visa to transit thru Ireland. Transit time was just supposed to be 1 hour 45 Minutes. So please do check as I had to get another expensive ticket, though I was given an option to change date and airline at a fee, but I couldn't afford not to leave that day.

Hello, please when you applied, did you select Nigeria as country of residence?

Yes. And Nigerian statements of account. And I was in Nigeria, I was supposed to go for Easter in Canada and only came to UK because Canada was being slow.

Congratulations!!!
Please can you give an estimate of the funds you had in your personal and business accounts. I was refused on the basis of insufficient funds, I intend to apply again, so this information will be helpful

The balance in the business account was around 1M but transactions in and out for 3 months period was around 11.5M.
Balance in savings account was 1.9M,transactions in and out for the 3months period was around 4M.

Okay, thanks. Am just seeing this now. I have sent most of the the documents used in the application and also added the UK return flight ticket that I had sent earlier via the webform.

I think what they are asking here is all the application documents you submitted initially when you did the application the flight ticket you showed now is an additional document and that's not what they are asking here

Okay. Thanks, but isn't that a bit strange!
I will forward those and see what happens.

Sometimes it exceeds 60 days depending on IRCC work load it's not static I saw a reply they gave someone last week after he sent a web form and the reply was that they are sorry for delay in making a decision now that they have volume of work load and so the stipulated time on the website may not be meet.
Kindly bear with us
So these days it depends

Hi,
Please I applied for visitor's Visa on the 21st of January. There has been no progress since and based on what I read on this thread started sending webform to IRCC and emails to Abuja, Nairobi and London. Well I sent another webform to IRCC this morning and got the response below but do not understand the bolded part of their request.
Am I supposed to submit documents that I uploaded during the application?. In the first webform I sent I informed them that I am currently in the UK on holiday and would like to submit my passport here and I attached the flight ticket indicating my use of the first leg and my return by end of June to Nigeria. Is that what they want me to send again? Am confused, someone should please advise me. Thanks.

Please who has used Providus bank for form A and how fast was it please

I used them to pay my daughter's school fees balance.
It took sooo long! Submitted Form A on 20th April and emailed the form to my local branch same day and called the local bank customer care same day.
By 21st it had been approved for disbursements. Subsequently I had to send emails to remind them that the deadline for payment was 27th May and if payment wasn't received that she will be locked out of the school portal.
They just deducted today sha and the rate was 558.65.
From the emailed receipt, the transaction was on the 24th of April.

Anybody

There's no disadvantage. My son paid half of his fees as deposit and I know someone from this forum who paid in full. And even recieved a thank you message from the school for doing so.
So it's your choice.

Can dollars easily be exchanged to pounds in U.K. please?

Yes you can but will lose some money because of the rate. It is better to change your dollars to Naira here and then use it to buy pounds.

As per the bolded, I add that it also depends on the conditions attached to your ticket. Some tickets may be valid for a shorter period.

And some tickets are refundable even after using the first leg, preferably bought from the airline. You can request for the refund of the return leg within a week of arriving at your destination.
NOTE: not promo ticket but "refundable " ticket.

You can address it to:

Good afternoon my people, can’t figure out using paga for ihs fees. Is it still working?

I called Paga customer care and they said it has been removed from the UK visa payment option since last month due to technical issues.

They mainly observe public holidays. I said mainly because my son had done Biometrics during a 2 day moslem holiday at the VI office.

Hi everyone, please can anyone advise on doing a second masters in the uk. Basically I intend to study nursing following my recently concluded masters (management and international business) I just got an msc nursing admission and would like to know if I can apply from the uk bearing in mind the academic progression rule. The school needs me to prove academic progression before issuing cas or return to Nigeria and apply.

Has anyone ever been in this situation and got visa approved for another masters in a different field from the previous.

Please any tips ?

Having finished a level 7 course in the UK, there is no academic progression if you apply for another level 7 course while you are still in the UK. You will need either to return to Nigeria to apply for the Visa or you apply for a level 8 course which will allow you to apply for the Visa within the UK. It's a written rule and unlikely to be bent. You can Google it and check TSR(the student room) there are discussions on it there.

[quote author=tolajay post=108036173]Thanks.

I used someone's USD debit card but it wasn't successful.

Hence, the outlook for an alternative.

If you are in lagos/Abuja/Akure, you may want to consider the Providus Bank Platinum Master Card.
Their rate is a bit high but the transaction was seamless. The maximum spend on the card is $3,000 per month.
I used it to pay my daughter's IHS, Visa and TLS fees on Friday.
Payment made in dollars was 550Naira and Pounds was 744.

I did call the customer care yesterday, they said they were going to send a mail to the branch
.Today, i called again, they said they sent a mail yesterday, but the branch has not responded, they are going to send another reminder mail again today.
i have now form a habit of calling them, if i don't get debit at noon again tomorrow, i will call again.

Since the customer care seems to imply that the delay is from the local branch, I would advise that you request to see the business manager and explain your plight. Some of the delay is due to the officer in charge not login the details in immediately the customer makes the application.

Please and please, what is the implication of coming to the UK (Scotland) with paper pound notes. That's what I'm getting for PTA. Please!!!

It is still a legal tender and still acceptable till 30th September 2022, after that date only banks in the UK will accept it from you.

Please, what is the best and quickest way to arrange accommodation, especially for students that have not gotten the visa, especially as universities like UWE are insisting on confirmation of accommodation before issuing CAS. Please if you have an offer from UWE for JAN 2022 section and waiting for CAS, let discuss the way forward. Any student already studying in UWE that can be of help can connect with me urgently.

This decision by UWE is very unfair and I hope other schools will not follow in their footsteps.
I learnt they do not want a temporary accommodation, like air BnB or the like.
Am very sure that its the news report by BBC on the accommodation crisis that prompted their action. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-bristol-58959085.

I think the way forward is to try to contact students who are already on ground. And in a case where you cannot get someone, the other option is to do online searches and to include neighbouring cities, e.g Bath. But keeping in mind that as an International student you cannot live beyond 40 miles of the school.
Renting a place online without viewing is of great disadvantage. There are horrible and dubious landlord who would show pictures that are not really true to life! Tho this can be reduced by insisting on live video of the place. And making sure you take date stamped snap shots of any scratch on anything(door, cooker, wall etc) when you move in or they will use it to hold unto your deposit when you are moving out!
I hope every one who has paid deposit will be able to meet up.

I just got this offer. Is it possible to meet the first condition with my 3rd class degree in Psychology

No, your Psychology course is not a health related course.
I would advice you apply for a Masters in Clinical or Applied Psychology, its quite marketable( even more than public health right now!) Unless you need the MPH for your current job in Nigeria.

Any person with a valid driving licence issued in their country of origin is permitted to drive in the United Kingdom for at least 12 months.

You actually don't need to process International driver's licence to drive in the UK. Just the Naija driving licence is enough.

I just checked and you are right! Thank God i have'nt paid yet! Thanks.
