There is no where in the world that it is compulsory for people to save their money in the bank.
This senseless decision is not in conformity with any known economic theory anywhere in the world.
Economic theories that worked elsewhere mostly fail in Nigeria.
This is the only place producing goods and services locally is more expensive than importing such goods, services abroad.
How did Nigeria get into the hands of these gangsters that are bent on destroying on country? the US dollar is not Nigeria currency. I will suggest a heavy charge on every dollar deposited after the 9 month grace. |

It is time for the federal lawmakers to use their brains if they have any. I'm shock the bill is going to be withdrawn. This country is not showing signs is ready to take a great leap. I see nothing wrong with the bill at all. It can be worked on at the national assembly by the lawmakers instead of totally withdrawing the bill. |

WizardOfNG: It is not easy to deal with in reality in so far as prices are not fixed or regulated. You can sell Milo in your supermarket for 2k and I can sell in mine for 3k. I have no issue with how they set their price but the unfair tactics they are using like this Newlymarried: According to Bello, large players in the poultry industry have created an environment where smaller farmers are pressured to follow inflated pricing strategies. “The small poultry owners used to sell a day-old chick for between N480 and N590 and still made a profit,” Bello stated. "But with two large players entering the market, they were soon in a position to control 80 to 90 percent of the poultry market in the city."
These large players allegedly hijacked the local poultry farmers' association, raising the price of a day-old chick to N1,350, counteracting economic principles that suggest increased production should reduce prices. Government support has been ongoing, including the provision of broilers, feeds, and financial aid through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security. However, despite these interventions, poultry prices continue to climb. For instance, the cost of starter mash has jumped from N11,000 in October 2023 to N23,500 by October 2024.
Bello also highlighted pricing manipulation within the packaging industry. “The cartel in the packaging sector consists of five major players who control prices in a mafia-like fashion. If you attempt to check the price with another supplier, the first seller would have already informed the next to quote the same price,” Bello said.

CodeTemplarr: yes, but anything that thtreatens the robbery sructure that favours the north is frowned at by them. They will ratherthings go back to normal(higher crude prices and debt cancellation) so they can eat fromm the other side more. Thats why they cant risk a tax reform that cannunsettle that culturr of indolence killing production. If this bill goes through, productive states like Lagos state will get more, what unproductive states like Katsina will get will fall, while what states like Anambra get will increase. |
Politics › Re: Tinubu's Top Tax Reform Adviser Replies Northern Governors's Objections To Vat by Ikaeniyan0: 4:11pm On Oct 31, 2024 |
CodeTemplarr: I disagree. Consumption is not a form of value addition. The value added to raw inputs are services rendered to the final consumer. By asking that where goods are consumed be used to guage VAT accruing to states, they have committed a grave error because they reject consumption of alcojol and pork. They are also not considering the exta efforts of the states where the goods are produced. Efforts like security and good business environment which cost money to maintain. A Lagos state that employs extra hands for security and orderliness(LASTMA and KAI) should be compensated for that effort. The only fair way to compensate such states is by giving more back to them for being the host to more industries and businesses. Imagine a Warri and Delta state that has chased out so many top oil companies fighting with another friendlier state putting in extra efforts to keep actiivities of oil companies going. At some point the friendlier state to oil companies may lost them entirely and that will likely inbolve that investor leaving Nigeria. It's going to be a win win situation for everybody if this new bill is passed |

babasolution: Why is it that Nigerian elites can not live without one appointment or patronage of the Nigerian state.
They will do anything to live off the state resources, yet people will continue telling poor people that government can't feed them.
People accuse the masses of wanting free things from the government but these same elites never miss the chance to enjoy free things from the government.
They will tell poor people to go hustle n fend for themselves but these elites never fend for themselves ,majority of them depend on the government in one from or the other some from even childhood.
People like buhari have survived on government money from teenage age.
Mele kyari as worked for nnpc all his life, yet can't deliver shit. Akpabio from governor,to minister,to senator yet no deliverables.so many of them. Anime dabiri from nta to house of reps to nidcom etc ,why can't they leave the government pot.
bianca can't resist not to go back to government feeding bottle.
they are so many, majority of the elites in nigeria have been on government sustenance, even many business elites, why can't they leave the government feeding bottle?
many people even on this platform will tell the masses to stop complaining that government will not put food on their table.
But government always put food on the table of the elites. It's not Bianca fault, I doubt she even lobbied to become a minister in this administration. |

Passionnn: Except your business is a side hustle, it's best you run it yourself. In these Y! Boys era, every one is a potential maga for the boys. You are even lucky this one was collecting it but by bit. One man lost about 1.6 million naira to his pos operator. The owner, a building contractor was transfered 1 million naira by his client to purchase building materials. When he got to his kiosk later that evening the boy was not there. The boy left the POS machine on the desk. While going thru, he discovered that all the money was gone! Zero account balance. 1.6 million. All gone. All attempt to trace the criminal has been futile. This happened about 3 months ago. I guess the best option for you is to fire the petty thief. Get a girl to work for you. Anyone you wish to employ must present a guarantor. Girls are also brutal, he should just create the time to always monitor the business and anybody he employ must present a guarantor. PeterObi4Presid |

PeterObi4Presid: Business is really hard in Nigeria if you are not there 247, We are too wicked, greedy and dishonest.
Less than a week, I employed this boy o, to manage my gas filling retail business and POS. He displayed passion, initiative and experience about the gas filling business and handling of POS....so I just took the chance, we also speak same language. I've been acting nice and all but I think I now know why most Nigerian bosses are mean to their workers by default . Now from first cylinder we couldn't account for 10kg Second cylinder was started today by him......when I told him to calculate everything sold from first cylinder based on daily record book ....it felt short of 10kg . From the sales from second cylinder that started today, The account book does not tally with what is remitted through ATM/POS mode of payment .....I dint know this until I checked my Moniepoint acct as I got home now cos my phone was dead before I went to the shop this evening . Even the POS part of the business does not tally with the cash I gave him this morning for people who need cash withdrawal . I'm boiling right now realizing the boy had lied to me when balancing the account this night using the record book, only to get home and power my phone to see cash fell short of 23k in my monie point acct linked to the POS . . How do you handle boys who think they are smarter than you because theyve been in the business before? . And what are your experiences with dishonest workers in your business , especially this gas retail business or POS business . Modoified: how do I handle this case now....cos my mind is just boiling ....how can a new business fall short of 38k in less than 7 days...
. Get him arrested immediately, he must return all your money, after you get back your money, sack him. Some Nigerians are extremely greedy, they don't mind running down people's business. Sack him and find someone else, and try to always create time to monitor the business. |

So all the Governors should leave their State and start investing in Lagos because property is more valuable there. In fact Lagos is not even valuable so they should move it to Capetown, Dubai, New York, Tokyo or London.
