Politics › Re: Tinubu Announce The Return Of 50% Subsidy And End The Planned Protest by Ikaeniyan0: 5:01pm On Jul 29, 2024 |
Blazetrailer: The subsidy removal is not the main issue, it was the blind devaluation of naira. I have posted this many times here. People are focused on the wrong thing. Currently, the government is even subsiding the fuel or petrol, hence you can buy at 850/900...landing cost is about 1500 due to the currency devaluation. I fully agree with you boss. The exchange rate mess is the reason Nigeria is in this mess. If naira can strengthen to about 900/$, price of goods and services will fall. Naira has lost a lot of value since may 29 2023 |

vowiski: Are you drunk ?
Did you read 180? Petrol is already subsidize. Petrol should be selling for #1200 per liter by now. The only way petrol price can fall now is if naira strengthen against the dollar. |
Politics › Re: Tinubu Announce The Return Of 50% Subsidy And End The Planned Protest by Ikaeniyan0: 4:55pm On Jul 29, 2024 |
vowiski: There is no rocket science here,
Tell the people you are re-introducing fuel subsidy at 50% , let people buy fuel at N350/400
Nigerians will be patient to see what you have done with the other 50% the government takes.
How do you drop a policy , then start to think how to make the policy work.
Nigerians even tried to be patient for 1 year..
This madness will not happy anywhere.
What is the government doing for the people if they take off all subsidies ? If you like, protest for a year, petrol price won't reduce to #180. NNPCL is even subsidizing petrol like this |

Very soon, some of you will start killing and claim it's because of a time like this you're doing it. |
