indigold2010: Seems like u using an outdated recovery. Read change ur recovery to philz recovery, download the most recent one, cos from experience 4.4 needs a special recovery to be installed and philz took care of it in the latest version

did that n still getting the same status 7 error.i even edited the update_script as directed on one site. but still got installation aborted.

I have tried to update my S2 i9100 with 4.4.2 omni rom. I have root on d fone.i have tried to do update using dorinmax, philz n siyah. kept getting status 7 n installation aborted. plz wat do I do?

indigold2010: If u can't check the md5 then download the rom again

i have downloaded the rom again and even that of another release date. still the same thing. although i am now getting a ""status 7"" error.

indigold2010: Am sure u have a bad zip. Check the MD5 sum.

indigold2010: What kernel did u root the phone with, chainfire? Siyah.? Or dorinmax? If u rooted with chainfire then am sure u failed to recognise the fact that u have to check the kernel version u had on ur s2 to match with the corresponding chainfire kernel. Well there is a way to get it working.
Step 1.download a stock s2 rom and flash with odin to make the phone come on, if it still bootloops then boot into recovery to clear data.
Step 2 don't root with chainfire, just flash dorinmax kernel and make u flashing the one for stock Samsung and not cm.

Step 3.boot into recovery and do all the necessary wipes and flash rom and gapps. It should boot

Hi. i really want to update my S2 to 4.4.2. i downloaded the 4.4 rom and gapps. i then went ahead to root d phone using odin. so i followed the stated steps on installing from sd card, it starts and then say installation aborted. i have tried different kernel (Siyah-s2-v6.0b4 and Kernel_Dorimanx-V8.43) but still with the same result. and after each failure the phone goes into a bootloop. pls what else can i do? thanks
