during heat of combustion and chemical bonds, the energy changes in chemical rxns come frm d breaking of bond(endothermic) and forming of bond(exothermic). But what proceeds the rxn is exothermic.
Exothermic is +ve wn Bond-breaking energies are greater than the bond-forming energies!
That's the only place enthalpy change is +ve for exothermic, if not it is always -ve.
