The Police in Ayogwiri in Etsako West Local Government Council of Edo are trying to unravel the cause of the death of a 30-year-old housewife, Mrs. Margaret Atogwe, found hanging in her room. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the police want to determine whether the woman committed suicide or was murdered. Neighbours of the deceased said that the corpse was found dangling from the ceiling of a dark small room, believed to be the room of the deceased at No. 2 Abeh St., Ayogwiri. The Divisional Police Officer for Ayowiri, DSP Abdullahi Gusau, confirmed the incident, saying it had been reported to his office. ג€My officers were at the scene of the incident but we are still investigating what was the exact cause of the death. Efforts are on to bring about the true picture surrounding the controversial death,ג€™ג€™ he said. Abdullahi said that the case would be transferred to Benin as soon as investigations were concluded. The elder brother of the deceased, Mr. Francis Ayonote told NAN that the deceased could not have hanged herself. Ayonote said that the circumstances of her sisterג€™s death were questionable. He said that the deceased was found nude standing by her window with a rope round her neck and tied to the protector and not dangling as being claimed. Ayonote urged the police authorities to unearth the cause of death and bring the culprits to book http://sunnewsonline.com/new/cover/housewife-found-hanging-room-edo/ |
Though our oil is coming 4rm niger delta they should wake and find smth meaningful 2 do rather than sitting at home waiting 4 where they are sharing free money. |
Armed policemen from the Bayelsa State Police Command yesterday prevented aggrieved Bayelsa youths from setting ablaze a commercial bank over the Subsidy Re-Investment and Empowerment Prograame (SURE-P). According to investigations, the youths went berserk when the management of the bank told them that the programme has been cancelled. Checks indicated that the youths had besieged the bank on Thursday January 2 and informed the management that they have been directed to the bank to open accounts to benefit from SURE-P The bank management immediately designed a form and directed the youths to open an account tagged Kia Kia Account with N1, 000 pending when it would confirm from its headquarters and the SURE-P office in Abuja. However upon confirmation from its head office and the SURE-P office in Abuja that there was no scheme for Niger Delta youths, the bank management broke the news to the youths. Immediately there was pandemonium as the youths made moves to get petrol and set ablaze the bank, but the quick intervention of armed policemen deployed to the area saved the situation as they dispersed the youths. The youths retreated and began to attack innocent people around Amarata windscreens of many vehicles were shattered and many people were injured in the stampede that followed as the police shot tear gas to disperse them again. A staff in the bank who declined to mention his name confirmed that the bank designed a form and asked the interested youths to open an account with N1, 000 with the bank pending the confirmation from the bank headquarters in Abuja and SURE-P headquarters. He said it was when they told the youths that the bank was not handling any programme for SURE-P that triggered the violence. The Police Public Relations Officer of Bayelsa police command, Mr. Alex Akhigbe, who confirmed the development stated preliminary investigation by the police showed that none of the youths had opened account in that bank as directed and the form issued by the bank was done for free. Yes, it is true that the bank has issued them forms and asked them to open account. When the bank management got confirmation on the status of the programme, they informed the youths that it was a rumor. But the youths started throwing stones and damaging vehicles. The police were called and men were deployed to stop the situation from degenerating into a major crisis. No causality was recorded Source: http://www.sunnewsonline.com/new/national/sure-p-police-stop-bayelsa-youths-setting-ablaze-commercial-bank/ |
Nigeria police self. No detail on where d accident happened, no eyewitness report. I won't blame them sha. They are doing there work but they should bear one thing in mind that life is 2 short they amend there ways b4 is 2 late 4 them |
There is nth one will not see in this country. Imagine an appointee asking an elected gov 2 account 4 all d allocation he has received. What a country. What did her husband do as a V.C in futo. She is angry because she lost d ticket of being a deputy gov of imo state. Mama u 2 should be accountable |
Ndi Anambra: I am sure this Amaechi media hype is for those of you who do not leave/stay in Rivers state. For those of us who who had been leaving here for over a decade and till date, we know what we pass through to power our homes with energy from our generators because there is nothing like improved power supply in Phc. We know what we pass through in the hands of government "touts" sticker guys who their activities stampede business growths in Rivers state. We know what we pass through when we drive through the roads and streets of woji and many other areas in Phc. We know what we pass through during rainy season in this state. The schools that were built are heavily under utilised, no chairs and no committed teachers. How can they be committed when the 13,000 teachers Rotimi employed are yet to receive their first salaries after over 4 months they were employed!!! You cant find teachers in the class rooms of Phc public schools on wednesdays, I mean the popular oil mill market days!!!! We know what we pass through during the rainy season in Obigbo and Iriebe areas in Port Harcourt. Rotimi, please stop and rethink!! You have not performed any wonder, no you have not!!! I have visited "poor" Enugu state and I can see the magic of sick Chime with no oil money. I have been to Uyo and I can see Akpabio magic. Not in Rivers, not by Rotimi Amaechi. God bless Nigeria!U have made ur point. Judging 4rm ur point of view I noticed u only mention aspects of his administration. U knw a circuit can never be complete if d 2 polarity are not in place. we must wake up, be truthful and recommend when necessary. Ameachi hv tried in ph but he needs 2 Do more. He should be focused and stop fighting over soured milk. |
John Frankling: Which light in rivers state is this ubima man talking of, this man should just shut it, the transfomer in my street was even brought by nddc and not this noise makerBrother u are even enjoying down in ph. Come 2 abia throughout my stay there not even a flash. |
I am not surprise d way fabulous4u tackles everyone against d topic. This forum is only meant 2 enlighten ppl and equally 4 everyone 2 have his/her opinion made known. So pls brother allow ppl 2 Speak there mind and correct when it is necessary |
Nigerian self. because of this hotel u guys are complaining. Do u knw that if abacha, IBB, OBJ and past/present state governors uses d looted cash 2 invest in nigeria that our employment figure will increase thereby reducing unemployment rate in this country. |
rati ken: If NDDC awarded all these contracts, what then has amaechi done with all the state funds? Why would the FG or GEJ even initiate any seperate project when an NDDC is existing and doing lots of project. To even imagine that I even considered taking Amaechi seriously, he's just a much bigger fraud than FG and NDDC combined.Brother think b4 u write. I don't think u have been 2 rivers state b4. Ask ppl u knw that leave in river State don't sit in yobe and u think u knw what is happening in rivers state is not possible |
Brother u hv proven a point. But there is one thing u must understand here when one is talking of a federal govt project,he is not referring at projects being done by federal bodies. This federal bodies hv there own annual budget. Expansion of imo-rivers road is a typical example of federal govt project. My brother u should admit that the present president is not doing anything. What he is best in doing is privatisation our national companies. During Yaradua's tenure we saw lots of federal govt projects. He was determine 2 provide power that will serve d country. He embarked on massive rehabilitation of refineries. Throughout his tenure d price of fuel was stable and d power projects he started was at completion stage. So brother when u are creating a thread don't bring sentiments into it. We should learn 2 use d media 4 d well being of d citizens. That's my take |
orangemen: @researcher,My brother I don't agree with. We all knw that obj looted money 4rm our treasury but he really worked. He tackled so many issues we faced during that period. security, telecommunication, power infact he built majority of d power stations that are in use nw. He transformed d education sector, he introduced UBE, made our banking sector strong. He was the only president that increased the salaries of our workers without any union action, constructed the major federal roads in nigeria,he fought crime(EFCC), he set up agencies that are beneficial 2 d citizens like NAFDAC, NDDC etc. Brother stop being sentimental with ur comments. The topic is clear what are d achievements of OBJ since 8yrs of his tenure NOT d areas he failed during his 8yrs tenure. |
Brothers during d period when there crisis was heating ameachi did not hv. This happened 2 d extent that there was no single police officer in front of govt house. But presently things have normalized |
I can only remember a few Tech drawing teacher: Hummer (reason he comes 2 school with a bike) Economic.teacheer: B G( body guide) the guy is huge. Maths teacher. : piper (he uses only pipe 2 flog) The rest we call them by there surname ABS4 |
Anybody saying that rochas is not working should go 4 check up. Cant ppl see d projects themselves d hospitals under construction along aba road. Shoe and bags industry along naze poly road and many more project still ongoing. U can't start a project 2day and finish it tomorrow. |
