NGO's and first ladies should create an awareness campaign against this. This is so rampant in our universities these days.
HealthNigerian Girls Are Selling Their Eggs To Survive by Ikpeyi(op): 1:42pm On Apr 21
Nigerian girls are selling their eggs to survive. And nobody is talking about it.

Young women in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, university students, mostly are injecting fertility hormones and undergoing egg harvesting procedures to pay school fees and survive inflation. This is not rare anymore. It is a movement.
Over 94% of egg donors in Nigeria are motivated purely by money. Not altruism. Not medical awareness. Money.

A donor receives ₦150k–₦350k. The clinic charges the recipient up to ₦7 million for the same cycle. A broker pockets the difference. The girl with overworked ovaries gets the smallest cut of a transaction built on her body.

Here is what nobody tells these girls before they sign: the procedure "overclock" your reproductive system. Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome can cause severe abdominal pain, kidney failure, blood clots. And some women are donating 5, 6, 7 times. The long-term fertility data for Nigerian women? It barely exists.
Many are told the injections are "just vitamins."
This industry runs on desperation. When poverty leaves a woman no real choice, her signature on a consent form is not truly free. That is not empowerment. That is coercion with a clipboard.

Nigeria has no National ART Act. No donor cap. No mandatory insurance. Clinics self-regulate. Enforcement outside Lagos is virtually zero.
The "Sapa" economy is now harvesting biological material from our daughters and sisters, and calling it a side hustle.

Mothers, talk to your daughters. Policymakers, pass the ART Bill. Nigerians, let us have this conversation.
Your body is not a gig economy.

Gawuna’s phone “not reachable” as Tinubu mounts pressure to stop his defection to Kwankwasiyya

By News Desk
March 25, 2026

Nasir Yusuf Gawuna Nasir Yusuf Gawuna

A former Kano State deputy governor and 2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nasir Yusuf Gawuna, is now the most sought-after politician in Kano as President Bola Tinubu directed some top party leaders to stop his planned defection to the Kwankwasiyya movement and ultimately African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Mr Gawuna’s plan to align with Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso to unseat Governor Abba Yusuf in 2027 is gaining currency in Kano. While the move is causing a stir in the APC, the Kwankwasiyya camp is agog over the defection plan.

Already a group led by the chief imam of Mr Gawuna’s residential mosque, Ahmed Sabo Usman, had paid a Sallah homage to the Mr Kwankwaso at his Miller Road residence in Kano.

Party insiders told this newspaper that Mr Gawuna has been largely unreachable in recent days, fueling speculation about ongoing political consultations outside the country. Efforts by key stakeholders within the APC to reach him have reportedly been unsuccessful.

Sources disclosed that Mr Gawuna travelled to Saudi Arabia during Ramadan to perform the lesser hajj (Umrah). However, days after the end of the holy month, he has yet to return to Nigeria. A source familiar with his movements said the former deputy governor subsequently proceeded on a private vacation to a North African country.

According to the source, Mr Gawuna placed his phone on “Do Not Disturb” mode to avoid mounting pressure and persistent calls from the party leaders seeking to stop his defection.

A number of APC politicians who spoke to our reporter said Mr Gawuna could not be reached on phone since the news of his alleged plan to dump the APC began circulating on social media.

Mr Gawuna’s political move has rattled the Kano APC, prompting Governor Abba Yusuf to seek presidential support to persuade him not to leave the party.

Although details of the governor’s outreach remain unclear, insiders said Mr Tinubu had delegated a powerful senator from Zamfara State as well as a presidential adviser to lead the lobby.

According to one insider, APC is considering offering Mr Gawuna an automatic ticket for the Kano Central Senatorial District in the 2027 elections if he agrees to remain within its fold.

“The president is concerned about Gawuna’s defection plan. He is made to understand that not only Governor Yusuf’s second term ambition is at stake but the president’s support base in Kano,” said a source familiar with the presidential directive.

Pundits believe that Mr Gawuna is currently the most formidable governorship aspirant who can neutralize incumbency factor and further divide Kano APC during governorship and presidential elections.

“If Kwankwaso gives Gawuna governorship ticket, it will be a game over. Gawuna has a large support base among the youth, the ulama and business community. Apart from this, the APC will be further divided as most of the traditional supporters of the party will vote for Gawuna. So if you merge Gawuna’s political capital with Kwankwaso’s commanding support base, it will be a landslide win,” said a political pundit, Aminu Bashir.

Mr Gawuna, who polled over 800,000 votes in the 2023 governorship election, is reportedly undermined and relegated by his party. “It is baffling for APC to appoint someone who worked against his party as minister and then relegate someone who polled over 800,000 votes to a board chairman,” said an APC stalwart who preferred not to be named.

The supporters of the former deputy governor had been grumbling over what they perceive as his marginalisation within the APC since he lost election in 2023, and that he has not been considered for major federal appointments or strategic party roles.

There are also concerns among his loyalists regarding the reported non-payment of his entitlements as a former deputy governor by the state government, despite earlier call by a certain political figure for such obligations to be settled.

helinues:
grin cheesy

I watched one video on YouTube some days ago. It was about appointments into one of the FG institution department

811 plus was appointed from Anambra state alone while Bayelsa state had zero. Enugu or Abia had 65+. The appointments was supposed to be federal appointments which should include reasonable number from all states but unfortunately, the appointments had nothing less than 70+ Igbo's because the commission recruiting was held by an Igbo lady. She even said she was fair with the appointments

Before accusing others of something, people should endeavor to be looking into the mirrow, see who appears there before pointing fingers
Like the author who is a Yoruba Muslim rightly said "So here’s the final warning, for those who still care to listen".

Nigeria is Radicalizing the Igbo, One Injustice at a Time by Abolaji Rasaq

There’s something about persecution that does two things to a people: it either breaks them, or it makes them beasts of survival.

For centuries, they were hunted, hated, and humiliated by empires. But they didn’t vanish. They evolved. They adapted. And today, the Jews are arguably the most powerful tribe in the world economically, intellectually, and politically. Ruthless when necessary.

They are unapologetic about their survival. Now, look at the Igbo. A tribe known for industry, resilience, and brilliance. A people who just want to live, do business, and thrive. But Nigeria doesn’t want that. Nigeria wants control.

Nigeria wants submission. And the one thing the Igbo have never known how to do is bow. And that’s the real issue. So what does Nigeria do? It sidelines them. Isolates them. Provokes them. Bombs their villages under the guise of security.

Locks up their agitators. Shuts down their businesses. Mocks their pain. Ignores their history. Prevent them from voting. Playing politics with their education. Sponsored gigotry on them. And then Nigeria pretends to be surprised that there’s growing radicalization in the East?

Let me be clear: The Igbo didn’t start this fire. Nigeria did. And history, the very same history we keep refusing to learn from, has shown us that when you keep pushing a tribe that knows how to survive, they evolve into something stronger, something unstoppable.

It’s happened before. With the Jews. Europe tried to exterminate them. Instead, they became the backbone of global finance, media, tech, and diplomacy. You don’t touch a Jew today without consequences. You don’t push them to the wall and expect them to stay quiet.

Now Nigeria is doing the same to the Igbo, pushing, prodding, provoking. But here’s the warning: when you push an animal to the wall, it doesn’t stay calm. It fights back. It bites. And this time, when it bites, don’t act shocked.

But this isn’t just about the Igbo solely. Nigeria has perfected the art of creating monsters, then acting surprised when they bite. The Niger Delta? Radicalized. The region was exploited for oil, polluted beyond repair, and ignored until their youths picked up arms.

The Fulani terrorists? Radicalized. Left behind by the same government that claimed to represent them, now manipulated by religion and resentment.

The Almajiri? Radicalized. Abandoned by an elite that used their poverty as a vote bank and then left them to rot. The Agbero? Radicalized. Uneducated, weaponized, and unleashed as tools of political chaos.

Even the middle class is slowly being radicalized, not with guns, but with hopelessness. That, too, is a ticking time bomb.

A nation cannot continue to marginalize its most brilliant tribe and expect peace. The Igbo are not docile. They are not quiet. They are not forgetful. They are survivors, and survivors don’t beg for space forever. At some point, they take it.

The Igbo didn’t set out to be radicals. They were made into one by a country that won’t stop seeing their confidence as a threat. You can’t keep pretending unity means silence. You can’t keep preaching peace while planting injustice.

The Igbo are not asking for too much, they just want to live, build, and grow. But if you insist on turning their dignity into defiance, their enterprise into enmity, and their survival into sedition, then you are creating a monster.

And if history has taught us anything, it’s this: when a persecuted people decide that survival is no longer enough, when they decide to stop running and start resisting, they don’t just fight back. They win.

Nigeria must understand this: you cannot keep pushing people into a corner and expect submission. When you back a lion into a wall, don’t expect it to purr. It will roar. It will claw. It will tear through anything standing between it and freedom.

So here’s the final warning, for those who still care to listen: Nigeria is radicalizing the Igbo. But worse, Nigeria is radicalizing everyone. And it won’t end well.

When the fire spreads, when the rebellion multiplies, when the beast we created begins to fight back, don’t act shocked; no tribe will be left untouched. Don’t pretend it wasn’t preventable. We all made it happen. You don’t corner a lion and expect peace.
