I don't give a damn about what this old man has to say. Today is Independence day, Nigeria is 49.
It's 49 years since our destiny was given into our own hands. Instead of whining about 'atrocities', why don't we use this period to ask ourselves what we have done in that period to improve our lot?
No matter what claims anyone makes, we cannot have endured a harrowing experience like the Chinese did under colonialism and Japanese occupation. Look where they are now!
Remember Obama's speech. There comes a time when we need to SHUT UP about colonialism and focus on what we can do for ourselves.
If, on indepencence day of all days, you cannot see this simple truth that we are accountable for our issues, then i'm sincerely sorry for Nigeria and Nigerians.
