film3four: FAAN Shuts Enugu Airport For Emergency Runway Repairs
On the other hand, this should also be an opportunity for Chinua Achebe Airport in Anambra State to take charge and lobby for the slot to take over an Emergency substitute but I guess the stake holders are busy drinking big stout and eating pepper soup instead of doing the needful.

This is unacceptable. The airport needed repairs, yet they continued selling tickets. As a result, many trips have been canceled, leaving passengers stranded, particularly those on the Ethiopian Airlines flight to Addis Ababa.

Boxing heavyweight great George Foreman, who fought Muhammad Ali in the ‘Rumble in the Jungle,’ dead at 76
George Foreman, the two-time world heavyweight boxing champion and Olympic gold medalist whose legendary rivalry with Muhammad Ali culminated in the famous ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ title bout, died Friday according to a verified social media account dedicated to Foreman. He was 76.
The Instgram post reads: “Our hearts are broken. With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved George Edward Foreman Sr. who peacefully departed on March 21, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. A devout preacher, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grand and great grandfather, he lived a life marked by unwavering faith, humility, and purpose.
“A humanitarian, an Olympian, and two time heavyweight champion of the world, He was deeply respected — a force for good, a man of discipline, conviction, and a protector of his legacy, fighting tirelessly to preserve his good name— for his family.
“We are grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers, and kindly ask for privacy as we honor the extraordinary life of a man we were blessed to call our own.”
Known as one of the most powerful punchers in boxing history, Foreman won Olympic gold in only his 25th amateur fight devastated one of the all-time greats in Joe Frazier and went on to retain the heavyweight title twice before his now-iconic 1974 fight with Ali in Kinshasha, Zaire - now known as the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Foreman’s victory over Soviet fighter Jonas Čepulis at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico sparked the beginning of his professional career, but his celebration was also significant.
He took a small American flag and waved it to every corner of the stadium – a memorable moment, given that just ten days earlier his US teammates Tommie Smith and John Carlos gave the Black Power salute on the podium.
It was an action for which Foreman has no regrets, despite backlash when he returned to the US.
He told The Undefeated: “When I walked into the Olympic Village, I saw a couple of athletes who looked like me. I went to speak to them, but they couldn’t speak English. For the first time, I realized that the only thing that could identify us was our nation’s colors.
“I waved the flag so they knew I was American. Everyone started applauding, so I waved it higher. That is the only reason I had that flag. If I had to do it all over again, I would have had two flags in my pocket.”
He continued: “I proudly walked down Lyons Avenue in the Fifth Ward [in Houston] wearing my medal. A guy I thought was a friend walked up, looked me in the face and said, ‘How could you do what you did when the brothers [Smith and Carlos] were doing their thing?’ It … broke … my … heart. I didn’t expect that.”
Foreman turned professional, and won his first 37 bouts before taking on world heavyweight champion Joe Frazier in Kingston, Jamaica, in January 1973.
Despite being the clear underdog, Foreman knocked Frazier down six times in two rounds to claim the WBA and WBC heavyweight belts, and become heavyweight champion.
His two defenses of the title - first downing Puerto Rico’s Jose Roman in 50 seconds and then beating American Ken Norton, who had just defeated Ali, in just two rounds – set up the “Rumble in the Jungle” bout in Zaire in October 1974.
The event had huge cultural and political significance. The decision to hold the fight in Zaire was controversial, with criticism over human rights abuses and corruption under late President Mobutu Sese Seko. It was also seen as a platform for Black athletes to promote African unity.
The fight itself – which saw both contenders guaranteed $5 million each, a huge amount at the time in the sport - is seen as one of the greatest ever.
Using a tactic later known as “rope-a-dope,” Ali was able to withstand Foreman’s punches by leaning back on the ropes, before landing a series of blows in the eighth round in what turned out to be his only knockout defeat in a 28-year professional career.
“I thought this would be the easiest $5 million I was going to pick up,” Foreman told CNN following Ali’s death in 2016.
“I hit him hard in the third round, and he looked at me as if to say, ‘I’m not gonna take it!’
“He hit me with a quick one-two, knocked me down to the canvas and my whole life changed. I was devastated. Little did I know I would make the best friend I ever had in my life.”
A dedicated Christian, Foreman became an ordained minister after losing his second professional boxing match in 1977 and retired from the sport.
Ten years later, despite being out of shape physically, Foreman returned to the ring at the age of 39, even taking on the 28-year-old Evander Holyfield in 1991 in a fight dubbed “The Battle of the Ages,” though he ultimately lost via unanimous decision.
Foreman went on to stun the boxing world in 1994 when he won the IBF and WBA heavyweight titles by defeating Michael Moorer. It was 20 years after his loss to Ali.
In an interview with Boxing News in 2023, Foreman said the victory felt more special than his first heavyweight title win against Frazier.
“The second time I made a point of believing it,” he said. “The first time I didn’t believe it. When you fight for the heavyweight championship of the world it does feel unbelievable, it doesn’t feel like you’re really there, it could be a dream. ‘You’re going to wake up soon, you don’t belong in the ring with these guys.’”
Foreman finally retired for good in 1997, with a career record of 76 wins - 68 by KO - and five losses.
An impoverished youngster, Foreman grew up as one of seven children in the troubled Fifth Ward in Houston, and often bullied younger children before dropping out of high school.
He joined the Job Corps when he was 16, doing construction work and forestry – and it was there that he met Job Corps counsellor and boxing coach Doc Broaddus, which set Foreman on the way to a glittering career.
Foreman also enjoyed major success as an entrepreneur, with his “George Foreman Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine” product debuting in 1994 and going on to sell more than 100 million units worldwide.
He also launched a clothing line and a short-lived reality TV show starring himself with his wife Mary Joan and 12 children – including five boys named George.
Foreman continued to preach at his church in Houston.
“My mother [Nancy] would have approved of [my ministry work] in a way she never did my boxing,” Foreman told Sorted magazine in March 2024.
In 2019, Foreman’s daughter Freeda, a former professional boxer, died by apparent suicide. He posted on social media about his “first Sunday in 42 years without my Freeda”.
In 2022, two women accused Foreman of sexually abusing them when they were minors in the 1970s, according to lawsuits filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Foreman denied the allegations, and in March 2024 filed a court declaration requesting that one of the lawsuits was tossed out. CNN has previously reached out to representatives for Foreman for comment on allegations of sexual abuse and assault.
A film about his life – “Big George Foreman” – was released in 2023. He told CNN that delving into his past was difficult and seeing his struggles growing up on screen moved him to tears.
“You go through life building a big fence, bricks and everything to cover up your life, to hide your life,” he said. “Then all of a sudden, you got to reveal all those things you’re trying to hide.
“It’s not easy to tell a story about your life when you really spend a lifetime hiding your life.”

iykbethany: We recently planted 1,000 Malaysian Supergene oil palm seedlings at iykbethany Farms Ltd. Our goal is to plant 5,000 Malaysian Supergene seedlings within 3 years.
Some of the Tenera oil palm seedlings we planted 4 years ago have started fruiting. Agroblessing (beboy23) from nairaland handled that Tenera project as well as our pineapples, bananas and plantain and greenhouse projects.
Tomorrow I will talk about my journey with the greenhouse project so far.
I got into agriculture to create jobs, create wealth and food security.
Iykbethany Farms is a project that is very important to me, but the journey hasn't been easy at all. There have been trials and errors along the way.
I'm documenting everything so others can learn from the process, struggles, and mistakes.
For those who want to know the difference between Nigerian Tenera and Malaysian Supergene:
- Supergene seedling (Malaysian Dwarf Oilpalm) takes 6-8 months to flower and 2-3 years to fruit, while Tenera fruits in 4-5 years. - Malaysian Supergene oil palm seedling is the most Productive Oil Palm Hybrid worldwide. - Supergene oil palm seedling is more disease-resistant compared to Tenera. - Malaysian Supergene oil palm seedling has a higher Oil-to-Bunch Ratio, more than 25%, bigger seeds, thinner shells, and smaller kernels compared to Tenera.
Generally speaking, Malaysian Supergene oil palm seedling is much better. The nuts are bigger, the productivity is higher, and the waiting period before production is greatly reduced.
A nursery in Enugu handled this Malaysian Supergene seedling project. We bought one seedling @2,200 Naira.
sexyto: May be too much speed and weak roof structure.
No such thing as weak roof structure, every car around the world almost use the same material. You should have left it at "too much speed". The poster should also ask why does gun kill people? People always want to apportion blame on something else leaving out the real culprit.
Kanye West Now Worth Estimated $6.6B Thanks to Lucrative Gap, Adidas Deals
Kanye West is now worth a staggering $6.6 billion, as revealed in a new Bloomberg report and confirmed by a rep to Billboard.
According to a private document obtained by the outlet, Yeezy – West’s sneaker and apparel business with both Adidas and Gap – has been valued at between $3.2 billion to $4.7 billion by the Swiss investment bank UBS Group. As much as $970 million of that total is tied to West’s new clothing line for Gap (under the Yeezy Gap label) that the retailer has slated for release by July, part of a 10-year agreement the parties signed in June of last year.

The document further reveals that Gap, an ailing brand whose partnership with West represents a play for younger consumers, expects its Yeezy line to break $150 million in sales in its first full year in 2022 and envisions it surpassing a billion dollars in revenue within eight years, or even as soon as 2023 on the upside. West stands to profit handsomely in any event, as he retains sole ownership and creative control of the Yeezy brand and earns royalties on sales under the deal, with the rate increasing as the business grows. He'll also receive stock warrants when the collection hits sales targets, with the highest set at $700 million, according to a securities filing.
West’s longstanding deal with Adidas has been the most lucrative part of his business endeavors to date, with Yeezy sneakers continuing to fly off of shelves; according to the documents, the brand grew 31% to nearly $1.7 billion in annual revenue last year, netting Yeezy royalties of $191 million. West has been in business with the company since 2013, with their current deal running through 2026.
Kim Kardashian Files for Divorce From Kanye West An unaudited balance sheet of West’s finances, provided to Bloomberg by his lawyer, shows an additional $122 million in cash and stock and more than $1.7 billion in other assets, including an investment in his wife Kim Kardashian’s underwear label Skims (Kardashian filed for divorce in February).
West’s music catalog is worth another $110.5 million, according to a 2020 valuation by Valentiam Group cited by Bloomberg.
The numbers revealed today represent a decidedly sharp turnaround for West, who in 2016 claimed to be $53 million in debt; at the time, he also took to Twitter to implore Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg to invest $1 billion in his work. That was before West himself was named a billionaire by Forbes, which estimated his net worth at $1.3 billion in April 2020.
okeychris: Ogbunka, an agrarian community in Orumba South Local Government Area, Anambra State has been in turmoil for the past two months owing to emergence of two traditional rulers at a time. OKECHUKWU ONUEGBU captures the moods of the people on why the impasse should be resolved for development to thrive in the community which has been without a monarch for 12 years.
In Ogbunka, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra state, two persons are laying claims to the traditional stool. The duo, it was gathered are Igwe JohnMark Anyaoha and Igwe Forster Ihejiofor, all yet to receive certificate of recognition from the Anambra state government.
Anyaoha, it was learnt, was crowned on December 2, 2020 by few persons in a traditional rulership election observed by a team from the Anambra State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, while Ihejiofor was crowned on December 5, 2020 and enjoys the support of almost the entire populace including the youths, the elders and ruling class of Ogbunka.
As a result, the agrarian community endowed with both human and material including iron ore, granite and clay deposits, has not known peace as the crisis has degenerated into protests and counter proteicts with pressure on the state government to or not recognise any faction.
A community leader, Chief Mathew Ezeabiakwa, who introduced himself as the traditional Prime Minister of Ogbunka said in a telephone interview that JohnMark emerged through a peaceful process that is in line with the chieftaincy constitution of Ogbunka and the Anambra state traditional rulers law.
“Ogbunka has a constitution and Anambra state has traditional rulers law. You can find out the truth from the Commissioner for Local government, Town Union and Chieftaincy matters or the Special Adviser to the Governor on Town Union Matters. We followed the Anambra state law and the constitution of Ogbunka before crowning our king, Igwe Johnmark Anyaoha. There is no problem in my community. The Igwe’s cabinet crowned Igwe Johnmark according to the constitution of Ogbunka and the constitution of Anambra state law,” Ezeabiakwa added.
According to him, “We wrote the village that supposed to produce the next Igwe and they sent two persons; Dr Forster Ihejiofor and Chief Johnmark Anyaoha and two of them completed forms before the Igwe’s cabinet. They paid N250,000 each. They appeared on 22 and 25th January, 2020 respectively.” The community has five villages; Awuka, Isiokpu, Umunebo, Agbana and Akwaoba.
But the Chairman, Ogbunka Cabinet Chiefs, Chief Chris Ifeanacho, disputed Chief Ezeabiakwa's claim, noting that the faction went contrary to Ogbunka traditional ruler’s constitution (1985) as amended by electing JohnMark.
“We just heard that few individuals gathered at night in his house and made him Igwe. It came as a surprise to us. I don’t even know where he was installed and how he was installed. There was no invitation to any person. We just woke up to hear that Johnmark is now the Igwe Ogbunka but the Igwe Ogbunka we know for now is Igwe Dr. Forster Ihejiofor and for peace to reign in Ogbunka, we are begging Governor Willie Obiano not to issue any certificate of recognition to the wrong person,” Ifeanacho stated.
He said that Dr. Forster was installed by the representative Head of the most senior village which according to him, is Isiokpu in Ogbunka who incidentally is the custodian of Ogbunka traditional symbol of authority, the ofor Ogbunka, Chief Dr. Samuel Ikedi who he said convened the meeting for the installation on December 4th, 2020.
“Our method of selecting a traditional ruler is enshrined in the Ogbunka Chieftaincy constitution of 1985 as amended. The constitution stated that Igweship in Ogbunka should be rotational, starting from Awuka village and in total obedience to this constitution, Ogbunka has given Awuka village the opportunity to select Igwe Ogbunka in line with what the constitution says .
“The constitution also stated that the eldest family in the eldest village, will install Igwe Ogbunka and in line with the dictates of the constitution, the Isiokpu village has the staff of authority of Ogbunka (Ofor) and that was where the HRH Igwe Dr. Forster Ezenwa Ihejiofor emerged and installed to the knowledge of all elders and stakeholders. I have not seen the kind of crowd that trooped out the day he was crowned. He danced from Orie market to his father’s house and to his own personal house.
“All the Ogbunka people, old and young, men and women, the youth, children were all present. The eldest family in Ogbunka, Umudiala, represented by Chief Felix Ike performed the installation ceremony. So we did not in any way derail from the constitution. We had another good person, Prof Promise Okpala who also indicated interest but stepped down for Dr. Foster,” he added.
On why Ihejiofor was chosen by ‘all’, elder Chris Ifeanacho said, “Igwe Dr. Foster Ihejiofor singlehandedly transformed this community. He is a great philanthropist, not only here in Ogbunka but across towns and cities in Anambra state. He singlehandedly built a multimillion naira civic centre for this town, he built a cottage hospital here and another at Atani in Ogbaru council area of Anambra state. He gave scholarship to many, built houses for many youths and widows and sent many abroad for further studies. Igwe Foster Ihejiofor has over 200 graduates from this town, gives helping hand to Churches irrespective of denominations, he brought skill acquisition centre in Ogbunka for our youths and gives palliatives to indigent Ogbunka people annually, these philanthropy endeared him to our people and he is our Igwe”
On his part, the Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on Community Liaison, Owelle Godson Obi appealed to the two factions and their supporters to remain peaceful while imploring the governor to hearken to the people cry not to issue certificate of recognition to wrong person.
Obi, who is the former Chairman, Orumba South LGA and former State Assistant Treasurer of the state ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance ( APGA), said they were never against the government they have benefitted from but only want the people’s choice to prevail over the minority.
"We are still pleading to this government to do the right thing and the right thing is to give the certificate of recognition to our Igwe-elect, Dr. Forster Ezenwa Ihejiofor. I am speaking on my personal capacity as Owelle Ogbunka and a foremost king maker in this town. Nothing is confusing about the Igweship stool of Ogbunka. I ruled with the late Igwe and we ruled very well.
“ If there is a place where they gather and said that Chief Johnmark will be Igwe of Ogbunka, I, Owelle was not there and I will not part of such discussion. So there is no how Johnmark will be an Igwe of Ogbunka without the chiefs and king makers. One person does not make king. So, my appeal to our amiable governor is very simple because Ogbunka community is a lover of peace and all the things we do including this Igweship thing. We anchor it on peace because without peace, there will be no progress. The government should recognize Igwe-elect Dr. Foster Ihejiofor (Igwe Ohazurume )as the choice of the people of Ogbunka, “ he noted.
Also, Ogbunka Youth Association in a communiqué issued at the end of its emergency Meeting held on January 15 2021 upheld the election of Ihejiofor and asked the government to abide by that.
The communiqué was signed by General President Ogbunka Youth Association, Comr. Ezendu Chisom Ifeanyichukwu; and leadership of the five village youths namely, Awuka Youth Leader Comr. Okoli Chinedu; Isiokpu Youth Leader, Comr. Umeh Nnaemeka; Agbala Youth Leader, Comr. Anula Micheal; Umunobe Youth Leader, Comr. Anyacho Ignatius; and Akwuoba Youth Leader, Comr. Ezeabikwa Chidozie.
A part of it read, “Ogbunka has been without a traditional ruler for the past 12 years, after the demise of our late Igwe Esiobu. On 5th of December 2020, the traditional leaders of the entire five villages of Ogbunka, the Amala, Titled chiefs, Red cap Chiefs and Kingmakers of Ogbunka, gathered in a general ceremony in the presence Ogbunka Development Union and the general public, to elect the true King of Ogbunka, HRH Igwe Ohazurume Chief Dr Forster Ihejiofor, Nka 1 of Ogbunka. The “offor” or symbol of authority was also publicly handed to our new Igwe.
“In addition, on the 7th of January 2021, the heads of all traditional authority in Ogbunka ancient Kingdom, the individual heads of all five villages in Ogbunka and holders of the village symbols of authority, also gathered to present HRH Igwe Dr Forster Ihejiofor, with a formal letter of recognition, as the Igwe of Ogbunka Kingdom. Today, we the general body of Ogbunka Youth Association, also publicly declare HRH Igwe Dr Forster Ihejiofor, as the duly elected and constitutionally recognized Igwe of Ogbunka kingdom.”
“We want to use this opportunity to alert all legally constituted authority, including the police, the military and all security operatives, Anambra state government, traditional rulers in Anambra state, and all peace-loving citizens of Anambra state, that we the youths of Ogbunka, will not sit by, and allow one man try to truncate the will of the people of Ogbunka. We plead with the government of Anambra state and security operatives to support us and work in line with the will of Ogbunka people.”
Contacted, a public relations officer in the ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy & Community Affairs, Mr. Henry Nwasike, exonerated the ministry from the crisis rocking Ogbunka, maintaining that they were only invited to observe the selection of Chief JohnMark Anyaoha which they did, but the other camp that elected Dr Foster Ihejiofor failed to invite the ministry to observe what they did.
He, however, assured that Government will not issue any certificate to any of the two traditional rulers elect in Ogbunka until the issue is amicably resolved.
They should allow the will of the people to prevail.
