Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola said May 29 handover should be more focused on informing Nigerians about the direction the new government will be taking instead of usual fanfare. According to him, this is how inaugurations are marked across the world. Fashola said “I think we should do what normal countries do as regards inauguration. There should not be too much fanfare about this. We should understand that the tenure of the current administration will end on the midnight of May 28. “A new President and new government are in office subject to the constitutional requirement of Section 140 of the constitution to declare their assets and take their oath of office. So, essentially, what people see during the day is ceremonial. “The law has taken its course at midnight. So, that is the most important thing. So, I hope at various state levels and national level, we will hear indicative directions about which way we are going (on inauguration day)” Share www.360afronews.com/2015/05/fashola-wants-low-key-inauguration.html?m=1 |

In a 92 page document, Kashamu had previously explained that even though he was incarcerated in Brixton Prisons in London between 1998 and January 10, 2013, Judge Tim Workman had verified that the allegations against him in the US was a case of mistaken identity and that the Judge had also found out that the person the DEA in the US wanted for smuggling drugs into the US was his brother, Alhaji Adewale Adeshina Kasamu, who looked a lot like him. He said when that was verified, he was released from prison and he returned to Nigeria to start a business. He said he was lured into politics by some friends in PDP and within the course of being in politics he had made some enemies including former President Obasanjo . He claimed that recently Obasanjo had been pressurising the AGF to take steps to extradite him to the US even without a request from the US authorities. He alleged that his lawyer, Prince Ajibola Oluyede, told him in October last year that Chief Godwin Obla (SAN),told Oluyede that Obasanjo boasted that he was making arrangements with some US officials in the region to have Kashamu abducted and flown in a private plane to the US. He said it was not right and that they were infringing on his fundamental rights hence the lawsuit against the Chairman of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and 11 others to court over an alleged plot to extradite him to the United States of America to face trial on alleged drug-related offences. Kashamu urged the court to declare as unlawful the alleged collusion between the 12 respondents and his political opponents, led by Obasanjo, to abduct and forcibly transport him to the US. Apart from the NDLEA chairman, also joined as respondents in the suit marked FHC/L/CS/505/15 are the Inspector General of Police, Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Director General, Department of State Service; the Interpol National Central Bureau; and the Attorney General of the Federation. www.360afronews.com/2015/05/kashamu-sues-ndlea-11-others-for-trying.html?m=1 |

Recruited officers of the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) and Federal Task Force (FERMA) have accused the Lagos State coordinator of the programme of owing them three years salaries running into millions of naira. The officers during a protest on Monday at the office of the National Human Rights Commission, Oshodi, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, equally protested against the fraudulent extortion of money from them by some executives of the programme. The protesters accused their National officers and chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos as being responsible for subjecting them to such dehumanising condition and extorting money from them, adding that the management was using the SURE-P/FERMA job to exploit desperate job seekers for their selfish political gains. The protesters carrying placards with offensive inscriptions on it, sang and chanted solidarity songs alleging that they were mandated to pay outrageous sums before they were employed for the job, adding that three years after employment and resumption of duties they are yet to be paid a dime. www.360afronews.com/2015/05/video-duped-sure-p-employees-protest-in.html?m=1 |

Think about it… you find yourself cooped up with your special someone, and then you find yourself about to lean in for a kiss And, just like anyone else who’s new or confused about that particular scenario, you probably ask yourself, ‘ just how should I do this?!‘ Like many other people, you’re not alone. Even though it happens out of habit, quite a few people get lost or even outright intimidated by kissing their girl/boyfriend. Just put these 10 simple tips into practice if you want to be a pro! 1. Maintain Oral Hygiene & Avoid Bad Breath! Brush teeth twice – That’s why it’s always important to make sure you, well, brush your teeth twice a day – or after a meal – to maintain your mouth fresh and clean. Maintaining your oral health is probably one of the most crucial things you can do. Doubly so if you plan on making use of your lisp regularly. Have emergency mints – You should also make your breath fresh, too. Chewing some gum, mints or even using spray helps keep the mouth fresh even after you’ve brushed a while ago. 2. Have Well Hydrate Lips Now, there’s nothing wrong with licking them both before kissing, though that’s just a temporary fix for the bigger picture here. It’s uncomfortable to kiss others with dry lips, so you should at least make sure they stay well hydrate before you lean in. However, if you want to have them moist and soft, you should think about using moisturisers such as: Lip balms Glossies Drinking lot of liquids All these can keep them hydrated! Just a tip: Drinking water regularly can help to make your skin well hydrated — and that affects your lips, too! 3. Give Signals That You Want to Kiss Her & See How She Responds My 3 Step Test Before Going in For The Kiss You can start by dropping hints that you want to approach her, usually through: Before you start kissing her, let her know. Though, letting a girl know about something that intimate takes a bit of effort. It’s better to ease them into things, rather than force—you’ll just turn her off altogether. Keeping your lips slightly parted (making them look more appealing). Giving her gentle eye contact. Glancing right at her lips. Even though you might not think so, she’s looking for it — so, don’t be afraid to invite her into a kiss. 4. Either Close or Lower Your Eyes While it might look comfortable, having your eyes open can get quite awkward really fast. So, it’s best to keep them closed or, at least, partially open when you’re kissing your lover. Not only does it make the whole process feel much more comfortable, but it helps make the mood that much more tantalizing. If you are a bit nervous about, well, a blocked view, why not use your hands and arms to draw your special someone closer? They’ll probably want it, too. 8. Use Sucking, Biting & Licking of Her Lips as Well as Tongue You don’t just have to kiss — put some more effort into it! And by effort we mean that you shouldn’t be afraid to mix it up a little. When you’re in the act itself, try gently sucking her lips, usually the bottom one. You can even carefully nibble on her bottom lip to change it up, especially if it makes her respond favourably. 9. Do Not Forget to Tease Her! Teasing goes a long way just before the act. So, don’t just keep it in one place! Wrap your hands and arms around her body, wherever she feels most comfortable. Talk to her in between and never break your eye contact when you reach there. You can even try mixing it up with how you kiss, perhaps pulling away and meeting her again to play around a little. 10. Add Extra Sensations – Touch Her Cheek & Nape of Her Neck Adding extra sensations goes a long way in this act. So, don’t be afraid to touch her! As we mentioned, get her close to your body wherever’s most comfortable. Nape of her neck – You can even rest your hands gently upon this place, working up to massage her scalp and back again when you’re kissing her. Focus on cheeks – Try touching her cheek too — it just feels comforting and she’ll really like it!

The All Progressives Congress will firmly be in control of the 8th House of Representatives as the majority party with over 214 members. There are a total of 360 seats in the second chamber of the National Assembly. Figures emerging from the outcome of the March 28 National Assembly poll, show that APC members are now 214, against the Peoples Democratic Party, which has 125 law makers. The statistics gives a gap of 89 between the APC and the PDP in favour of the former. Three other political parties, Labour Party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance and Accord Party, share the balance of 10 seats, bringing the total to 360. The distribution of the figures shows that the APC has the highest membership haul from the North-West with 81 lawmakers, as against the PDP’s zero score for now. It is followed by the South-West, where it won 47 seats compared to the PDP’s 20. In the North-Central, the party got 41 seats and left eight for the PDP. The APC’s performance in the North-East was 40 as against the seven seats won by the PDP. The PDP’s strongest zone is the South-South, where it produced 52 members, compared to the APC’s three. Huge debts await Buhari, in-coming govs AFTER the euphoria of their electoral victories, one of the major challenges that will confront the President-elect, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), and 20 or 21 new governors is the level of debt stock the out-going administrations will leave behind. According to the Debt Management Office, DMO, the Federal Government has a stock of $6.445 billion in external debt (N1.29 trillion at the rate of one dollar to N200)) and another N7. 9 trillion domestic debt totalling N9.19 trillion, as of. December 31, 2014. This is the equivalent of two years budget. The huge debt stock, if not properly managed, can hamper the delivery of democracy dividends. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/huge- debts-await-buhari-in-coming-govs/#sthash.ZKS5qcEP.dpuf

We all know that first impressions count, in this case, impressing your potential future employer is of the utmost importance. Often, people apply for a position, without updating their CV or giving the process much thought. Mistake! This is (basically) the reason you are still unemployed, friend. You’re your own worst enemy. Follow these 10 points and be sure to get a call-back, and soon... 1. According to bbc.com, potential employers can easily discern between a generic CV and one that comes with great effort. So make sure you constantly edit and update your CV according to the job and department/company you are applying for. 2. Keep your CV concise with just enough of the important information. Keep it to two pages. 3. Always, but always include a cover letter to give potential employers a sense of who you are and how you would fit into their work environment and company culture. Then remember to tailor this letter each and every time you apply for a new job, says The Guardian. 4. Don’t forget the basics: personal contact details, education, qualification, experience and references. Sometimes, it’s all in the details. 5. Every potential employer would prefer a presentable, neat and professional CV according to the National careers service. There are different formats to choose from, but we say simple is always the best. And please, don’t go too colourful. Oh, and don’t ever apply using a selfie as your ID picture. 6. Double check before you press send, eliminate any spelling or grammatical errors. That is the main sign of professionalism. Get. It. Right. 7. The Guardian stresses that one should understand the job description clearly before applying. Clearly present your skills that match the requirements, and fill in the blanks with related and transferable skills while upholding your honesty and integrity. 8. Include interests that are useful for the job in active language, for example: "I enjoy working in a team/ have excellent leadership skills" - and rather leave out irrelevant hobbies. 9. Make sure you are qualified for the job. Jobs.ac.uk noted that before you send out your CV, you should make sure it matches your interests, qualifications and skills. Otherwise, it’s just a big waste of time for everyone involved. 10. Always keep a compressed copy of your CV says studentbeans.com: some recruiters will ask for a shorter and more summarised version. Therefore, take your most important information and get straight to the point, keeping to one page. |
Abuja - The Federal Government has reassured that Nigeria is financially sound and has been meeting its local and international financial obligations despite dwindling revenues from crude oil exports, Punch reports. The Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, said the country is not broke despite the cash crunch currently being experienced contrary to reports. Also read: Nigeria is not broke- Okonjo-Iweala She said that with the financial assets the President Goodluck Jonathan administration had been able to build over the years, the nation’s cash flow would improve over time. She said the fact that oil prices fell by 50 per cent makes it very difficult in terms of cash flow, but Nigeria is asset rich and that is why she marvels when people say Nigeria is broke. Obanikoro And Amaechi Embarrass Themselves In Twitter Fight Obanikoro cast the first stone in a Tweet while boasting about congratulating Governor-Elect Ambode for his successful campaign in Lagos State. Mr. Obanikoro lost to Jimi Agbaje during his primary campaign to run for governor of Lagos State on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket. Former Senator and controversial minister Musiliu Obanikoro and Governor of Rivers State Rotimi Amaechi took turns attacking one another on Twitter over the disputed election in Rivers State. Obanikoro cast the first stone in a Tweet while boasting about congratulating Governor-Elect Ambode for his successful campaign in Lagos State. Mr. Obanikoro lost to Jimi Agbaje during his primary campaign to run for governor of Lagos State on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket I congratulated Ambode based on the larger interest of Lagos State. Amaechi and his co-travelers in Rivers State should learn from this. #MO 9:56 PM - 13 Apr 2015 Musiliu Obanikoro @MObanikoro Follow 286 RETWEETS 28 FAVORITES Governor Amaechi then lashed back at Obanikoro in a series of Tweets arguing that the Rivers State election must be canceled due to poll fraud: Mr. Obanikoro then responded with a series of his own Tweets by inferring polling irregularities in the north. Obanikoro then concluded his Twitter attacks by saying “don’t also forget the history of how you became Governor of Rivers State,” referring to the widely-held belief that Amaechi rigged his election in Rivers State. SaharaReporters reached out to Governor Amaechi’s office for his response to Obanikoro’s latest Tweets, but they were unavailable at the time of writing. Governor Amaechi did re- Tweet some of his supporters pointing some inaccuracies with Mr. Obanikoro's statements. Mr. Obanikoro was recently appointed to a lackluster cabinet position by President Jonathan, after he lost his primary bid to be governor of Lagos State and after the revelation of his involvement in rigging the Ekiti State gubernatorial elections for the PDP.
