I do not want any kinds of relationship. I do not want to make any commitments or I do not want somebody's commitments. (I don't believe) So could I still pursue romance? I have the normal sex desire as other people do. Or I need to withhold it until I find Mr. Right? (I do not think I will get married anyways.) If the answer is YES. Then what are the consequences? I do not want to make myself or the guy into trouble. |
Thanks Tpia and Ice. Is it a joke? Just found the post was moved to the joke board. ![]() |
My friend's birthday is coming soon. What is the best birthday gift to give to him? |
Does it really mean he likes you? |
I just don't know why you cannot take somone seriously when you really want someone. |
Yeah. But they are all in a relationship or married. For singles, I only know guys. |
Sir, it seems you are telling a joke. For the girls who have brains will not believe they are gonna to be paid well. Reason: For someone who are going to pay well will not fix the camera and shout in the forum. They will buy a new camera. |
24 - 30 for girls. After 30, a woman might not have the desire to get married at all. I do not know the right age for man to get married . Maybe they can get married at any time as long as they have something. (fame or money) |
if money , sex or relationship is not involved. do you believe that there is pure friendship? |
The joke itself is very interesting. It teaches us "Dare to try". By the way, where did you find the joke? |
My impression: starting with the most important: They love to smile. Most of them are friendly. For Nigerian guys in Lagos, some of them say "I love you" very easily. |
1st, girlfriends are NOT for sale. (whether it is imagination or not). boyfriends are NOT for sale, either. |
Faint, Life is so hard. |
Most of my colleagues use MTN. Company gave me the glo number, so I use glo, and I cannot change the # since I need to inform all my friends/colleagues about the # change. I am too lazy for that. Glo is expensive. (Maybe all the networks are expensive). If I use certain amount, glo will give me free mid night calls to another glo number. (I never use it since I do not want to bother my friend in the mid night) |
It is just an exception. You cannot say all black women are not good. |
Someone who takes it seriously might get hurt although you don't want to hurt her. Whether it should be made clear at the very beginning that you don't want a relationship at all until you find Miss Right? |
Actually ugly or not, it is not easy to tell, because everyone can use make ups. Cosmetics will make girls beautiful. |
Thank you. My letter in the bottle will never reach the destination, I never tried though. |
Thanks. I do know. We have the same words in Chinese language. I cannot believe that some people here are so friendly and straightforward. |
Phone? Mail? E-mail? MSN messenger? Yahoo messenger? Facebook? Twitter? Linkedin? |
Thanks. Then it might be the cultural difference. |
Just want to get a precise answer for my question. I wonder whether it is the same in Nigeria as I said in my home country it is not polite to ask for contact information from someone you don't know well. I am not dreaming about anybody and I do not need a kind of relationship. ( a relationship might be too extravagent for me). In Lagos, I just want to work hard and save money to make a living. Then I will go back to school to pursue a master degree. |
Maybe not ugly. |
Is English your second language? Your reply reminds me of the time when I was preparing TOEFL writing test. For me, chatting with handsome guys or pretty girls or non handsome guys or common looking girls doesn't make a lot of difference as long as he/she is nice and friendly. I am no longer a young girl looking for a boyfriend or lover. Of course, good looking guys can lead to some fantasies. In Lagos, quite a few handsome looking guys want to be my friend. (I don't know, maybe the guys I think as handsome are not handsome in Nigerian girls' eyes) Spend time here is ok. Romance board is my 1st choice. Then I might take a look at the Food board. I love Nigerian food. |
Actually it is a waste of time. Cuz Saturday night, nothing to do, so I could spend some time online. Here is a good place to kill time and spit out the guts. Probably it is good to miss the chance. What is missed, I am not going to make up for it. I do not think I am that kind of person unless it is related to my life. If we could be friends, I will be glad to. If not, no wahala. Friendship also requires time to develop, that's why I do not need too many friends. |
I guess I will just give it up. Inconvenient to travel that branch for the second time since I am fully occupied with work during work time. Last time was just there to help my oga to re-activate his email account. I only know his first name. I guess he also knows my name since he saw my company name tag. I just cannot forget him. I do not know why. Actually a lot of handsome looking Nigerian guys in the company I am working for. Customer service representative doesn't need to give out personal contact information, right? He/She can always ask customers to check the customer service number on their company website. |
Thanks all for the replies. What if he refused to tell me? He is a good looking, friendly gentleman. Actually, I have asked for his name card. But he told me it is not available. My another concern is there might be no contact even after contact information is exchanged. After one year in Lagos, I still do not know how Lagos people think. In my home country, it might be impolite/insuitable for a girl to ask contact information from a guy (she is not familiar with). |
I went to MTN Surulere branch early this week to help my oga to re-activate the account. The guy who helped me in doing this left me good impression. We talked a little bit when the account activation is in process. But I do not know whether it is okay to ask for his contact information. Anyways, he didn't tell me, so I didn't ask. After everything was done, I just left since other customers were also waiting in line. I guess it might be inappropriate for me to ask for email address in the first place. What are your opinions? |
For me, they never call. They only flash. I am tired of it. |
