Crime / NDLEA Arrests Man With Fake N9.8Million Notes In Kwara (Photos) by ImanuelJannah(m): 1:36am On Aug 13, 2016
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Kwara on Friday said it arrested Mohammed Adamu for possessing N9.8 million fake currency notes.

The NDLEA Commander in the state, Mr Apeh Reuben, who presented the suspect to newsmen in Ilorin said the fake currency were mainly N1,000 notes.

Reuben said Adamu concealed the fake notes in a carton of noodles wrapped with cello tape.

He said that the suspect was arrested by NDLEA Jebba Command while on transit to Kano on Aug. 9, 2016.

The commander said that Adamu conspired with a yet-to-be-identified individual in Ilorin to carry out the act.

He said, “Investigation is in process aimed at arresting the accomplice,” adding that the agency was a alerting the public on the fake money in circulation.

“We just want to alert the public to be aware of such fake money because if this amount of money is allowed to be injected into the economy, it is very bad.

“A lay man can hardly identify that they are fake currency. These days we even have cases of people collecting money from ATM and still find fake currency in them,” he added.

The suspect, who spoke to newsmen in Hausa language, admitted that the fake currency was found on him.

SEE MR SALARIES EVADER TALKING

The amount of funds going into personal and family coffers of mr governor is more than a state total budget in Nigeria. Don't quote me because we know where Oyo state funds are hiding only that we cant query it because the occupier belongs to the ruling party.
Come to Oyo state and see how mr governor has abandoned his primary responsibilities, even to the sinking primary and secondary education to the grave.

The state IGR has been trimmed down to purse while they keep increasing the state workforce without employing a goat. Yet Oyo governor claimed to be the most performing governor Nigeria ever had.
Hmmm..Are you serious?

Oyo Govt to Begin Prosecution of Tax Evaders
August 17

Oyo - In a bid to improve Internally Generated
Revenue, IGR, Oyo State Government has said it
would begin prosecution tax evaders on Aug. 17.

Mr Biyi Oloko, the Special Adviser, Board of Internal
Revenue Service, disclosed this while briefing
newsmen in Ibadan on Thursday.

He said that increased IGR would make the state
government to be self-sustaining and enhance
development.

According to reports, Pay As You Earn (PAYE),
Direct Taxation, Withholding taxes for individuals,
Capital Gains Tax are among the listed taxes.

Others are stamp duties on instruments
executed by individuals, Road tax, Business
Premises Registration, Development levy for
individuals, Right of Occupancy fees on lands
owned by State Government and land use charges
.
He said that the state government was
targeting at least one billion naira from
outstanding taxes for the last two to three years.

“The Oyo State Government through the State
Internal Revenue Service has put all the necessary
machineries in place to ensure the enforcement of
the tax laws.

“We advise all erring taxpayers to comply forthwith
and ensure immediate payment of any outstanding
taxes, fines and levies,’’ he said.

Oloko warned that the full weight of the law would
be brought to bear on taxable persons who failed to
comply.

He said that a data bank on tax defaulters had been
put in place to effectively arrest and prosecute tax
evaders in state.

Oloko said that government would take full
advantage of the provisions of the tax laws to
apprehend and prosecute tax defaulters.

He said the State Attorney-General and
Commissioner for Justice would, through a rapid tax
prosecution Process, begin prosecution of tax
defaulters without further notice
.
The commissioner said a joint enforcement team
had been set up in conjunction with the local
government councils to ensure a concerted
approach to enforcement of tax laws.

Oloko said the state government had adopted
electronic collection of revenues at all revenue
points in the state as means of blocking leakages.

He urged all tax payers to desist from making cash
payments to individuals other than the designated
revenue accounts at any of therevenue collecting
banks.

“Regular payment of taxes and levies will help
government a lot in the provision of social services
such as infrastructure, security, education and
healthcare, etc,” he said.

He said the state revenue service had
embarked on various advocacy and
enlightenment programmes.

Oloko commended the people of the state who have
continually supported the administration of Gov.
Abiola Ajimobi through voluntary and
prompt payment of their taxes.

Crime / FRSC To Begin Use of Speed Limit Detection Device October 1 by ImanuelJannah(m): 11:06pm On Aug 10, 2016
FRSC to Begin Use of Speed Limit
Detection Device October 1

Abuja - The Federal Road Safety Commission
(FRSC) has said that the presidency had approved
Oct. 1 for the commencement of implementation
and enforcement of the Speed Limiting Device.

Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, the Corps Marshall, FRSC,
disclosed this in Abuja while briefing stakeholders
on the new date for the implementation and
enforcement of the device.

Oyeyemi said that the implementation and
enforcement of the device witnessed four
postponements from its initial launching date of
June 1, 2015, before its final approval by the
presidency.

“The final directive from the presidency is clear; the
enforcement date for the implementation of the
speed limiting device is on Oct. 1 and we have had
series of stakeholders meeting.

“The essence of today’s meeting is to finally convey
the directive of the federal government to the
stakeholders that with effect from Oct. 1, the
implementation and enforcement would commence.

“We already have the portal that we will use to
monitor this, we don’t need to pursue any vehicle,
we will just stop you like we verify licence.

“On the tablet we will check whether your vehicle
has been installed with the device, if it has not, we
will impound the vehicle and we make sure that you
do the right thing.

“We are not talking about fines now ,it’s to save
lives so we will impound the vehicle then the owner
of the vehicle will be made to install the device
before the journey continues ,’’ he said.

Oyeyemi said that the corps would do this for the
next three to six months to achieve enforcement
and compliance so as to compel commercial
vehicles to install the device.

He said the FRSC was only concerned about
commercial vehicles installing it for now, adding that
with time the enforcement would extend to private
vehicles so as to cut down crashes on the road.

He said the FRSC was relentless on the
enforcement of the speed limiting device because
speed had been identified as a key risk factor in
road traffic injuries.

Oyeyemi said that an increase in average speed of
1km/h typically results in a 3 per cent higher risk of
a crash involving injury, with a 4 per cent – 5
percent increase resulting in fatalities.

“ For car occupants in a crash with an impact speed
of 80km/h, the likelihood of death is 20 times what
it would have been at an impact speed of 30km/h.

“Speed is the major cause of crashes in Nigeria
with commercial vehicles accounting for 65 per cent
of the crashes,’’ the corps marshal said.

He said speed related road deaths were avoidable if
Nigerians resolved to prevent them, adding that
controlling human habits on speeding had not been
as effective as desired.

Oyeyemi said it was pertinent for the nation to
embrace this speed limiting strategy to curb “this
monster on our roads’’.

He said the speed limiter device was available in
the market and that the FRSC had a list of the
companies trading in the device on its website and
urged vehicle owners to visit the site so as to
purchase genuine ones.

Oyeyemi urged the Standard Organisation of Nigeria
to ensure that importers complied with the standard
for the device.

He also tasked the SON to ensure that only vehicles
with the device were allowed to be imported into the
country.

Speaking at the occasion, the Secretary to the
Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Babachir
Lawal, commended the FRSC for the initiative and
thanked the National Assembly and the President
for endorsing it .

Lawal said the project would help in saving the lives
of Nigerians by cutting down speed which was a
major killer on the nation’s highways.

The stakeholders present at the forum included
representatives from the National Assembly, the
SGF’s office and the Department of State Security
(DSS).

Members of transport associations in Nigeria were
also present and they pledged their support to the
implementation of the device.

Politics / US Provides $37million In Aid To Boko Haram Victims by ImanuelJannah(m): 4:44pm On Aug 10, 2016
ABUJA - The U.S. is providing 37 million dollars additional humanitarian assistance to people affected by the insurgency and severe food insecurity in Nigeria and its neighbours, the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria says.

The mission, according to reports reaching Nigerian Interest Blog, announced the package in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday, saying the assistance would be provided through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

The mission said three senior U.S. officials announced the offer after a trip to Nigeria’s Northeast Zone where the humanitarian needs were most acute.

It said the U.S. officials were Nigeria Mission Director Michael Harvey, U.S. Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance Director Jeremy Konyndyk and Office of Food for Peace Deputy Director Matt Nims.

“With this announcement, the U.S. is providing more than 318 million dollars (about 95 billion naira) in humanitarian assistance since fiscal year 2015 to the Lake Chad Basin region.

“Also, the U.S. continues to be the single largest humanitarian donor to the region,” the mission said.
It said the savagery of Boko Haram had triggered a humanitarian crisis in Nigeria and surrounding countries especially in the Lake Chad Basin region.

“Families have been driven from their homes, millions are left without enough to eat, and human rights abuses are widespread. Despite gradually improving security conditions, the humanitarian situation remains dire.”

“Throughout the region, approximately five million people need emergency food assistance and 2.5 million people are displaced,” it said.

The mission said new funding to UN and non-governmental organisation partners would help tens of thousands of people to receive critically needed humanitarian assistance.

It listed the humanitarian assistance to include food, water, shelter, and services to address acute hygiene, protection and nutritional needs.

“The food assistance will be delivered to conflict-affected communities in the Diffa Region of Niger, including populations who fled their homes following the recent attacks in Bosso.

“This new food assistance will be coordinated with the humanitarian community in Nigeria to scale up the overall regional food response,” the mission said.

Business / What Does It Mean To Be Rich? by ImanuelJannah(m): 4:18pm On Aug 10, 2016
PS: Share Your Thoughts On What Being Rich Means To You After Reading....

If I asked you what it means to be Rich, I'd imagine many of you would give different answers.

When I talk about being rich or obtaining wealth, I'm not talking necessarily about the money and
possessions you obtain. I'm talking about having a rich mindset and having control over your financial future, and hopefully being able to spend your time and your life pursuing the things that truly matter to you.

It's the same with being poor. It's far more than a financial issue. A person with a poor mindset will likely end up poor, even if you gave them a great deal of money.

On the other hand, once you get a rich mindset – you can make money in many ways and start to see opportunity in the world instead of relying on others and outdated financial advice.

I believe we were born to be rich. The world has taught us poor financial habits.

Instead of following advice that doesn't work and then blaming others, I urge you to learn to think for yourself.

I believe you have a wealthy mind waiting to be discovered. But you can't be lazy. You need to keep learning and keep improving your financial
education.

I'm no different than you. I was taught the wrong advice by my poor dad. I'm also lazy. But I've been very fortunate to learn another way of thinking frommy rich dad. And, even today – when I get lazy, I've got some great people around me who challenge
me and motivate me to keep a rich mindset.

I want the same opportunity and mindset for you. I want you to start questioning the things you've been
taught and start taking control of your financial future. I'm passionate about empowering people to do this

Even if now is not your time to take action, I hope you continue to improve your education and start thinking of yourself as a Rich person who has been taught poor things – and you can do something about it.

Why I Dropped Out of School - Bill Gates

Abuja - In an effort to change the perception of youths who think
education is not important for a successful life, the world's richest
man, Bill Gates has explained why he dropped out of Harvard university
at age 19.

Gates revealed that his desire to be the pioneer in the business of
microcomputer software was the reason he suspended his university
education in 1975.

He disclosed this during an interview session with a cross section of
African youths on MTV Base and monitored by Nigerian Interest Blog.

The 60 years old billionaire who described himself as a strange kind
of drop-out said: "I went to Harvard university for several years. I
only dropped out because, if I didn't get going with my idea, someone
might beat me to the market with the idea of microcomputer software."

While reminiscing the days he spent in pursuit of higher education,
Gates said he loved Harvard university, and that his time there were some of his best days in life.

He said he left Harvard university with the consent of his parents who
were already business savvy, had seen the potentials of his
microcomputer software idea, and could share his enthusiasm for the
software. However, he further said he promised his parents he would
return to Harvard to complete his education and obtain his degree.

In keeping to that promise, in 2007 exactly 32 years after he dropped
out of school, Gates obtained a degree in computer science from
Harvard university.

He advised African youths to embrace education and entrepreneurship, if they desire to be billionaires like himself.

"Take your education seriously, think about whether you want to work
for a big company to get some experience before you start your own
business or you just want to delve straight into entrepreneurship.
Either way makes a whole lot of sense. Africa needs millions of
billionaires to get to where it deserves." He said

It's funny when we take a look at the way men wore trousers in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, then predict how they'd be wearing that fashion item by the year 2030. You can't help it but burst into laughter!!!.

The ingenuity of the producers of the video is amazing. Just watch the video first then come back and leave a comment.

Enjoy!!!
