VICE PRESIDENT YEMI OSIBANJO COMMISSIONS ROADS IN IMO STATE


Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo has commissioned the Dick Tiger road and Dick Tiger street located along uratta mcc axis today in Owerri the imo state capital as part of his working visit to the state.

The Vice President while commissioning the road described Gov. Hope Uzodimma as a pragmatic leader whose actions shows that he has come to work for his people and appreciated him for engaging in people oriented projects that are both of socio-economic importance to imolites.

Osibanjo said “Gov. Uzodimma has continued to prove and make true of his shared prosperity mantra as he has continued to defile both economic and seasonal odds to ensure he gives the best to Imolites and this he has done through his determination in changing the cause of this road from what it used to be and what it is looking like today.”

Vice President Osibanjo used the opportunity to eulogize the Governor and his achievements so far in office and described it as uncommon while calling on all well meaning Imolites to support and join hands with Gov. Hope Uzodimma in his bid to reposition the state for the best and pledge the continuous support of the federal government to the state.

Gov. Hope Uzodimma while addressing the mammoth crowd on ground appreciated the Vice President for making out time to visit the state again in such a short notice and declared that Prof. Osibanjo is always attracted to good governance and Imo State happens to be the reference point for good governance and people oriented leadership.

Gov. Uzodimma maintained his strong resolve of ensuring that the dividends of democracy and the shared prosperity is seen and felt in all the nooks and crannies of the state while pledging that his administration will not renege on the 3R mantra initiative of his government.

The Imo state Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma during the Easter celebration Sunday service at his Home Church, Omuma, called on all workers and the entire Imo citizens for true service to God and humanity and repentance in ways of corruption and de-service God, Imo State Government and Imo citizens.

Governor Uzodimma in his statement on the Easter Sunday, called on all Imo workers and Imo citizens to recommit themselves and their Christian faith in true service to God, to their neighbors, and at their working places by re-examining their activities and conscience.

Governor Uzodimma stated “Have we treated our conscience well, how have I managed my position as a government worker, am I among those cheating government, am I among those earning double salary and making noise that I have not been paid, am I among those frustrating every effort of government, if the answer is yes, then today is the day for you to repent.”

He further enjoined Imo citizens that perseverance, tolerance, good faith are ways to guide our conscience and the driving criteria for guaranteed salvation from the Lord.

SENATOR ARARUME ON A MERRY GO ROUND IN COURT TO DEPRIVE IMO NORTH FROM BEEN REPRESENTED

The case between Chukwuma Francis Ibezim v. INEC for Interlocutory Injunction to restrain INEC from issuing a certificate of return to Senator Ifeanyi Ararume in connection with the bye-election held on 5th December, 2020 for Imo North Senatorial District, with SUIT NO. HOW/309/2021, was heard today before Justice CHUKWUEMEKA-CHIKEKA of the High Court of Imo State.

When the case was called up, K.C. Nwufo, SAN informed the court that Senator Ifeanyi Ararume had filed a motion seeking to be joined as a Defendant in the suit. He also applied to the court to move the motion.

Learned Counsel for the Plaintiff, M. A. Aguda and Idris Yakubu, opposed the application on the grounds of the need for time to respond to the application for joinder, which was served on them in open this morning.

The application of the learned Seek to discharge the Interim Injunction was also opposed on the ground that, since Senator Ifeanyi Ararume has not been joined as a party to the suit, he cannot make any application to the court.

The case was thereafter adjourned to 3rd of May 2021 for the hearing of the motion for joinder and the Plaintiff's motion for Interlocutory Injunction.

If there is anything the residents of world_Bank and those who ply that road would be happy for , it would be for the reconstruction of the age long dilapidated world_bank road, which over the time was a nightmare to every body who plies that road

World_Bank road was one of the dilapidated road Infrastructures inherited by the shared prosperity Government of Sen Hope Uzodimma, before now, no motorists plies that road without visiting a mechanic workshop .

Within a short time, Gov Hope Uzodimma has effected repairs on that road thereby making it a reality the long sought relief from choking vehicular movement, high cost of transportations and poor Flow of goods and services.

The reconstruction of that road no doubt would boost economic activities in that area and moreso change the tune of utterances of some people who hitherto blackmailed the governor for neglect and none performance.

Without any doubt, the 3R mantra is not just a slogan but a reality in the offing, world_Bank residents and those who do business using that road will now have a great lease of life considering the reconstruction of the road.

APC is now the party to beat in the Southeast as the party has decided that southeast must be reintegrated in the National Polity and that our zone should not be left out.”

This is according to His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma who received the APC Southeast Constitutional review Committee led by professor Tahir Mamman SAN at the party’s secretariat in Owerri, Imo State.

Governor Uzodimma disclosed that the purpose of the visit of the APC caretaker committee is to identify the Grey areas in the party’s constitution and put in place what will make the party stronger and better as it is a welcome idea.

Governor Uzodimma further appreciated and commended the committee as a saving antidote for the party as it was created solve some of the challenges in the party.

The Party in its wisdom formed a working National caretaker committee to cater for all challenges both at the National and local level for better cohesion and unity in the party.

Addressing the party members, Professor Tahir Mamman SAN commended the Governor for been in the frontline of looking after the party APC at both the National and local levels. He commended the leadership of Imo APC, led by Chief Marcon Nlemigbo for their proper organization and hospitality.

He also stated that APC is a people oriented party therefore they are working to fashion the party’s constitution from the needs of the people.

Gov. Hope Uzodimma has flagged off the enrollment of vulnerable persons into the basic healthcare provision fund(BHCPF) scheme earlier today in Owerri, the Imo State Capital.

Speaking at the event, Gov. Hope Uzodimma expressed how highly delighted he is over the innovative health care scheme that is aimed at the vulnerable persons in the state and appreciated the collaboration of the Federal Government and the state in actualizing this milestone.

He said “The BHCPF has heralded a brand new chapter in the history of healthcare in the country, as it offers a refreshing assurance that all our people can have access to quality healthcare delivery irrespective of their status in life. We must applaud the federal and state governments for collaborating to initiate this noble vision”

The Governor made it clear that his administration is well concerned with the vulnerable groups in the society and will stop at nothing to address their concerns. He went ahead to mention that persons qualified for the free treatment under the scheme are;
i. Persons under 5 years of age.
ii. Pregnant Women.
iii. Persons over 65years of age.

The free healthcare package will be accessible through the 305 Primary healthcare centers in all the INEC wards in the state as it will serve as a platform where all vulnerable persons can easily gain access to the free medical treatment.

Gov. Hope Uzodimma therefore warned those whose intentions are to tamper with the funds to think twice as his government will mercilessly deal with them in line with the provisions of law as they’ll be guilty of profiting from money meant for the vulnerable persons in the state while urging those affected to turn out in mass.

The enrollment into the scheme which kickstarted today with Owerri Municipal Council Area is expected to run through the remaining 26 LGAs in the state in the coming days. Enrollment into the scheme is free while treatment is only reserved for the vulnerable persons.

These are signs of a leader who has come to work for his people. This road before now, as can be seen on the attached image, spells a bad image for the Teaching Hospital and of course the state. It has suffered gross negligence which had hitherto led to economic suspension at the institution and created a paralysis on seeking service from institution.

However, His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma prioritized it based on the various policies of his Shared Prosperity administration anchored on the 3R-Mantra. Today, IMSUTH road has been reconstructed and service with dignity restored in full.

GOV. UZODIMMA SPEAKS ON THE IGBO UNITY & INTEGRATION OF IGBOS TO THE GOVERNMENT AT THE CENTER

The Imo State Governor and Host Governor of the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Worldwide Elders Council meeting, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma addressed the issues of Alaigbo Unity and Igbos accepting the hand of friendship offered by the Government at the center.

Governor Hope Uzodimma who spoke at the well attended Social-Cultural meeting held at the New Banquet Hall, Government House, Owerri, Imo State, stated that it is a settled matter that as a people we cannot make any progress without unity.

“For us to be respected by the rest of Nigeria, we must be seen to be speaking with one voice” Uzodimma stated.

He commended the turn out of a Galaxy of Igbo leaders comprising of the intelligentials in business, religion, politics, etc., all gathered under one roof as this shows a strong move to start the unity journey in Alaigbo.

“It gladdens my heart to see this array of who is who in Igboland at this meeting... I congratulate all of us for this show of solidarity” Uzodimma commends.

Governor Uzodimma suggested to the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo elders gathered at the meeting, the consideration that of accepting of the efforts and hand of friendship offered by the Government at the Center and the ruling party, the APC to Igbos as he threw the question open: “ Is this not the right time for us to cement a new friendship with those who have offered us friendship? “

Governor hope Uzodimma has maintain a transparent and accountable stance as far as salaries and wages in Imo state is concerned with the Introduction of the enterprise payroll system. This is mostly seen in the area of payment of workers salaries and pensions and this is more reason why each time complaints of non payment of salaries and pensions emerges, it becomes worrisome as to where the fault is coming from which is not far fetched from corruption in the system built by the enemies of prosperity and development to defraud the Government and good people of Imo state of their commonwealth.

It is on record that during the last Christmas, a complaint form was sent to all Local Governments in the state and was collected by February. It is interesting to note that those with peculiar issues are being sorted out and by next month it will be addressed as those getting double salaries will dealt with accordingly and those with incomplete bio-data will be contacted. This is just one out of the many ways Gov. Hope Uzodimma is addressing civil servants complaints in the state.

It is surprising while Gov. Hope Uzodimma had asked those with issues to visit the appropriate office to address their issues or better still wait for sorting of the already collected Datas, some civil servants and pensioners decided to be a tool used by the opposition to cause unease in the state as witnessed last week through the protest. Thankfully, the Governor in his transparency style collected their details and took it upon himself to ascertain where the problem is coming from and lo! It is what we have envisioned it to be.

The attached photographs are some details of these protesters and after a detailed investigation we found out thus;

i. The Yellow lines across some names indicated that the affected persons have duplicates details thereby earning double salaries or earning salary and pension same time. This group of people will be made to face the law in coming days.

ii. The rest have uncompleted details which they have not gone to verify thereby not getting their salaries.

These no doubt this is a clear confirmation that the shared prosperity government of Gov. Hope Uzodimma will not for any reason withhold the salaries or pensions of Imo workers or pensioners if not for the above issues and this should put to rest the accusations and politically motivated protests aimed at painting the state government in false light.

In few days to come, the Imo State Data management center in collaboration with the office of the Governor New and Electronic Media Center will be launching an interface program to help pensioners and civil servants settle their problems.

Again, it is imperative that Gov. Hope Uzodimma and his government cannot be cowed, guilt tripped or cajoled into doing the biddings of those that has vehemently refused to do the right thing to earn their salaries and pensions instead we warn them to desist from such attempts and use their time and energy to rectify their problems and earn their salaries and pensions like the rest.

Imo people will continue to see and have reasons to trust and believe in the shared prosperity government of Gov. Hope Uzodimma as it will always expose the truth to her people and as well ensure the right things are done always.

The act of naming roads after some individuals or personalities that has distinguished themselves in various acts or fields of endeavors is never a misnomer or a misfit. Oftentimes, this singular honor is usually credited to the dead as a way of immortalizing them but it has become obvious that we do not have to wait for men and women of great accomplishments to die before we celebrate them or immortalize their names or legacies for generations yet unborn and this is what Gov. Hope Uzodimma has demonstrated.

Imo state and Gov. Hope Uzodimma are not the first to have tolled the path of immortalizing great men and women whose contributions are eminent and beneficial to their immediate communities. Previous administrations in the state had at one point or the other renamed institutions, roads and other government owned offices after some of its past leaders and administrators or individuals of great repute just as a way of saying thank you for all they have done. Unfortunately, this honorary gesture has been reduced to a child’s play and its intention ruined for selfish reasons.

President Muhammadu Buhari no doubt has shown much support in imo state in appointments, empowerments, security, federal projects amongst many other things. This is without mentioning his giant strides in the South East Zone especially the 2nd Niger Bridge under construction. In the light of all these, it is only but a mark of appreciation and an act to further strengthen the ties between the state and the federal government and this we are grateful to Gov. It may not just be an alliteration to say the “Relieved Relief Market” this is because anybody who has plied on that road or walks through that road before now is left with one ugly story to tell and this is coupled with the influx of both traders and buyers that are usually dragging to find their feet on that deplorable road.

There is no better time for the ease of doing business and movement of goods,human and vehicles in and around the popular Relief Market if not now that the wind of the shared prosperity government of Gov. Hope Uzodimma has visited the place through the construction and commissioning of the road of the market road, honestly, we can boldly and proudly say the “relieved relief market”.

The Relief Market became popular owing to its complementary and supplementary services to imolites immediately the Eke Ukwu Owerri main market was demolished by the previous administration leaving traders stranded which resulted to most of them returning back to the Relief Market.

This situation worsened the road and each time it receives mere “Patch Patch” work and as a result during the rainy season becomes bad for motorists and pedestrians. It became embarrassing that previous administrations could allow that road linger and have Imolites suffer despite it's huge contribute to the state IGR.

At last the road to this market is now relieved as motorists and pedestrians can now enjoy the dividends of democracy through good road network and thankfully it is the shared prosperity government of Gov. Hope Uzodimma that has made this possible.

It is only appropriate to say congratulations to all the business owners in and around the popular Relief Market as the newly reconstructed road is another sales turnover to them and a very big THANK YOU to Gov. Hope Uzodimma for keeping to his words of reconstructing bad roads in the state which Relief Market road is inclusive.

Again, it is the same assertion but this time coming from another national leader and the Senate President, Sen. Ahmed Lawan, who was in imo state to mark the one year in office of Gov. Hope Uzodimma.

The words of the third citizen of the country has espoused on the reality that imo state under Gov. Hope Uzodimma is being noticed especially his developmental giant strides and that alone means hope for Nigeria.

The Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo had on the same day posited that he sees great hope for Nigeria while the Senator President sees hope of Nigeria and either ways the two personalities have affirmed that in imo state lies the Hope of a better Nigeria and these words were accredited to Gov. Hope Uzodimma.

One thing remarkable about the leadership of Gov. Hope Uzodimma is that he has gone beyond the state to the South East and now making wave at the National level. It is his outstanding performance that endeared the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. Dave Umahi to look the way of APC to compliment the efforts of Gov. Hope Uzodimma and no doubt with his finesse will eventually connect the South East to the National grid of power.

With the way Gov. Hope Uzodimma is working both in the state and in the zone, it has become obvious that the nation is ready to tap into his wealth of knowledge and expertise. No wonder the caliber of personalities that graced his one year in office thanksgiving service ranging from the Presidency represented by the Vice President, The Senate President for the National Assembly and The Chairman Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and other state governors representing the Governors’ Forum.

Now, Imo state has become a beehive of activities as Gov. Hope Uzodimma is always attracting men that matters to the state. Amongst many registrations and revalidation, The Imo State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma witnessed one of the strong members and founding fathers of PDP, Ambassador Greg Mbadiwe join the largest party in Africa, the All Progressive Congress (APC) at his hometown in Arondizogu in Ideato North LGA of Imo State.

In his address, Governor Uzodimma disclosed that Ambassador Greg Mbadiwe can be referred to as a good player in the field of politics as he further expressed joy and commended the Statesman for his decision to serve the state and Nation under the ruling party APC.

The statesman, Ambassador Greg Ozumba Mbadiwe, son of the late Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe (Nigerian nationalist, politician, statesman and First Republic Minister of the FRN) and ex Nigerian Ambassador to Congo expressed joy being a member of the All Progressive Congress in service to the people of Imo State and the Nation at large.

GOV. HOPE UZODIMMA INSPECTS NEKEDE-IHIAGWA ROAD


As work is speedily ongoing at the Nekede-Ihiagwa road, it is a good testament of the Shared Prosperity Government of Governor Hope Uzodimma that no road in Imo State will remain as it was before he assumed office.

The Nekede-Ihiagwa road was one out of many roads that were left on paper by the immediate past administration which degenerated into a death trap and became a cash cow for transporters to extort and make unnecessary gains from commuters due to the nature of that road.

Many knew that it was as a result of maladministration that brought that road to that level but decided to politicize it by blaming the present administration.

Governor Hope Uzodimma as a leader, understands governance as a continuous process, swiftly mandated contractors to go back to the site and today it's an entirely different story.

Unlike his predecessor, there was no form of a media frenzy on flagging-off the Nekede-Ihiagwa road and as it is, Imolites can confidently say that the pace on the road and the quality of materials used cannot be said to be a “Patch-Patch” or “Shine-Shine” construction.

As usual, Governor Hope Uzodimma continues to visit the site on an inspection tour to ascertain the level of work and ensure that the road meets up with the global best standard.

This singular act of the Governor places him above his equals and further celebrates him as not just a working Governor but a Governor who values the life and wellbeing of his people.

Imolites are no longer jittery and uncertain of what this present administration will offer as each day it is becoming clearer that the Shared Prosperity Government of Governor Hope Uzodimma is a pointer of a better Imo for all of us.

ORLU-OWERRI ROAD CONSTRUCTION BY CRANEBURG


The Orlu-Owerri road construction is gradually taking the shape of what a standard road should be with modern day road construction equipments and quality materials used in the work by the renowned road construction giant Craneburg construction company.

Orlu-Owerri road hitherto was was not motorable and further degenerated into a death trap and gave room for unwholesome activities like armed robbery, kidnapping, killings,etc to topple the peace of the people. Business owners each day counts their loses which made some abandon their businesses pending till the time the road is constructed.

Successive administrations did little as “patch patch” work while others felt it was insignificant to their administration. Thankfully, the shared prosperity government of Gov. Hope Uzodimma came on board and has changed the situation of that road.

As at today, drainages are been constructed for the road from Banana junction as another way to forestall flooding during the rainy season and keep the road in good shape in line with global standards. This approach has dwarfed the intentions of all those that had earlier questioned the competency and technical know-how of the construction company over there ability to do a good work on the Orlu-Owerri road.

For Gov. Hope Uzodimma, he is poised towards constructing not just drainages but quality ones that can allow the free flow of water. This is why the state government attaches so much concern to the drainages and ensures that all roads constructed by this administration must have a good drainage system.

When this road will be fully constructed and commissioned, it will bring a facelift to the neighboring villages, become motorable for both motorists and commuters and encourage more businesses around its environ to flourish. Most importantly, lives will be saved as it will put an end to the unceremonious activities on that road.

In no distant time, the road will be ready for use and Imolites will again appreciate the desire of Gov. Hope Uzodimma to make sure that both the urban and rural roads wears a new look and at the end, ndi imo will partake in the shared prosperity government.

Justice Slyvanus Adiewere Nsofor has been laid to rest at his home town, Umudei Village in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria.

He has been described by both President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State as outstanding.

Addressing the congregation at the end of the funeral Mass in his honour President Buhari in his condolence message read by the Governor Uzodimma, described late Justice Nsofor as "an outstanding Judge of a rare breed who was well known for his courage, dedication, transparent, honesty, trustworthy and sense of justice and fairness."

Buhari said the late Nigerian Ambassador to the United States

"served the country diligently and positively, projected the image of the country."

The President consoled, behalf of his family and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the immediate and the entire Nsofor family even as he said Nugeria has lost a Nationalist.

He urged them to take solace in the knowledge that late Ambassador "Nsofor lived a fulfilled life, reached the rightful age and left behind worthy legacies of selflessness and integrity in Public Service."

In his address at the valedictory court session held at Court of Appeal Owerri Division earlier in the day, Governor of Uzodimma described late Justice Nsofor as an "outstanding judge of exemplary courage who stood firmly for the truth like the Rock of Gibraltar, always ready to dispense justice no matter whose ox is gored."

He said he was a shining light in the Judiciary whose judgments at the Court of Appeal "clearly demonstrated that Justice Nsofor was not afraid to voice out his conviction based on point of law hence his consistency as a judge for 28 years endeared him to many Nigerians and the world in general."

To the family, the Governor urged them to take solace in the sustainable legacies their patriarch achieved while on planet earth and what he stood for which will always help to mitigate the loss of such a great father.

In his sermon at the funeral mass held at Sacred Heart Parish Oguta, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Michael Chinagorom who drew his references from the book of Eccl. Chapter 3 verse 1-8,11 enjoined the living to "see the life on earth as transient and that the best of life is to use it to help the less privilege, make those in difficulty feel relieved, put smiles on the faces of those groaning and endeavour to make heaven at last."

"These, " according to him, "are what the late Justice epitomized while alive."

In their funeral oration, the son of late Justice Nsofor, Mr. Cross Nsofor said that their father prepared their mind before his death not to “expect so that they will not be disappointed or ask so that they will not be denied”.

He informed that the late Jurist was self contented with what he has, was never moved by worldly things nor primitive acquisition of wealth and properties, hence as a Judge spoke and defended the truth.

All that spoke at the valedictory court session described late Justice Nsofor as an incorruptible Judge who left legacies of emulation in the sands of time for both present and in- coming Judges in Nigeria.

IMO EXCO DECIDES: NEKEDE/ IHIAGWA ROAD TO BE RE-AWARDED TO A COMPETENT FIRM

THE CURRENT CONTRACTOR TO REFUND N1.4 BILLION MOBILIZATION MONEY BY PAST ADMINISTRATION.

The Imo State Government has decided to re-award the Nekede/ihiagwa road to more competent contractors.

This according to the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Declan Emelumba this formed part of the decisions taken at today's exco meeting.

He further told journalists that the EXCO also directed the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to ensure thAt the bank that guaranteed the mobilization fee to the Contractor handling the Nekede/Ihiagwa refund the mobilization fee without further delay.

Lending his voice, the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Chuck Chuckemeka said that the contract for the Nekede/Ihiagwa road was not an initiative of the current Government, but that of the previous Government.

He said now that the Contractor has failed the people after collecting a mobilization fee of N1.4billion, the government has directed that the mobilization fee be refunded to enable her re-award the contract to a more competent and responsible contractor.

He equally said that the State Government is working hard to realize the passage of the 2021 Annual Budget before the end of the year so as to benefit from the gains that can accrue to states that meet the deadline for timely passage of budget from the Federal government or International Donors.

UZODIMMA IS A FORCE TO RECKON WITH - CHIEF IWUANYANWU

At the second Stakeholders meeting at the Expanded Exco Chambers, Chief Engr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, one of the Stakeholders and statesman present, commended the Governor for showing true leadership by stating to them the status of the State, achievements of the Government, plans of the Government and his proactive move to maintain peace in Imo State.

"that you called your people today to tell them what you have done, and what you plan to do shows you are a good leader and I am proud of you". Iwuanyanwu said.

Chief Iwuanyanwu revealed the part Gov. Uzodimma played to secure the lives and properties of Igbos in the north as Igbos were been threatened and framed for the ENDSARS protests in the north and Lagos.

"If you knew the dangers Igbos faced, you will commend your Governor. My friends in the north told me you have made contacts, trying to save the lives of Igbos in the North ". Iwuanyanwu stated.

The statesman also commended the Imo State Governor as Imo State had the least number of destructions and casualties during the protests due to his rapid and proactive response.

He further spoke on the destructions and mayhem in the state, added that the perpetrators are not Imo citizens, that they are hired hoodlums by politicians to cause confusion in the state. He cited an instance of the police station burnt in Orji, and by his investigation, no one from Orji was involved. He added that it is not in the nature of Igbos to loot or steal, "O wu ihe are n'ala igbo" Iwuanyanwu lamented.

He however stated that what is happening today started more than 20yrs ago when the system of Government failed the people.

He pointed out the level of corruption in the country, the level of unemployment and hardship in the nation, enjoined Governor Uzodimma to speak with men in higher authorities to address the issues.

Chief Iwuanyanwu commended the Governor for the part he is playing to reduce unemployment in the state, giving hope to the youths through skill acquisition programs and start up capital and kits for them; added that the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences is a huge step in the right direction for Imo people by the Governor as he also advised him to build more Industries in the State.

GOV. UZODIMMA INTIMATES IMO LEADERS ON GOVERNANCE IN IMO STATE.

In his quest to run a transparent and people oriented Government, Governor Hope Uzodimma has held a second stakeholders meeting to intimate the Imo Stakeholders on the Governance of the state.

The Governor careful stated that the destructions and mayhem in the state are not from Imo youths but paid mercenaries from outside Imo state by Some Imo political elites who want to take undue advantage of the ENDSARS peaceful protest to make the state ungovernable.

He warns Imo youths to be cautions and remain peaceful, added that anyone caught with a dangerous weapon will be treated as an enemy of the state.

Addressing the leaders, the Imo State Governor stated that inspite of the orchestrated protests and COVID-19 pandemic, the Shared Prosperity Administration remained undaunted and focused on the goals to bequeath NDI-IMO a state everyone will be proud of.

The Governor also used the opportunity to speak on some of the achievements of his Administration.

He first stated that for the first time in the history of Imo State, 7 roads have been completed and Commissioned in 7 months with 10 more road projects currently undergoing construction.

On the area of Agriculture/ business development sector, the Imo State Governor announced that the long abandoned ADAPALM have been resuscitated as a state owned company.

He also added that the Otamiri water scheme has started pumping and supplying water after so many years of neglect.

The Governor did not fail to announce the current achievements in the Civil service which in his statement has been revived with free bus services for civil servants, new cars for permanent secretaries and judges in the state and the renovation of the civil service complex.
He however reassured that the few outstanding unpaid workers will certainly be paid as the delay of their payment is due to the discrepancies of migrating from analogue to digital system of payment.

Another milestone achievement made known to Imo leaders from all groups and areas in the state was the massive development of the healthcare in Imo State. Governor Uzodimma pointed out the 10 well equipped mobile clinics making round the rural areas to ensure efficient primary healthcare delivery to the poor and vulnerable; and the proactive response method against COVID-19 pandemic in the state that made Imo the least in active cases and deaths in the country. He further promised functional healthcare centers in all 27 Local Governments in the state by next year.

Still under the achievements of the Government in the health care sector, the state Governor expressed joy as he informed Imo Stakeholders that the National midwifery council of Nigeria has restored the accreditation of the 4 nursing and midwifery schools in the state.
"The 4 nursing and midwifery schools in Imo State are back and will soon commence training and deployment of qualified nurses and midwives to the rural areas of the state.

Imo youths were not left out in the proactive Government of Senator Hope Uzodimma as he announced that 5000 youths have been trained in different skills acquisition programs with N2billion approved for the accelerated youth empowerment programme which plans to train 500,000 youths in 2 years with start up capital and kits for every set ready for the labour market.

Governor Uzodimma also stated to the leaders on his plans to commence modern primary schools in every ward in Imo State. This, he stated will commence by December this year and concluded within 6 months. He further explained that the modern primary schools will have modern libraries, laboratories and a state of the art ICT center in the schools.

In the fulfillment of the determination of the Shared Prosperity Government to connect all State financial data transactions, the Imo State Government has established a world class digital center where all financial transactions in and out of the state are automated which also curbes financial frauds.

The State Governor also stated the creative new beginning in the tertiary institutions of the state, as IMSU undergoes reforms and the new University of Agriculture and environmental Sciences approved and set to hit the ground running as one of the best universities in the country.

"My beloved Imo leaders, I stacked my life and resources to liberate our State from dynasty seekers and estate grabbers. I believe that Government is about efficient and objective service delivery, that is why I have come to do just that in Imo State. I am not greedy for estates nor am I seeking for dynasty. Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, on Monday inaugurated the proposed multi million Eke-Ukwu Market, in the State Capital, Owerri.

He called for the continued support of his administration by the people of Owerri and NDI-IMO in general, noting that the dream of a greater Imo is gradually becoming a reality.

The Eke-Ukwu market which is expected to be completed in Eighteen months will house about 1,850 buildings which includes a multi level car park, police post and fire service station, health care center, mini-mart, retail stores, Showrooms, Open stalls, Incinerator, power points, toilets and other top notch modern facilities.

GOV. UZODIMMA KICKS OFF SUPPORT FOR POLICE REFORMS, INSPECTS STATE POLICE FACILITIES

In keeping to the tenants of democracy and harkening to the cries of NDI-IMO, the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has visited the State police facilities and raised a Committee of Inquiry to look into the complaints and grievances of the people against against SARS and the alleged police Brutality while he kicks off support for police reforms.

The state Governor stated that it is necessary to give the Nigerian Police the proposed training and make sure the welfare package available to the force is also reasonable.

His Excellency, in his tour, visited some of the police Baraks and other facilities of the Nigerian Police force to ascertain where to upgrade.

He further promised to support the Nigerian police training programs and help correct the alleged wrong attitude of the force.

"The youths are the future leaders of our country, they have made complaints and it is our responsibility as leaders to look into those complaints" Uzodimma stated.

IMO STATE GOVERNMENT SETS UP PANEL OF INQUIRY ON ALLEGED POLICE BRUTALITY AND POLICE REFORM

Imo State government has set up a panel of inquiry to investigate alleged police brutality in the country, as it affects the state. The panel is to identify all those who have made claims of police brutality, investigate them and make appropriate recommendations, including possible compensations and sanctions

The panel is also to examine existing police structures in the country, including the renumeration regime and make recommendations for comprehensive reforms in the police to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.

Gov. Uzodimma has commended Imo Youths on their courage to embark on a peaceful protest against police brutality.

The Imo State Governor, Uzodimma who was speaking to the protesters in front of the Government House, agrees with the genuineness of their complaints and grievances, and promised that they will be addressed.

"There is no nation with its sense that will ignore the grievances of the youths, because if you ignore the youths of any Nation, you have squandered the destiny of that Nation." Uzodimma stated.

"We have decided to back you up, it is not only disbanding SARS that is the solution, this your protest has provided an opportunity for Government to look inwards and look at the activities of the Nigerian police, vis a vis their welfare..." Uzodimma stated.

10 FACTS TO NOTE ABOUT THE JUDICIAL PANEL OF INQUIRY THAT INDICTED THE FORMER GOVERNOR OKOROCHA

In view of the grandstanding coming from Okorocha and his social media Rats instead of apologizing to Imo state, it is very important to note the following.
1. The Ben Iheaka's Judicial Panel was not constituetd by Governor Uzodimma. It was done by Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha.

2. The Panel is made up of highly reputable personalities and their actions, inactions and report were devoid of political colouring.

3. The Panel extended invitations to Governor Okorocha for more than 5 times in the spirit of fair hearing but the former Governor refused to attend. He rather ran to Court to stop the panel which did not materialise.

4. The panel did a thorough and commendable job and their report have been described as among the best and well investigated report in Nigeria.

5. Governor Uzodinma did not have any hand nor did he influence the outcome of the report of the panel , at least everybody knows the strong characters or personality in the Committee. We know that Justice Iheaka, Comfort Obi etc are not people one can bribe or influence.

6. The Panel relied heavily on facts not fictions in reaching their conclusion. So many people including Civil Servants, Contractors and Stakeholders approached the panel with evidence concerning contract awarded. Journalist who covered the proceeding were marvelled at the startling revelations at the panel proceedings.

7. Even some of Okorocha's former Appointees also indicted the former Governor during their cross examination

8. The panel also submitted their evidence and documented facts along side the report for better understanding of how they reached their conclusion.

9. The White Paper of the report is yet to come out.

10. Imo people are happy over the report and they know that the report is factual.
