In 2012, pop sensation, Davido, hit the limelight with his hit song, ‘Dami Duro.’ With this song, he wormed his way into the hearts of the Nigerian music lovers. However, in the chorus of the song, he made a statement referring to the dance step of a certain ‘Baba Shina Rambo’ but not many people got the hint till Senator Ademola Adeleke won the bye-election to become the representative of the Osun-West senatorial district recently. The senator, who is Davido’s uncle, is the father of Nigerian singer, Sina Rambo. Shortly after his victory, the Nigerian internet space produced video footage of the senator giving some hot dance steps during his campaign and a ‘victory dance’ when he won the election. Yours truly, Saturday Beats, reached out to his son, Sina Rambo, who is currently in the United States about his father’s dancing steps and he said his father has been dancing since the 80s. He said, “When the spirit of the Lord comes upon my heart, I will dance like David danced. Ashamed? I cannot be embarrassed with the way my father danced. Look, my father will not change for anything! He’s been dancing since the 80s or why do you think they call him Jackson?” click here to continue reading- http://www.indomitablesq.com/2017/07/why-do-you-think-they-call-him-jackson.html

The Nigerian police said on Thursday that they would not allow an anti-government protest planned in Lagos by music star 2Baba. The popular artist, whose real name is Innocent Idibia, called on Nigerians earlier this week to march on February 6 in protest of the government’s handling of the country’s economic crisis. “Information reaching us revealed that some hoodlums are planning to hijack the peaceful protest. As such, we won’t allow it to hold in Lagos,” Lagos police commissioner Fatai Owoseni told AFP. “We know that 2Face does not have the capacity to contain such a crowd and we will not fold our hands and watch while things go out of hand,” Owoseni said. In a video posted on his Facebook account Tuesday, 2Face urged Nigerians to come out in a “peaceful and articulate manner” for the march. “The need for urgent solutions to the challenges facing Nigerians has become very clear,” he said in the video. “Things are not getting better for the majority, we are still where we are, poor and desperate. I will no longer be quiet.”To complete story,click- http://indomitablesq..com.ng/2017/02/police-promised-not-to-allow-2face-to.html

America will soon have a Kremlin or KGB agent installed in the White House. And he is none other than Donald Trump. He will hero-worship President Vladimir Putin, judging by all the nice things that he has said about Russia and its leader. Though United States intelligence officials are convinced that Russia meddled in the presidential race, the finding has not diminished President-elect Donald Trump’s desire for warmer relations with Moscow. Mr. Trump declared in a series of tweets on Saturday that “only stupid people or fools” would come to a different conclusion. “It is a good thing” “Having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing,” he stated from Trump Tower, adding: “We have enough problems without yet another one.” To complete story, click here- http://indomitablesq..com.ng/2017/01/us-president-elect-trump-calls-critics.html

The Frenchman was again on hand off the bench as Arsene Wenger's men snatched a late draw, leveling the game after a Juan Mata opener Olivier Giroud was Arsenal's super-sub, popping up with a last-gasp, and largely undeserved, equaliser to snatch a 1-1 draw from Manchester United. The Gunners turned in a listless performance in this fixture a year ago when expected to win in their attempts to keep pace with Leicester City, Marcus Rashford making a sparkling Premier League debut for a youthful side, and they largely fared little better this time around. Much more established just nine months on, Rashford replaced the suspended Zlatan Ibrahimovic in attack for United - captain Wayne Rooney demoted to the bench in a week that has seen him in the headlines for a drunken night on England duty. David de Gea did not have a single save to make before Juan Mata steered the excellent Ander Herrera's cutback home with 20 minutes to play. Looking to strike first among this weekend's early title protagonists, Arsene Wenger racked up a 12th Premier League game without victory against Jose Mourinho. Wenger's decision to start a clearly half-fit Alexis Sanchez could also be called into question, given the Frenchman's fears over a "suicidal" decision for him to play for Chile, but his decision to introduce Giroud when chasing the game proved to be inspirational. Though a point will keep Arsenal behind Liverpool and Chelsea, the fight shown here - in stark contrast to last season's corresponding fixture - suggests a sea change in the Gunners. After Sanchez headed a gilt-edged early opportunity wide, United had by far the better chances in the first half, with Arsenal playing in a much more reserved manner than usual, clogging up midfield and forcing the hosts wide.Herrera operated in front of Paul Pogba and Michael Carrick, harrying Mohamed Elneny and Francis Coquelin into mistakes, and United made good ground down Arsenal's left. From one such raid down the right, Antonio Valencia burst past Nacho Monreal, who could only fell the Ecuadorian with a desperate lunging block, but Andre Marriner waved away appeals, moving Mourinho to a state of convulsing grief on the touchline. The act stirred a brief surge in United's play and Mata made Petr Cech tip his effort wide before Anthony Martial brought the visiting goalkeeper into two fairly comfortable stops in the space of a minute. De Gea had gone completely untested in the first half and Arsenal's inability to puncture United's backline continued into the second as quality from either side was at a high premium. Rooney replaced Martial just after the hour, with Rashford shifting to the left, but their right wing was once again the source of success as they took the lead. Pogba and Herrera drifted to that side of the pitch, with Aaron Ramsey failing to track back, and the Spaniard burst past Monreal before his cutback allowed Mata to run on to the ball and guide it neatly beyond the helpless Cech. Two of Wenger's substitutes combined to snatch a point, though, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain surging past a tiring Rashford before standing up a cross for Giroud to power home and leave United without a win in three home games on the spin in the league. click here for for sport gist- http://indomitablesq..com.ng/2016/11/man-utd-1-1-arsenalsuper-sub-giroud.html

Governor of Nigeria’s Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele, has pointed out two policies he has implemented, that have saved the country’s economy from total collapse. Emefiele claims that if not for his intervention with those policies, the current recession would have been more critical. He said this while speaking at the All Civil Society National Economic Summit in Abuja, in a message conveyed by his aide, Emmanuel Ukeje.According to him, the first way he achieved that, was to ensure bank recapitalization. “For instance, prior to recapaitalition, the total number of commercial banks could not match asset base of a single South African bank. But this is not the case anymore as our banks are now robust.” he said. Secondly, the adoption of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) was targeted at blocking loopholes in the banking sector.click here for more- http://indomitablesq..com.ng/2016/11/two-of-my-policies-saved-nigerias.html

The Gambia’s controversial leader Yahya Jammeh on Thursday submitted his candidacy to seek a fifth term in December’s presidential election, saying he would listen only to God for guidance in governing. Jammeh, 51, took power in a bloodless coup in 1994 and has run the country with an iron fist ever since, surviving successive coup attempts by consolidating his power at every level of society. After submitting the required documentation to the electoral commission, Jammeh told its chairman: “No matter what people say about me, I am not moved… I don’t listen to anybody because I know what is important. “It is between me and God Almighty.” He had harsh words for his critics, or even putative advisors, adding: “You want to listen to everybody and satisfy everybody, you will end up satisfying the evil people. “Do what is right. Make sure you satisfy the Almighty Allah.” Intimidation The president went on to present a policy platform of free education and healthcare for all, adding that his government believed especially in empowering women. The Gambia has made great progress in the last 20 years in improving literacy and child mortality rates, and the president has in the last year banned child marriage and female genital mutilation. But his record on civil liberties is less impressive: he has promised to bury critics “nine feet deep” and told the UN Secretary-General to “go to hell” after Ban Ki-moon called for an investigation into an activist’s death in custody.click here for more- http://indomitablesq..com.ng/2016/11/gambian-president-submits-candidacy-for.html

Nobel Prize winner, Professor Wole Soyinka has said that the victory of Donald Trump in the United State’s November 8 presidential election could lead to the withdrawal of support in Nigeria’s fight against the Boko Haram insurgents. Soyinka told Newsweek that Trump’s “bunker mentality” could see the American government take back their help for counter-terrorism operations in West Africa. The Nigerian author and playwright had declared he will destroy his green card and return to Nigeria if the Republican candidate emerges as president elect of the US and later confirmed that he will keep his word and tear his green card, on the day Trump is sworn in as the 45th president of the country. Trump surprised the world when he defeated Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton in Tuesday’s vote. Boko Haram, a militant group, which commenced immense operation against the Nigerian government in 2009, have killed thousands and displaced more than 2 million in the northeast. The administration of Barack Obama, has provided financial support and military training to West African countries fighting the insurgents.click here for more- http://indomitablesq..com.ng/2016/11/trump-will-withdraw-support-in-fighting.html

The House of Representatives has denied the passage of the Sharia bill into law. Reps spokesman, Abdulrazak Namdas, stated this while reacting to media reports that the House had passed the bill despite several debates against it. Namdas noted that the House only has a bill that seeks to amend the criminal aspect of the Sharia Law by first amending the constitution, which was referred to the Constitution Amendment Committee. His words: “I want to make a clarification on Shariah law. We don’t have any bill in the House called Shariah Law bill. What we have is that somebody made a proposal to amend the constitution to further allow an amendment of the criminal aspect of the Shariah Law, which was referred to the special ad-hoc committee to amend the constitution. “The bill seeks to amend certain parts of the Shariah legal system. But if the committee decides that the bill isn’t worth it, it ends there. But even if it gets back to the floor of the House, we’ll have to discuss it. “So, no such bill was passed by the House. We should be guided please. It’s wrong to say we have done something that we haven’t done.” Meanwhile, the House of Reps has directed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to go after the brains behind the Ponzi scheme, MMM Nigeria.click here for more gist- http://indomitablesq..com.ng/2016/11/reps-deny-passage-of-sharia-bill-into.html

The US President-elect, Donald Trump’s economic ideas will affect Nigerian professionals positively, Ibrahim Garba, a Security consultant, said on Wednesday. Garba spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in a telephone interview from Abidjan. He decried the attitude of Nigerians projecting the image of the country in a bad light. According to him, Nigerians need to change their business orientation to reflect positive ideas in the new era. The security expert said Trump, as a business mogul, would certainly jump at good business relationship with Nigeria in the interest of both countries. “This would affect Nigeria because things would be more competitive; Trump is a man who knows about your money; he does not throw money around. “For you to do any business in America you have to be serious. From a business perspective, if Nigerians know what they are bringing to the table and it’s of value, Donald Trump will approve it.” He added that Trump won the election because he was a successful businessman and a politician. “Every country needs a strong economy; Trump has records of growth with his years of experience in business and that can be applied to the nation’s economy. “With this development I hope he has more to offer than we expect from him and also an opportunity for the Americans to see a different side.” The newly-elected president has pledged to be president for all Americans and to build the country’s economy while relating with nations that support his ideas. European Central Bank, ECB, governing council member, Ewald Nowotny, has lamented Donald Trump’s shock election win in the United States, saying, “it is not a good day for the world economy.” He told newsmen in Vienna, Italy that the ECB was “prepared to intervene,” warning of “massive insecurities” following the vote outcome that sent shockwaves through global markets. Nowotny, who is on the ECB’s governing council that decides monetary policy, added, “Close observation is certainly necessary right now.” He noted that Europe’s recovery could also be affected if Trump’s regime took a “menacing turn.” He said that he expected “a period of uncertainty in the medium term”, as had happened after Britain’s decision to leave the EU in June. The victory of the Republican candidate over his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton sent stocks tumbling in the Asian market, although markets pared losses in European trading and London’s FTSE 100 index briefly bouncing into positive territory. Nowotny, however, said it was too early to say if the US Federal Reserve was still likely to raise interest rates in next month. He said, “That will depend on how the American economy reacts in general.” Meanwhile, the ECB’s chief economist Peter Praet has called for calm following the development. Praet said in a banking conference in Brussels, “I think we have to be calm- calmer than the markets certainly. “It’s too early to react to such events and we are closely monitoring the situation. “I think all communication on monetary policy has not changed and will not change as a result.” for more gist, click here- http://indomitablesq..com.ng/2016/11/trump-today-is-not-good-day-for-world.html

Abdulmumin Jibrin, has said he did not flee from Nigeria for fear of arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). In a statement issued yesterday, Jibrin said the travelled to London to receive an anti-corruption award. Jibrin, following his removal as Chairman of Appropriation Committee, had accused the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara and some principal officers of corruption, fraud and abuse of the 2016 budgetary process. The lawmaker who was suspended by his colleagues for 180 legislative sitting days for misconduct and abuse of privileges, said the reports that he fled Nigeria were orchestrated by corrupt House members who are aggrieved by his allegations against them. “The fact of the matter is that I travelled out of the country freely like every responsible citizen and through the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja on November 4, 2016,” he said in the statement. He added that his trip is also related to series of lectures where he would deliver papers on corruption in the Nigerian legislature and the reforms that must be implemented in the House of Representatives. “I have stated repeatedly that I have engaged the security and anti-corruption agencies severally over the petitions I submitted and provided them with evidential documents and vital clues and we have constantly kept in tough. I have also pledged to stand as witness against the Speaker and others. I have nothing to fear. If for any reason my attention is needed, I will make myself available,” he added. Dr David Oyedepo, the Bishop of the Living Faith Church worldwide, has appealed to those criticising the school fees charged by Covenant University to desist to avoid incurring the wrath of God. Oyedepo, in a telecast to a pre-Shiloh 2016 Convention gathering of the church monitored via satellite in Jos on Saturday, said the critics were acting in ignorance and risked incurring the wrath of God. He said one of such critic smitten with a strange plague of chronic mouth odour over the act only received spiritual pardon following his confession and “my intervention before he was restored to dignity”. Oyedepo said the issue of school fees paid by students of the university was a godly agenda to meet the demands of raising godly children in an environment conducive for learning. He said such criticisms were products of ignorance as what students pay could not be compared with what obtained elsewhere that lacked facilities. “The school fees has Gods approval and is in accordance with the quality of facilities provided by the university in meeting the educational needs of the nation,” he said. He said the church in its pioneering role in pushing the frontiers of education with excellence had concluded plans to establish offshore universities. The cleric said a fully automated Bible press by the church had been completed and would be launched soon. Oyedepo, however, quoting from some verses of the Bible, which include Matthew 24:6-8, 1Peter 2:9, Joel 2:2 and Mal. 4:1, said the current economic meltdown was predicted but that committed Christians would be exempted. He prayed for resources for parents to always meet the demands of the time and declared the theme of this year’s Shiloh holding between Dec. 6 and Dec. 10 as “My Case is Different”. The bishop said this year’s annual event of Shiloh would not be advertised as past events as it would be church based. Nigeria is presently in short supply of 600,000 tons of dairy milk and is partnering with major national and international stakeholders in the dairy sector to inject a considerable volume and drastically reduce importation of milk in 2019, the Federal Government has said. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbe, represented by the Director of Animal Production and Husbandry Services, Dr. Egejuru Eze, said this during the just concluded two-day multi-stakeholders roundtable conference in Abuja with the theme: “Milky way to development.” The programme, jointly organised by Arla Foods (producers of Dano milk powder), CARE Denmark, Billital Maroobe, Danish Agriculture and Food Council and the Ministry of Agriculture, was aimed at improving dairy production and marketing and development of new business models that will help create employment and profit for local dairy farmers in West Africa. He said, “Presently, the annual national dairy output and demand are estimated at 700,000 metric tonnes and 1,300 metric tonnes respectively, giving a supply gap of about 600,000 metric tonnes. “We are partnering with major national and international stakeholders in the dairy sector to inject a considerable volume of locally produced raw milk in powdered milk processed in Nigeria to meet the national demand and drastically reduce milk importation by the year 2019. “It is heartwarming to note that there has been increased flow of foreign direct investment into Nigerian livestock industry from different parts of the world, particularly in dairy development.” The Vice Chairman, Arla Foods, Jan Toft Noergaard, said the company was proud to host farmers and other stakeholders in both European and West African dairy sector. “We believe there are more feats to be achieved with an alliance like this. I am sure things will happen faster. This conference is set to discuss and offer solution to challenges facing the dairy sector in West Africa and development of the dairy sector to improve the livelihood of farmers”, he said. for more gist, click here- http://indomitablesq..com.ng/2016/11/fg-to-reduce-importation-of-milk-in.html

The Nephrologist described the case of a young female who developed AKI three days after vaginal insertion of herbal remedy for treatment of secondary infertility, adding that ”she was managed conservatively and recovered full renal function”. According to him, the unusual socio-cultural practice of vaginal herbal therapy leading to AKI is under-reported in Nigeria. He called for surveillance and public awareness of harmful effect of this practice and the use of unstandardised herbal products. The expert pointed out that the reason for the high use of traditional remedies in poor countries included poor access to medical care, poverty, religious beliefs, infertility and body pains among others. Gerard Pique says his decision to retire from the Spanish national team after the next World Cup is final — and admits that he was close to giving up football altogether in 2014. The Barcelona defender announced his retirement earlier this month after Spain’s recent win over Albania, when stories surfaced claiming he’d cut the Spanish colours off the sleeves of his shirt. However, those stories were proven to be misleading, although the damage was done, with Pique confirming that he would hang his boots up from international football after the World Cup in Russia in 2018. “Yes, it is a final decision,” Pique told a news conference ahead of Barca’s Champions League game with Manchester City. “I didn’t want to announce my decision then [after Albania], but I wasn’t too happy with the stories which were later proven to be false, so I felt the need to announce it then. “I’ve read that Twitter, stories in newspapers, Florentino [Perez’s] puppet at OK Diario kicked me out, but this is a decision I took myself, because I think I deserve to leave how and when I want to, when I’m 31 after the World Cup. “If the coach [Julen Lopetegui] continues to call me up, I will have played for Spain for 10 years and I think that’s the best option for me, to take a step to the side and allow future generations to take the space I’ve taken over this time.” Pique was adamant that the decision was not taken with haste and confirmed that as little as two years ago he’d even considered leaving the game completely. The 29-year-old explained that he’d begun to lose his motivation to play football, but talks with several people in the game prompted a U-turn. “After the [2014] World Cup I spoke to people, with [Vicente] del Bosque and other coaches and said I didn’t want to continue, but I was convinced to changed my mind,” he added. “It was a question of motivation — I didn’t have any. Maybe that was because I’d won so much so young. “But with Luis Enrique giving us more, feeling comfortable at Barca, also in the national team, and also publicly saying I want to be best in the world again, I realised I had to be back. “I’ve grown, I feel I’m in the best moment of my career. I feel I can compete in many respects, I’m enjoying my game more than ever and hope to continue at this level.” And having reversed that decision and got his career back on track, Pique is now hoping to extend his time at Barca for a while yet. “I’ve thought about it thoroughly and I will try to extend my time here as much as possible,” he said. “This is the club of my life, the club I love. “Let’s see my condition as I age, my body and head will set the time when I leave. Motivation is also key, getting up and wanting to be better every day.” click here more news- http://indomitablesq..com.ng/2016/10/2018-retirement-no-going-back-pique.html |
Two members of the House of Representatives, who were elected under the platform of PDP, have been sacked by an Abuja Federal High Court on Monday, October 17, 2016. According to a report by Premium Times, the sacked lawmakers, Stella Ngwu and Dennis Agbo, were sacked by the court, presided by Justice Okon Abang, for alleged wrongful emergence as flagbearers of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2015 general elections. The two lawmakers from Enugu State representing Igbo-Etiti and Uzo-Uwani Federal Constituency, and Igbo-Eze North and Udenu Federal Constituency, are also expected to appeal the judgements. The report further revealed that PDP members, Gabriel Okafor and Chijioke Ugwu, had filed two different suits to contest the PDP primaries in December 2014 which had Ngwu and Agbo emerging the party's representatives at the 2015 general elections. Justice Abang upheld the arguments of Okafor and Ugwu and stated that the emergence of Ngwu and Agbo was unlawful, thus, they should vacate their seats. Justice Abang further ordered Ngwu and Agbo to vacate their offices and return to the treasury of the National Assembly all monies they had collected as salaries and allowances since they resumption as federal lawmakers. Both Okafor and Ugwu were also awarded the sum of N100, 000 as cost against the defendants in favour of the plaintiff. The First Lady had been silent since President Buhari replied her BBC interview while he was in Germany Aisha Buhari, wife of the President and First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, won’t be confined to “the Kitchen, the living room or the other room”, whatever her husband, President Muhammadu Buhari, says. You can’t keep a pretty, ambitious woman down, even if you are President of the most populous black nation on earth, it appears. As guest of a Radio show last weekend, host Stanley Azuakola, wondered why no one had heard from Ms. Buhari since her husband told the world media that: "I don't know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen, and my living room and the other room." According to Azuakola, Ms. Buhari’s comments were ample testaments that she was standing by criticisms of the composition of her husband’s cabinet. click here for more- http://indomitablesq..com.ng/2016/10/first-lady-breaks-silence-since.html

Javier Mascherano has signed a new three-year contract with Barcelona, extending his stay until 2019. The terms of the deal were agreed in July but circumstances including changes to the board and international breaks meant the Argentina international’s signature was still pending. However, Mascherano put pen to paper on Monday, watched by Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu, vice president Jordi Mestre and sporting director Robert Fernandez. Mascherano, who joined from Liverpool for €22 million in 2010, has a €100m release clause for the duration of his new deal. Juventus were heavily linked with a move for him in the summer, when he said there was a chance that he could leave the Camp Nou. Barca sporting director Fernandez flew out to the United States during the Copa America Centenario to personally express the club’s desire to keep him. Albert Soler, Barca’s director of professional sports, then confirmed at the end of July that agreement had been reached on improved terms. Mascherano, one of the club’s four captains, has made almost 300 appearances during his six-year spell at Camp Nou and has played in both defence and midfield. click here for more- http://indomitablesq..com.ng/2016/10/javier-mascherano-officially-signs-new.html

Farting is the way the internal organs 'exhale'! Find out reasons why you should always let out a fart whenever it calls. Farting is a sign of a healthy gut and body (as disgusting as it sounds)! It is an important part of the digestive system and a sign that the body is in top shape (it's the reason farting is compulsory after undergoing an operation to make sure all the gut/ organs are back in place).arting is the way the internal organs 'exhale' where otherwise the 'gas' meant to be let out will find its way via somewhere else (the mouth maybe?). Where there's no farting the internal organs will not be in great shape or continue to function as they are supposed to. There are reasons to have a great fart when the pressure to release the gas calls: 1. Reduces Bloating Farting regularly helps get rid of bloating which is usually caused by certain foods (most times rich in carbohydrates and other forms of sugary foods)where otherwise it can result in heartburn, get uncomfortable amongst others. Farting immediately in most cases eliminate bloating simply like releasing a pressure valve. 2. A sign of good health or otherwise Farting can help determine the state of one's health. It is an indication of a healthy gut- where its silent and without a foul smell- or otherwise. For instance if farts get really smelly then there's probably a case of indigestion of a digestive tract infection and in some cases an indication of an underlying health issue like Crohn's disease (people who suffer this pass extremely smelly farts everytime). In some cases, it might just be a pointer to load up more on certain foods as against others. 3. An indicator to improve quality of diet People who don't fart may need to step up nutrients intake. If there's a case where gas isn't released (via farting) then the microbes in the gut may not be getting the needed nutrients (which should be in place for a clean gut) in which case there should be a need to increase intake of carbohydrate. 4. Relieves the body Fart is naturally the system's way of releasing pressure caused by everything that goes into the body after the digestive system is done processing all it needs to function! The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested Senator Musiliu Obanikoro after he honoured the invitation of the anti-graft’s agency. Obanikoro who was a senator during the administration of Goodluck Jonathan was accused of being involved in the infamous arms scam as N4.75bn arms funds was reportedly traced to his account. Obanikoro arrived in Lagos from the United States on Monday, October 17 and went to Abuja some hours later. There was concern that the senator would not report to the EFCC in Abuja but he later did and submitted himself for interrogation. It reports that the EFCC is investigating a firm, belonging to two sons of Obanikoro, Sylvan McNamara for receiving N4.75bn arms funds from the office of the former National Security Adviser between April 4, 2014, and December 15, 2014. Obanikoro had asked all Nigerians to help him beg President Muhammadu Buhari to try to extradite him from the United States and see how terrible the mission would fail. He claimed that the charges against him by the EFCC were false and vowed not to honour the invitation by the anti-graft agency. While his reason for his return is not clear yet, there is speculation that he may reach a plea bargain with the anti-graft agency.
