There is nothing wrong calling that idiot ''a crazy man''. Even the Liberian government cleared him to come Nigeria for a conference when they knew Sawyer was sick of Ebola virus
HealthHow Liberian Govt Cleared Patrick Sawyer To Travel To Nigeria by INFO70(op): 11:02pm On Aug 12, 2014
The Liberian Government was aware that Patrick Sawyer, its citizen who brought the Ebola virus into Nigeria, had possibly contracted the virus from his late sister, yet cleared him to travel to Nigeria for a conference organised by the Economic Community of West African States [ECOWAS], according to a Premium Times report.

Documents obtained by the newspaper showed that Mr. Sawyer’s employers, ArcelorMittal, an iron mining company, suspended him from work and isolated him after it became aware that he had contact with his sister who died of the virus on July 8.

The company also issued an internal memo to staff of the company informing them that Mr. Sawyer had been referred to the Liberian Health ministry for testing and close observation. “A family member of an ArcelorMittal Liberia employee died on Tuesday, July 8th, in Monrovia due to a confirmed case of the Ebola virus,” the July 11 edition of Satellite, an internal newsletter of ArcelorMittal Liberia, said. “The employee had minimal contact with the victim, at the state where the virus was infectious. “Doctors say the risk of potential transfer to any member of the ArcelorMittal staff or contractors is very low.

The employee has submitted to the Ministry of Health for a medical examination for possible Ebola infection, and has also requested the Ministry of Health to make the result available to ArcelorMittal Liberia and its close affiliates. “There is no evidence to suggest that the employee has been infected.

Under the Ministry of Health guidelines, the employee is being monitored on a daily basis and will continue to do so for a period of 21 days. During this time the employee will be absent from work.” The July 25 edition of the Satellite, which announced Mr. Sawyer’s death, reads: “Patrick was last at the Buchanan site (of AncelorMittal) on 9th July when he informed us about the death of his sister.

Having informed us of this news, Patrick was submitted to the Ministry of Health for a medical observation and isolation and requested not to return to work until he had passed through the incubation period. He has not been at the Buchanan site or in any ArcelorMittal office since that time.” But despite being under isolation and observation for the deadly disease, the Liberian Government, through its Deputy Finance Minister For Fiscal Affairs, Sebastian Muah, cleared Mr. Sawyer to travel to Nigeria for an ECOWAS convention in Calabar. The deputy minister personally admitted approving the trip in an online discussion forum, where some Liberian citizens raised questions about his action and competence.

Mr. Muah could not be reached for comments on Monday. His mobile telephone was switched off the numerous times when our source called. But the Liberian Minister of Information, Lewis Brown, admitted to the newspaper that his government knew Mr. Sawyer was possibly infected by the virus before he travelled to Nigeria. “I can confirm to you that he was advised by the Chief Medical Officer at the Ministry of Health not to leave the country because he was under observation,” Mr. Brown said by telephone from Monrovia, the Liberian capital. “It was regrettable that he left the country while being observed. “We felt he had a duty to his colleagues to tell them that he was under observation for the disease.

We also felt he had a duty to our country and yours (Nigeria) not to leave Liberia so as not to endanger the lives of others.” Asked why a Liberian government official approved Mr. Sawyer’s trip to Nigeria even when the administration was watching him for Ebola, Mr. Brown said he had no information that the Deputy Minister, Mr. Muah, okayed the journey. He however explained that such an administrative slip was possible at the time Mr. Sawyer left Liberia for Nigeria because at that time, inter-agency cooperation among government departments was low.

“It’s possible the health ministry was monitoring him (Mr. Sawyer) but the finance ministry did not know,” Mr. Brown said. “It was a slip and we have learned from it regrettably.” He said the Patrick Sawyer incident had now compelled Liberia to rework its procedures. “Now the practice is to share the names of everyone under observation with all other agencies, including the airport, so they cannot leave the country,” the minister said. “Before the Patrick Sawyer incident, we did not have that kind of cooperation. We were not locking people under observation down. We were only bringing them to the isolation centre after they showed signs of the disease.” Liberian newspaper, The New Dawn, which saw the CCTV footage recorded at the James Spriggs Payne’s Airport, Monrovia, moments before Mr. Sawyer boarded an Asky Airline plane to Lagos on July 20, reported that he looked “terribly ill” and wore a “sad countenance“ like someone in severe pain.

Apparently overtaken by “excruciating pain,” he, at a point, laid flat on his stomach on the floor in the corridor of the airport. The paper also reported the footage as capturing Mr. Sawyer sitting alone and avoiding bodily contacts with other passengers who came close to him at the boarding gate of the airport as he awaited his flight to Lagos. Mr. Sawyer became severely ill on the plane and was taken to First Consultant Hospital, Obalende, from the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos.

Reports of events before he travelled to Nigeria and soon after his death have now shown that top Liberian government officials were aware of his trip to Nigeria and appeared to have done nothing to stop him. The reports have also shown that Mr. Sawyer did not escape from where he was quarantined as reported by some newspapers. In fact, the actions of some Liberian officials suggested that they were more concerned with getting Mr. Sawyer to the convention venue in Calabar and cared very little about the health risk he posed.

After he died, First Consultant Hospital issued a statement saying it resisted immense pressure from Liberian officials to discharge Mr. Sawyer from the hospital to enable him to attend the convention in Calabar, with diplomats saying he had a key role to play at the convention.

Nigeria was free of Ebola until July 20 when Mr. Sawyer arrived.

He became terribly ill on his flight and was rushed to the First Consultant Hospital Obalende, Lagos, where he died on July 24. Nigeria’s Health Minister, Onyebuchi Chukwu, said on Monday that although the Liberian government has apologized for the incidence, it was pertinent to note that Nigeria was free of Ebola Virus until its importation by the Liberian-American. Mr. Sawyer’s action, he said, has placed unnecessary stress on Nigeria’s health system.

HealthSix Steps To Positive Thinking by INFO70(op): 3:50pm On Jul 16, 2013
Here are six steps to positive thinking:

1. Process the positive experiences in your life

Make some effort to really notice the positive things that happen to you everyday. Many of us don’t process these or dismiss them too quickly, meaning that effectively they receive little or no psychological benefit from the experience at all; it might as well have never happened!

Putting effort into thinking about your positive experiences over the last few days or weeks (no matter how small!) for just five or ten minutes every day can really help psychological wellbeing. If your positive experience was something that you achieved, such as cooking a delicious dinner or going for a run, you can also remind yourself that you brought about the experience, helping yourself to feel empowered and capable.

2. Build up the belief that you are in control of your life

Research has demonstrated that feeling powerful and in control of your life is one of the most important factors in psychological wellbeing.

People who feel powerless believe that their difficulties in life (such as phobias, fears, anxieties, depression, or lack of success) just happen to them! They think that other people, bad luck, or external forces cause these problems, or they don’t believe that they have the personal power to deal with any challenges.

Because they see these challenges as external to themselves, they don’t put much effort into overcoming their difficulties or making positive changes – in fat, don’t believe they can. It’s a vicious cycle.
Of course, there are some events in life that are not controllable but taking responsibility for your life helps you believe you can still overcome these experiences.

I you feel yourself thinking in a powerless way, challenge yourself. For example, if you think something like ‘I could never run a marathon’ change it to ‘I could run a marathon if I put in the effort to train hard.’
Set yourself a goal you know you can achieve but that will take some work [REX]

3. Mind your language!

Our language is a window, through which we can easily recognise our thoughts and beliefs. The language that we speak (both out loud and in our heads) is an expression of what we think and believe. Not only this, but the words we use also then impact upon our thoughts, beliefs and emotions.

If you speak and think negative, passive words, you will lower your mood, anticipate negative outcomes, make yourself stressed and feel powerless. If you use positive, powerful language, you will feel happier, anticipate positive outcomes, create less stress and feel empowered.

Pay attention to the words you use – either in your head or out loud – and change any unhelpful words for more helpful ones. For example, ‘‘it’s terrifying at the dentist, I’ll be a wreck’ could become ‘it’s a bit unpleasant at the dentist, but I can cope with it’.

4. Visualise what you want to happen in your life, rather than what you fear

Many of us unconsciously start to project our worries into our visualisations and ‘fantasies’ about how something will go. We can even play feared scenarios in our minds, which builds anxiety and makes the situation far worse when it does arise. For example, if you have been visualising that an upcoming plane journey is going to be terrifying and that you are going to feel awful, you probably will.

If you have been imagining the plane crashing you will be in a heightened state of awareness and when the plane jolts slightly on take-off you’ll immediately think, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to die!’

You will have built up a huge amount of anticipation that something will go wrong, and so normal flying experiences are instinctively interpreted as being frightening and threatening and you will have an unpleasant flight.

Instead, train your imagination so that you are in control – imagining and rehearsing what you want to happen, not what you fear.

This works really well for social events and performance-related situations such as going for an interview, giving a speech, overcoming a sexual inhibition or asking someone on a date. And also to overcome fears and anxiety-causing situations such as flying, darkness, being alone, spiders, knives, snakes, lifts, tunnels, hospitals and needles.

Choose a couple of events or scenarios that you have been worrying and thinking negatively about. Find a quiet place and spend five or ten minutes on each scenario really visualising what you want to happen. The more you practise visualising, the easier it becomes.
Visualise positively rather than getting bogged down in the negatives [REX]

5. Challenge yourself!

One of the best ways to feel more powerful, build self-esteem and gain a sense of wellbeing is to overcome challenges. So you need to have some to overcome. You want this challenge to be something that will be a little bit difficult for you to achieve but is something that know you can do – if you put in some effort.

The key to success is to think about the steps you need to take to achieve your goal – make a plan of action rather than a vague idea.

As you work towards your goal, keep encouraging and praising yourself for the effort you are putting. This helps you realise that all this effort will enable you to succeed. And when you do, you’ll begin to see how you can do the same for other goals and challenges in your life.Remember to recognise your achievement and say ‘well done’ to yourself for your hard work.

6. Keep Perspective

Perspective is about having a clear view or understanding of a situation: seeing the full picture. When you don’t have perspective, you are unable to have any objectivity over your situation – you can’t see the full picture, so your opinions and decisions are biased by the part you can see. This may mean you turn difficulties into catastrophes in your mind. When you feel this happening, the first thing to do is calm down and get a realistic idea of what’s really happening.

Did anyone die? Is your family in danger? Is it the end of the world? If the answer to these three questions is ‘no’, then there is no need to make a drama out of a minor setback.

We all experience unpleasant events and we all make mistakes but the key to being happy is to see them in context and move on, rather than making them worse by focusing in on the most negative aspect.

CultureHuman Being Suspect Parts Dealers Confessed by INFO70(op): 10:18am On Jun 13, 2013
Operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja have arrested three fleeing members of a syndicate who allegedly specialized in selling live humans and decomposing human parts for money rituals.

Their arrest came barely three weeks after some of their members were paraded at the Lagos State Police Command, where they confessed to have sold live human beings for N40,000, hands—N4,000 and head—N8,000.

Those recently arrested are Gazali Akewadola (60), the native doctor who allegedly offered N40,000 for a live human being, Alfa Taofeek Akinola (35) and Kazeem Sanni (25).

The suspects
To the bewilderment of all, Gazali confessed that live human beings were cheaper than buying dead human parts, saying all parts of a live human being are vital in the preparation of money ritual.

For instance, he said a life human being was bought for N40,000, “but at the end of the day, you get a lot of expensive parts from it. Aside that, it is even more potent because the efficacy of the charm or concoction prepared with live human parts cannot be compared with the ones prepared with dead parts.

“When a life human being is killed, one will get fresh blood which is used in preparing some charms. The same body will also give you hairs from private part, head and some mustache which are used for other ritual purposes. The private part is also very useful for the preparation of effective concoction. The head, flesh intestines, liver, heart, eyes, lips and tongues can be used for pepper soup which is usually very delicious than that of animal meat. I usually take the pepper soup so as to assure those who patronize us that it is not harmful. It also fortifies one spiritually.

“If you buy a full human being for N30,000 or N40,000 and pieces it, you will end up getting N100,000 or more because you will get more than 10 parts that will yield more money for you.”

Gazali who hails from Folahan, Ado-Odo in Owode Yewa Local Government Area of Ogun State, further said: “I am an Islamic teacher and a cleric. I own an Islamic school in Owode Yewa. I am also married with eight children. I am also a native doctor. I cure people of their ailments and help those who want to get rich quick, by using human parts to prepare charms and concoctions for them.

We use soft bones to cure epilepsy
“Most of the human parts I bought were sold to me by Kazeem Sanni. He used to sell dead human head between N3,000 and N8000, depending on the market price. The soft bones that can easily be grinded into powder are very cheap. It is just for N1,000. It is used to cure ailments like epilepsy.”

Asked why he did not use any of his children since he has eight of them, he said that would reduce the potency of the ritual concoction, adding that its potency depended solely on strangers being used. He said their victims were usually abducted from Lagos State and beyond, with the use of charms.

He further disclosed that aside the N40,000 paid to Sanni to get him a live human being, he gave him another N5,000 and a charm to hypnotize the male victims. But he said the plan almost failed as Sanni was almost caught. He, however, expressed regrets that despite the use of human parts to make other people rich, he ended up not only being poor but arrested along the line.

Money ritual charm changed my level
The second suspect, Alfa Taofeek, who is also an indigene of Owode Yewa in Ogun State confessed to have bought a human head from the third suspect, Kazeem, which he grinded and mixed with local gin.

According to him, “it was to enable me get rich. I am a Muslim cleric and I have been making people rich through this means but became jealous at a point and decided to get rich as well, since I was unable to get enough money from my clients.

“After drinking the concoction prepared with a human head, I got more customers and made more money. I even threw parties on a monthly basis to celebrate my new level.

“I also used part of the money to sponsor the graduation ceremony of some of my students in the Islamic school known as Alfa Taofeek Islamic School, at Owode Yewa.”

Customs officers lured me into money rituals
On his part, the third suspect, Kazeem Sanni, claimed to have opted for the money ritual business due to frustration from Customs men.

He said: “At a point, business was no longer moving because Customs men at the border were always seizing the goods, at the end of which their owners would force me to pay for them. I became frustrated even contemplated selling my father’s landed property. I decided to consult Alfa Taokeek Akinola to find out the cause of my predicament. He instructed me to get a human head in order to be rich. After that, he requested a live human being. I attempted kidnapping someone so that I can cut off his head but it was not possible. He then instructed me to exhume dead body from the graves which I did and got him three at the rate of N3,000 each.”

Their arrest, as explained by spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Ngozi Braide, was in compliance with the Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko’s directive to SARS Commander, Abba Kyari, to get the fleeing suspects, after the arrest of three members of the syndicate on May 15, 2013, with human parts.
