Thanks everyone who showed concern to the case between DelgroveNG and I.

Bookiemart helped reach a resolution to enable me get payment from DelgroveNG...

He offered to settle me in RMB at a calculation that was about 60naira/RMB if he was to pay me in Naira yesterday and not the 63naira/RMB he agreed to pay at time of the transaction. Everyone involve in the resolution suggested I take the money and move on and that's what I did.

I appreciate Bookiemart01's endurance during the long time it took to reach this resolution. Thanks

In all our dealings have i eaten ur $1, rather u tried to play a fast one on me...and BOOkimart called u behind the scene to let u know that is quite wrong

The indidvidual who claims i owe him money, has been dealing with me consistently, more than 6-9 times we have had forex dealings. He gets good competitve rate from, thus he sticks around and he knows my credibility is rock solid.

on this faithful day of 18th Saturday at about 8-10pm he told me he wants to get his cash from his Chinese client and place it into my offshore forex acct in China...I said fine but as of that weekend we had inconsistent FX rate, and i clearl;y stted to him that we will not be binded by any rate until Monday we get new rate and funds available to be paid him in Nigeria.

Thus he sent in (35,730rmb), on that Monday rate dropped so bad, he thought rate will depreciate that this cant be true, likewise may people whom want to send cash to China and those whom want to send from China to Nigeria. on the third day 23rd March about, he was like go for 64, i got 63/rmb...when he l;ater agreed to 63. the funds were sold. 24th.. when funds were now in 62/rmb. he is now claimin its my responsibility to pay him at 64naira/rmb. I told him, look we have been dealing for long so i am going to meet u half way. take some losses, i will take some losses. that was at 60naira/rmb. he refused bla bla....Ok provide any chinese account and get back ur exact money in rmb, he said NO, he only wants naira...he is looking for whom to send his FX losses on. This mi9n if u give me an account, u will get ur funds back and if u need naira....u will get at today's rate....u dont deserve any consideration. Nobody shares my losses, u could have asked me to transfer the funds to accounts of other exchangers but u didnt because of my credibility.

I didn't know Tabbaz already raised a case about on this but since you already wrote you side publicly, it should be my turn to write about it so that there is a balance.



My side to this transaction issue:


On Saturday, the 18th of March, 2017 I chatted with DelgroveNG that I have some RMB I want to exchange to naira, He demand that I send to his account and that he will pay at the prevalent rate anytime he is ready to send me my naira, I disagreed and insist he should tell me the conversion rate before i transfer the RMB.

He told me that he will change it at 64naira/RMB so I agreed, I calculated my money with his rate to see if the biz was viable and since it was, I decided to transfer the RMB {reminbi: Chinese currency} to the account DelgroveNG supplied to me. He confirmed receipt of the fund in his account the same day to me I asked for payment at the 64naira he told me but he said it was already late in China and I should wait till the next business day which is Monday, 20th of March, 2017 for him to convert the RMB to Naira and I will get my payment then so I waited till Monday.


On Monday, around 10am, I chatted with DelgroveNG to know why he hasn't credited my bank account I gave him to pay my money to, he said I should give him some time because business just started so I waited till Monday afternoon to ask again. On monday afternoon, the Diamond Bank Internet banking apps was having a downtime so he used this as his excuse that he isn't able to make payment till the Diamond transfer works because of the downtime that I should wait and he will credit me soon. Later that day when the app started working, I asked DelgroveNG for payment but he didn't reply.

Tuesday, 21st March, 2017 came and I was yet to be paid by DelgroveNG so I asked again for my payment, this time he said he was going to send my money at the rate of 62naira/RMB as against the 64naira/rmb he offered me on Saturday and I ask what is the reason why he wants to short pay me if his only reason for not paying my money on Monday was the Diamond App downtime and not that he hasn't exchange the RMB. I also told him that on Monday, I sold about 90,000RMB and the least I sold was for 63naira/RMB and if at all I will consider a lower rate, it will be the rate RMB went for on Monday which was 63naira/RMB. He agreed to pay me 63naira/RMB after our chat. (I will show proof with our chats screenshots)


From Tuesday till now, DelgroveNG has not paid my money. Whenever I chat him, he acts unbothered and unconcerned.

Good morning family. I think where we are having issue is judging people for the amount they sell their phones. We all need to understand the fact that, the price I choose to sell the phone doesn't really matter, so far there is a buyer willing to buy at that price.

Guys, ur opinion about him selling at high price is perfectly understood, but that u sell ur phone at a cheaper rate, doesn't make someone that sells his phone for a higher price a bad person. This is free economy system - law of demand and supply determines the pricing system.

I sold Le 2 Max in ur reference for 100k, not 105k and i am honest with my comment about not making a profit from it cos I bought the phone for $220 with shipping to Nigeria, I got my $$ from the black market at a rate of #450/$ and I still paid #2,000 naira waybill to send the phone from Lagos to Onitsha.

@Initialize, it's not new that most people selling products or rendering services here on nairaland experience this at some point. Nairalanders have this attitude of wanting to box you to a corner when things go wrong just because you have a reputation to protect (even when they may be at fault too), but there's a saying that customer is always right afterall (regardless of your ordeal). Just find a means of getting it resolved without any further arguments on your thread. Apologise if need be and move on. Sometimes, peace is important than being right.

Thanks for ur honest review of the issue and your unbias judgement.

I've told my side as it is and I have the replacement cable I got for him on my table. I've only concluded within me that I won't spend #4,000 on waybill for a single customer because I was the one that paid the #2,000 for the waybill that got the phone to him.

What I can reason now is that when next I have a waybill towards East or to Onitsha precisely, I will beg with that customer to help me transfer the cable to this person.
