1nigeriamyfoot:Remove the log in your own eyes first. How many sacrifices have you made for your country ? Before asking Dangote to sacrifice for you?How many sacrifices have your government made for you since you became a citizen of Nigeria ![]() They ask you to tighten your belt but they are buying SUVs of 160million each for themselves, renovating houses with billions of Naira yet you have refused to think deep to understand what is actually going on in that oil sector. 20 billion dollars is enough sacrifice already, do you know how many staff dangote have employed in that refinery? Abi you think he is paying them that unreasonable 70k minimum wage your government is paying you? What about the jobs that refinery a lone has created along that lekki axis of Lagos state? Why am I even responding to you? Seems you have limited knowledge of the topic of discussion. |
1nigeriamyfoot:Why is he adamant on forcing his substandard petrol on Nigerians? Probably more profitable to sell to local markets of which his company has every right to sell to whoever they choose to. Dangote is not against competition, but to compete with imported fuel is not a fair competition If the government can impose high tariffs on imported rice just to protect local rice mills in the country, why can't same be replicated in the oil sector? Ethanol based petrol is bad for engine, we don't want
Dangote petrol is the best petrol in the country right now. Alot of you have been deceived |
1nigeriamyfoot:When we say Nigerians are the problem of Nigeria, your comment is exactly what we meant. |
Oga carry your documents and go and sit down joor. Did NNPC not monopolize the oil sector by being the sole importer of refined products from overseas? Did heaven fall? If you want to fight dangote monopoly, the best way is to establish your own refinery. We cannot continue to import petrol which will drive up the demand for forex, put pressure on the naira thereby making naira to be N3000 to a dollar, is that what we want? For those saying he got concessions from the CBN for the forex he got from emefiele, he had already debunked that and even said he paid 100million dollars for land where the refinery is built, has sanwoolu explained what he used that money for?? Dangote is not the enemy but the government and their collaborators. |
R they begging USA for a peaceful coexistence? |
Onewazobia:Dangote Refinery, in an originating summons filed on September 6, 2024, accused the Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC), alongside several oil marketers, of violating Sections 317(8 and (9) of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA). The refinery contends that NMDPRA issued petroleum import licenses inappropriately, without proving a product shortfall. The refinery is urging the court to declare that NMDPRA’s actions contradict its responsibilities under the PIA, as it has not sufficiently promoted local refineries like Dangote’s. Let them prove in court that dangote is unable to supply the local market. Then you can come back and have this discussion, it's not by mouth. |
Johncuppa:MTN is foreign while glo is local, We can say dangote is foreign because he is located on a free trade zone. Let government ensure our own local refinery comes on stream ( that's our glo ) do you understand now? |
Your acceptance. |
Wasting of scarce resources of you ask me. Will that stop the next INEC chairman from switching off IRev at will? Especially when the opposition is leading? |
When I see Nigerians criticizing Dangote, I just shake my head. You want to force dangote to lower his price without asking the right question? 1. How much is the government selling crude to him? 2. These marketers who took dangote to court for reducing the price of diesel from 1700 to 900. R they protecting the interest of the masses or themselves? 3. Why is Tinubu silent in all of this? I hear people say dangote is trying to monopolize the sector and whose fault is that? We were in this country when Mele Kyari kept making promises giving different date on when our refinery would come on stream but nothing happened. The same masses complaining that dollar to naira is going up are the same people supporting marketers to put more pressure on the naira by sourcing for forex for fuel importation. What do we actually want? Let all the marketers pull their resources together and establish their own refinery to provide the needed competition since government govt can't get theirs working. Importation of fuel is not the best for us as a country. For those crying of monopoly, well maybe that's the benefit dangote will get for daring to do what a whole government could not do. Many of you here bought MTN sim for 40k when they first entered the telecoms industry with their huge investments, heaven did not fall. Let's support dangote refinery for now, BUA refinery is also coming, by the time we have 3 to 4 private refinery, I believe it would force down price. PS: Before you view this post from the lens of tribe, permit me to say that I'm from the south and dangote is not in anyway my relative. Just airing my thoughts. |

Iphupa:What is he trying to do? |
Should be less than that by now as there are now few cars on many Nigerian roads by now. How did you arrive by that number? Coming from the same agency whose Head lied to us that Dangote Fuel was low quality fuel. |
Why is Umahi resorting to personal attack? |
Very Good. |
Before nko? Good performance is not a yardstick for re-election nowadays in Nigeria, rather the best rigger wins it, grabs it, and runaway with it. |
ShescreamEWOOO:1000Likes for this comment of yours. You are absolutely right. |
Seefinish:To borrow money OF course. |
You are advising her to do what you cannot do. |
The monies you people used to procure SUVs and Escalade, 21Billion naira VP residence renovation would be enough to take more than half of those child from the streets. Those children belong to your senatorial districts and constituencies so go and fix the damn problem. |
Fiscus105:Lol! Typical Nairaland Teenager! Did I attack you? I made a harmless post quoting the report itself, I made an error Yes like every other person does, that includes you. The problem with some of you is that you have so become a blinded follower of Tinubu to the point that every post including good ones like mine sounds critical of him. . |
Good. He didn't merge any ministry, just change of name and then placed all regional development commission under the ministry. |
But Jesus paid taxes na, Give Caesar what belongs to Caesar |
That boy must probably be a Yahoo boy who has some mi!!ions in his posession. |
dhope:So annoying! Hope they won't come and tell us later that they can't locate the satellite on space and that it is missing. |
Why are you telling us? Isn't that supposed to be a secret strategy? |
Keyamo! Don't push your luck. Anybody who wants local dishes should patronize Air Peace or any other local airline. You cannot dictate to foreign investors how to run their flight services. I mean, is this decision even backed by law? Because clearly the statement from the minister of Aviation didn't quote any relevant sections of laws governing the aviation sector mandating foreign airline to use local caterers. I stand to be corrected sha |
Ok |
PencilBox: |
Was Nigeria working when Buhari was there? |
haybhi1:Please stop leaving on false hope, deep down you already know they will never succeed. The reason is simple; CORRUPTION! |
Pipe Dream? I wish them best of luck. |
