MadamExcellency: CBN should not give Dangote even $1. He should go to the black market like every one of us is doing. His refinery will survive whether you like or not, and he would be better for it. But you on the other hand, what would become of you?
If they refuse to support him with forex, would the forex come to you? It would still end up in private pockets of the worst of us ruling the best of us in this country.
So I ask you, what have you gained?

Politics › Re: Nigeria’s NNPC Continues Importing Petrol, Diesel Amid Dangote Refinery Surplus by integrity16(m): 4:37pm On Nov 17, 2024 |
WorkTheTalk: NNPC is in charge of selling Nigerian crude oil. The price that Dangote buys crude oil from NNPC determines the price of the finished products for consumers.
This is the same NNPC that owns 7.5% shares of Dangote refinery. This is the same NNPC that owns 3 refineries in Nigeria, but non is functioning despite receiving billions of dollars for mentenance. Also, despite the fact that Dangote refinery has enough products for consumers at the price that is determined by how much it buys the crude oil from NNPC, NNPC is still bent on importing.
Of course, importing petroleum products in the past 3 decades by NNPC has being the major means of looting the treasury.
When will the citizens of this country revolt to chase away these cabals who have stolen our common wealth for so long, or at least stop supporting them? Is it until when the oil wells all dry up, and the looters stay super rich, while the common man keeps eating from the trash can? 1000likes for this comment. Nigerians don't know what they really want. They keep supporting those looting the Treasury and they want the country to be better. Hypocrites. |

LandMann: Dangote, is that you masquerading as an association?
Who are the refiners? How much pms are they producing and why has pms increased from N195 to N1200 in less than 18 months of Tinubu's disastrous administration?
Dangote and his mushroom association of refiners must not be allowed to hold Nigeria to ransom by getting monopoly.
Nigeria's energy security will be at big risk.
Dangote refinery is already a prime target for other countries that Dangote or Nigeria messes with. They'll simply blow up the refinery so that everyone will suffer like Ukraine is experiencing.
Every well meaning Nigeria must speak against this move by Dangote.
If you know you can't buy fuel for N5000 per litre and you can't buy garri for N10000 per paint rubber, kick against Dangote attempt to monopolize Nigeria's petroleum product sector now I don't know why you guys don't get this. You don't fight monopoly with importation, you do by establishing more refineries to compete with dangote.
When you import, you are exporting jobs to other countries why they dump their products in our markets.
You saying prices of dangote products is high, have you addressed double taxation by both federal state and local government?? Extortion by security agents on the highway before those products get to the final consumer, are you going to blame dangote for that? Of course double taxation and extortion would be part of cost of production which would eventually be passed on to the final consumer. |

It's even good that Trump has won the elections, let him bring out a policy that would bring about reduction of global energy prices which would mean reduced forex inflows for Nigeria.
When oil price drops to 40dollars, perhaps that's when Nigerian government would borrow sense to support dangote refinery for local refining, as 40dollars per barrel of oil would mean greedy oil marketers wont be able to continue to import fuel into this country. |

Blackdisciple: Bro F the government and dangote I'm no supporter of any of them, because we have seen what dangote is doing with his cement he is getting it materials from kogi state and go to that area and see if they have benefitted anything from that cement refinery...
As for the government they should be ashamed of themselves... They have four refineries but they are here fighting to become a sole distributors of another man's refined product from his refinery so what happened to their own refinery that they have abandoned... (Wickedness, selfishness and greed) I am from the south, Dangote is not in any way related to me, granted his cement products are high even though he gets the raw materials from the country but the question why is the government not doing anything to force down his cement price? definately because they are benefitting.
The story is the same with DSTV, anytime there is an uproar as to price increase, they just go to settle national assembly members and thats the end.
Kogi state is another case study, one of the states blessed with irresponsible governors over the years, where is the WHITE LION? all the taxes dangote cement pays to the state that contributes to the IGR of the state, what did he use the money for? |

skywalker240: Actually it's the other way around
It's this your very delusion that Dangote is a knight in shining armor Dangote is not knight in shining armour. Have you read the PIA act? I guess not, because you Nigerians don't read and that's why your leaders take advantage of your gullibility. It's not about dangote being a knight and shining armour, it's about protection of local industry. Many of you Nigerians are jubilating that Trump won reelection back to White House, his imposition of high tarrifs on imported goods especially from china to protect their local industry was one of his major policy during his first tenor, thats exactly what we are asking uour government to do, you won't support that for the good of your country because many of you ate hypocritical in your reasoning. If you want dangote to sell cheap fuel, let the government sell crude to him for 400 naira per barrel or fix their own refinery. That's the way to go or else dollar to naira will get to N5000 by mid of 2025 and I will here laughing at you guys when you start crying of T-pain.
When this same marketers reported Dangote to the president because he spoilt their diesel business by crashing the diesel price from 1700 to 900 earlier in the year, he was not a knight and shining armor abi? Be playing.

Blackdisciple: Dangote thinks only him can serve Nigerians so that he will do what he is doing with his cement, go and see what is like in the same area his cement plant is located in kogi state.... In this part of the world we use too much of fuel due to unstable power supply and on vehicles what makes him think that only him can serve Nigerians... Baba do forget say we are more than what we were in 2000.
Thank God for Bus, larfarge and etc... It is not his fault that he is the only one operating a refinery, let the government allocate crude oil to other modular refineries to start operations and compete with dangote.
Also tell the government to get our 4 refineries working, so as to also compete with dangote.
That you people are supporting the government and criticizing dangote is enough reason why this country will never be good.
