Opebiman: they have the money doesn't mean they necessarily have to spend it.. especially if they can lure other investors into it. the blue line that is currently operational was built with a 70bn plus loan from CBN ..does it mean LASG can't finance it from their pocket?
apapa oworonshoki was built with over 90 billion from dangote. does it mean FG doesn't have that money to pay? Did you understand my argument that led to this response of mine? I mean if you understood my argument from the start, you wouldn't have quoted me.
I was responding to another poster who said Sanwoolu should have given the contract to local firms and I was of the opinion that his decision to invite foreign investor maybe because of our corruption index as a nation. Local firms would probably do a shady job because of our corruption index.
You even contradicted yourself with the Dangote construction story, the government still paid for the road dangote constructed as he didn't construct those road for free, he was given tax relief for them so either way the government still paid. So you cannot lump to the two together, dangote constructed the road for tax relief, Sanwoolu investors are investing their money probably on Build-Operate-Tranfer basis.

Opebiman: There is no High risk of anything..
LASG doesn't have money to fund it..so they need international partner who will only want to use their contractors if they are bringing in their money.. If LASG can pay for it.. craneburg a Nigerian company that built Anambra and is building Ogun airport can build it So Lagos state don't have #71 billion to fund the phase one of the project? A state that generates over a 100Billion monthly of IGR? Think about it. |

DeLaRue: Once again, this has started on a wrong note.
Interested construction companies should be coming to you, Governor, to express their interest. Not you going to them.
When will we ever learn about power dynamics, optics, and the art of negotiating from a position of strength.
There appears to be no end in sight to the African affliction of inferiority complex.
You are right. But I see why the Governor would want to go look for foreign construction companies to handle the project. The major reason may not be unconnected to our corruption index as a nation, it is high risk giving a project of this magnitude to a local Nigerian firm. |

EFCC, States, and the Courts are all complicit in recent happenings inNigeria. A court that would order police not to provide protection in an election.
How are we sure these states haven't gone behind to buy the eventual verdict of this case, after all a senator whose wife was a Judge testified many months back that he had helped his colleague to appeal to his wife to give judgement in the favour of his colleagues and nothing happened to the said Judge. |

Hmm! In as much as I applaud this initiative, I hope the new Nigeria Revenue Service will not contract its operations to a consultant called Alpha Beta.
Streamlining revenue collection would go a long way to block revenue leakages but I hope the new agency will be able to handle their own operations without employing the services of a consultants. |

Lawly: My brother VIO is not created by law and they are not even registered with CAC. Everything about them is illegal. They are just used by criminal politicians to extort the public and make more monies for themselves, with the intention that you cannot be able to sue them. They fail. Can you imagine! No legal foundation whatsoever for their existence. |

The subject matter you're asking is right to stop vehicles for inspection and VIO have it And there's nothing like federal or state road when it comes to VIO Road na road Oga! Quote the relevant sections to support your claim. |

Kukutenla: The judge is saying nonsense It is backed by law VIO is even a state affair so I don't know why a federal judge is giving judgement on it Don't just say it is backed by law, you have to quote the relevant sections where it is stated by the act establishing the VIO, except you have zero knowledge of the subject matter.
It is not a state affair as VIO officials are usually seen loitering on Federal Roads across the country. |
