Hello people, For the past few months I have been trying to upgrade my Huawei Nova 3i from android 8.2 to the new and efficient android 9(pie) made available by Huawei via their System Upgrade feature in the phone settings, I have watched various videos from Youtube on how to upgrade and even the features of the new android 9 was shown in the videos.

The problem I faced was; I always end up with the message the "Your version is up to date" each time I try checking for an update. I tried flashing the huawei with the android 9 stock rom I downloaded from a reliable source but I ended up not being able to because I have to unlock bootloader on my device first before having the access to flash. Having the unlock code cost about $55 on the net. So I decided to contact Huawei customer support for the code since the used to "give" before but was told they no longer run the bootloader unlock services for "security reasons". I now asked the support agent if their android pie update is available for Africa and Nigeria, she said the update was rolled out for africa on the 6th of June i.e this month oh and I will receive it shortly.

Now, I want to ask who in Nigeria has received an update for android pie(9) or as carried out the upgrade to android 9 in Nigeria here. If you have kindly give me a run down on the steps you took and the Network Provider a.k.a sim card you used to do the upgrade. Please you can tag/mention a tech. related user on Nairaland you know, as I don't know much

The world was battling FAKE NEWS, Now we have this, small time now we will be seeing "videos" of top officials saying things they didn't actually say.. In Nigeria the first target will be Buhari. A passenger plane slid off a runway in the US state of Florida on Friday night, ending up in a river after landing during a thunderstorm. Twenty-one people were taken to hospital with minor injuries, officials said.

The chartered Boeing 737, operated by Miami Air International, had flown from Guantanamo Bay in Cuba to a military base in the city of Jacksonville. Passengers say it landed heavily in the storm, skidding into St John's River.

The 136 passengers and seven crew members on board evacuated the Boeing 737-800 via its wings.
"No fatalities reported. We are all in this together," Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry wrote on Twitter after the incident. He also said President Donald Trump had offered assistance as the situation was developing.

On Saturday a spokeswoman for the US Navy in Jacksonville said that at least four pets checked into the luggage area were presumed to have died due to flooding.
"There's water in the cargo hold," Kaylee LaRocque told USA Today.

"We are so sad about this situation, that there are animals that unfortunately passed away."

One passenger on the plane, Cheryl Bormann, described the "terrifying" moment it slid off the runway.
"The plane literally hit the ground and bounced - it was clear the pilot did not have total control of the plane, it bounced again," she told CNN.
