I took milk every single day. In fact, I had a stash in my office that I would lick whenever. I never had protein in my urine. Maybe it's different for different people.

Very wrong assumption at the boldened. It depends first and foremost on the individual. And the relationship you have with your MIL.

My mum is late, so i never had the predicament of having to decide who comes first, but in all honesty it wouldnt have made an ounce of difference.

I cannot quantify the assisitance i got from my MIL. She was even in the delivery suite with me and hubby, she was the first family member to even hold the baby as i had an instrumental delivery and hubby was in theatre with me. She even spent the 2 nights i stayed on the hospital with me sef and told hubby to go home and sleep.

She had her beliefs some of which i didnt always agree with but what i know i can let slide i just indulge her. Like the oil in hair thing chai, it was like generous anointing .... but hey no one ever died from applying excess coconut oil on the head na!

The ones i dont stomach at all i will tell her ah mummy please oh.... abeg my liver no reach thank you or ah mummy just kukuma kill me first before you do that to dd. And she respected my decisions.

I didnt bath or dress dd for 2 months, and she most of the cooking. All i did was to boil pasta and rice, becausr we like it "al dente" and she doesnt know how to make it without being too soft. She will even bring breakfast to me in bed, when vigilante wan nearly wound my enemy.

She offered to move into our room to help with the baby but i refused as that is my marital bed and sanctuary. And with the whole "invasion" that a baby brings i mentally needed a space that i could sti call "my own".
She respected that But she was free to come in and check on us at any time T.

So it depends on the individual and not all MILs are out to come and groove and not lift a finger .

The work that woman did ehn.... if you share am give 5 people..... 2 inside go die, one go dey ICU and remaining 2 go dey normal admission.

For people who live in abj, we all know how risky it is staying in traffic along maraba/nyanya with all this bombing and news of suicide bombers entering daily

I narrowly escaped death the two times Nyanya was bombed! Everyday we pass thru that road, na serious prayer we de pray first. 

And I know dh wld object me going there with his child o! The man no want hear stories. Lol

But I go discuss with my mumsi sha
I'm close to her so I know she won't mind coming to stay in my house instead.

I tell my mum sum days that let me handle her alone today.... or 4 3days. Cos wen she goes nko. So just ask 4 alone days n let them watch.... alone days means u also washing o (cloths n bottle if in use)

I have 2 mother inlaws (dh papa marry 2 wives)
I know my second MIL will not come
But my dh's mum lives in Jos, while my mum lives in Abj. I and dh also live in Abj

So pls how does this omugo thing really work?
Who comes first?

My mum shakara too much. Told her to come b4 bsby comes she refused.
My mil came b4 baby came but she is older.
She tried but i can't send her on errand but she tried gan o.
Cooking n all n she is a retired nurse.
But she is old n left a day after naming.

My mum came d day baby was born n today that we r 5 weeks she is still here but leaving in 2weeks.
i prefare my mum o. But we disagree gsn due to personality issues... we no dey ever gree from time immemorial. Lol
But she does anything i want. Anything. Am free with her. And she knows so much about child care. In fact she has so schooled me that i can bath a newborn n do every thing.

Mil's believe they came to enjoy.... but ur mum believes she came to work.
if na to go stay mumsy place.... u can go o. U need her even if its 4 d first 2 weeks.
Then MIL can start coming.
