Job Description
Are you a Diesel Technician with a passion for the job? We’re seeking driven individuals, like yourself, to join our talented service department. Surround yourself with the tools you need to succeed as Diesel Technician by joining our team!
Responsibilities:
• Confer with customers or service advisors to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.
• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage, malfunctions, and wear.
• Inspect and repair all damaged parts as specified on the service order.
• Diagnose disassemble, clean, overhaul, repair, rebuild and adjust clutches, transmissions, engines, suspension systems, electrical systems, braking systems, cooling systems, steering systems, emission and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot fault codes and check engine lights.
• Communicate all issues to the Service Manager and ensure you are in constant contact with service advisors and management.
• Responsible for repairing diesel engines and all the components that help to make the engines operate efficiently
• Responsible for repair and maintenance of diesel engines that power many types of equipment, such as buses, construction vehicles, and agricultural equipment
Job Requirements
We have found that successful Diesel Technicians have the following qualifications:
• Must have at least 4 years of experience as a Diesel Technician
• Minimum of OND in related discipline
• Experience working with a team with several orders happening simultaneously
• Must be able to handle a high volume of orders and maintain a solid work ethic
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to meet physical demands of the job in safe and alert manner (job requires frequent lifting/moving, climbing, stooping, kneeling, seeing, grasping, wearing personal protective equipment
• Must demonstrate proficiency in the repair of one or more of the following:
• Car or truck Engines
• Differentials
• Transmissions
• Clutches
• Drive shafts
• Electrical systems
• HVAC systems
• Steering systems
• Brakes

Required Skills
• Strong skills in problem solving and a good mechanical aptitude

• Skills in computer operation and use are increasingly important for the diesel technician.

• Membership of the chartered institute of accountant of Nigeria is required
