Holders of Nigerian passports would from January 1, 2017 required to obtain visas when traveling to neighbouring Ghana, Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Hanna Tetteh says in a statement on Monday. The statement, which was copied to the Nigeria High Commission in Ghana added that, visa requirements for Nigerians would be published on the website of the Ghana Embassy in Nigeria. The statement did not give reasons for the new visa policy despite the existence of ECOWAS treaty that allows free travels between member states. Many have suggested that Ghana has turned into an “internet-fraud-friendly” country for Nigerians as 1000s free in daily to engage in various cyber crimes. Until the Nigeria Foreign Ministry to makes changes to its visa requirements for Ghanaian citizens, holders of Ghanaian passports would still enjoy visa-free travels to Nigeria. http://newsprince.com/breaking-news-nigerians-now-require-visas-to-enter-ghana/ |

Nigeria Boko Haram: Army 'releases child suspects' The UN says it has negotiated the release of 876 children in Nigeria, who were being held by the army over possible links to Islamist militants. The children, who had previously lived in areas controlled by Boko Haram, were held in a military barracks in the north-eastern city of Maiduguri, a UN spokesman told the BBC. Details of the children's ages and the length of their detention have not been given. The army has not made any comment. Human rights groups argue that there is no proper legal process for civilians, including children, who are detained by the army as part of their counter-insurgency operations. "We fear that there are still kids who are being at least temporarily detained because they are being released from Boko Haram areas by the army but then kept for a while," Manuel Fontaine, regional director for the UN Children's fund (Unicef) in Central and West Africa, told Reuters news agency. Earlier this month, 21 of the more than 200 Chibok schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram two years ago were released and reunited with their families. Nigeria has been fighting a seven-year insurgency against Boko Haram, with the army retaking much of the territory under the Islamist militants' control in the past 20 months. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-37805331 |

0 0 0 Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor, has banned Nigerians from seeking asylum in the country. The German authorities have claimed that most Nigerians fleeing the country to Germany were seeking a better life. According to Angela, most Nigerian migrants were not victims of Boko Haram, but hiding under that as an avenue to get asylum. She said that Germany opened its boarders to Nigeria so as to help give them protection but that privilege has been abused. Angel Merkel, said that this year alone about 10,000 Nigerians applied for asylum seeker status in Germany, and 13,000 applied from Eritrea. Germany, qwhich is one of the most sought after destination for asylum because of its open policy has now closed its borders. Speaking after her tour to Mali, Niger and Ethiopia, she said “we presume they are coming for economic reasons which is in contrast to people in Syria, Iraq, who are fleeing from real persecutions in their homeland, notably from ISIS.” Share with friends: Read more at http://www.herald.ng/germany-bans-nigerian-migrants-seeking-asylum/#4vTPu3Rlca117coK.99 |

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari's wife has warned him that she may not back him at the next election unless he shakes up his government. In a BBC interview, Aisha Buhari said the president "does not know" most of the top officials he has appointed. She suggested the government had been hijacked, saying a "few people" were behind presidential appointments. Mr Buhari was elected last year with a promise to tackle corruption and nepotism in government. His wife's decision to go public with her concerns will shock many people, but it shows the level of discontent with the president's leadership, says the BBC's Naziru Mikailu in the capital, Abuja. The president famously remarked at his inauguration that he "belongs to nobody and belongs to everybody". In the interview with Naziru Mikailu, Mrs Buhari said: "The president does not know 45 out of 50, for example, of the people he appointed and I don't know them either, despite being his wife of 27 years." She said people who did not share the vision of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) were now appointed to top posts because of the influence a "few people" wield. "Some people are sitting down in their homes folding their arms only for them to be called to come and head an agency or a ministerial position." Asked to name those who had hijacked the government, she refused, saying: "You will know them if you watch television." On whether the president was in charge, she said: "That is left for the people to decide." Mrs Buhari said her husband had not told her whether he would contest the 2019 election. "He is yet to tell me but I have decided as his wife, that if things continue like this up to 2019, I will not go out and campaign again and ask any woman to vote like I did before. I will never do it again." Asked what she regarded as the government's major achievement, she said it was to improve security in the north-east where militant Islamist group Boko Haram has waged an insurgency since 2009. "No-one is complaining about being attacked in their own homes. Thankfully everyone can walk around freely, go to places of worship, etc. Even kids in Maiduguri have returned to schools," Mrs Buhari said, referring to the city which was once the headquarters of the militant group. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-37642282

BIAFRA:THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT ON THE RUN AS ECOWAS THREATENS TO PASS FINAL JUDGMENT ON KANU'S CASE: COURT ADJOURNED TILL 8TH NOVEMBER 2016 Wednesday 5th October, 2016 It was a nervous moment for the Nigerian government toady at the Community Court Of Justice, ECOWAS (Economic Community Of West African States) Abuja, as the Court ignored every threat from the Nigerian government to conduct a hearing on Nnamdi Kanu's (the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB) case which has suffered an unending trial at the Nigerian judiciary. Nnamdi Kanu's defence team led by Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor arrived the court at exactly 10:00am while the three man panel of judges led by Justice Friday Nwoke from the ECOWAS Community Court Of Justice arrived at about 10:10am. Barrister Ejiofor introduced himself to the judges after which the court clerk called up the case. submitted a motion for his absence just few hours before court proceedings, claiming that he has a case today in Kaduna. Barr Ejiofor objected to this pointing out that he met him just yesterday at the court, while he accused the Nigerian government of plans to further prolong Kanu's case. Reacting to this, the presiding judge, Justice Nwoke, pointed out that the court case in Kaduna is not enough reason for their absence in today's court, stressing that if the federal government's representative fails to appear in the next court session, he (Justice Nwoke) will go ahead to give final judgment in the case between Nnamdi Kanu and the federal government of Nigeria. He also billed the Nigerian government to compensate Barr Ejiofor with the sum of one million naira only as compensation for flying from Lagos to Abuja for the case and failure to show up. Justice Nwoke thereafter adjourned the case to 8th November 2016 for hearing and final judgment. |
fake news pls disregard.. |
In an 800m Dollars suit filed by the Biafran leader on March 2, 2016, and made known by his lawyer, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, he sought a declaration that his rights have been violated by Buhari and his henchmen. He also sought an acknowledgement and a declaration that his continued incarceration by the Nigerian government constituted a breach of its obligations under the African charter on Human and People's Rights; the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights; as well as the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights; together with other international Human Rights treaties, to which Nigeria is signatory to. |
Economic Community of West Africa ECOWAS, is expected to do the needful and dispense justice, while addressing the gross abuses meted on Mr. Nnamdi Manu's fundamental rights. Hon. Ejiofor, has rightly put to use the right of Director Nnamdi as stated in the articles 9(2) and (3) of the community court of justice. "once there is violation of human rights, the ECOWAS court has to prevail" Damages for lives lost during peaceful protests were also filled to the community court. Many IPOB brethren were killed at various gatherings by the Nigerian joint military forces. Hundreds have been killed, many still missing, others kidnapped and many detained in various cells across Nigeria. This is due to the display of their fundamental rights as allowed by the United Nations Charter. Therefore, the community court is expected to do justice and rectify the damages done, as well as the judicial image which has been badly smeared by John Tsoho, under the auspice of the Nigerian president. The whole world is standing by, watching keenly and listening as the case is set to kick of soonesr. It is no secret that the federal government of Nigeria tried frantically to stop this process in a preliminary objection filed by her federal ministry of justice suit no ECW/CCJ/APP/06/16, it submitted that the sub regional court lacked the requisite jurisdiction" to hear and determine the matter. It is now a matter of hours before the court sits and we hope that we will not suffer bias or denial, but acquire Justice denied by the Nigerian court. IPOB all over the world have high expectations that justice will be served in accordance with the law.

The Community Court Of Justice, ECOWAS (Economic Community Of West African States) is a regional body charged with the responsibility of resolving cases of alleged human rights violations. The court has jurisdiction to address cases involving an alleged failure by a Member State to comply with Community law; which followed the adoption of protocol A/SP1/12/01 on Democracy and Good Governance. Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, and his defence team have dragged the Nigerian government to the ECOWAS Community Court Of Justice on the grounds of gross abuse of human rights and judicial process. Recall that admist Nnamdi Kanu's continued and illegal detention, the judges that have previously presided over this case had granted him (Nnamdi Kanu) bail on 19th October 2015 and ordered for his unconditional release on 17th December 2015 at the Magistrate Court and the Federal High Court respectively. Owing to these, the Community Court Of Justice, ECOWAS, will sit to hear Kanu's case and give her verdict. ECOWAS court is set to uphold justice and enthrone the rule of law to sustain public confidence with court rulings which has been rendered witless by the Nigerian government. According to Article 15(4) of the ECOWAS Treaty, judgement of the Court is binding on all Member States. More to this, Article 19(2) of the 1991 protocol provides that the decisions of the Court shall be final and immediately enforceable. Non-compliance with the judgment of the Court can be sanctioned under Article 24 of the Supplementary Protocol of the ECOWAS Treaty. The judgment of the Court must be fully and effectively implemented. Owing to the intolerance to violation of human rights by Ecowas court, information reaching Biafra writers has it that Buhari is in panic and struggling to find a way from preventing justice from being served. Today, the 5th October 2016, the world's attention will be drawn to the ECOWAS Court, the Court of Justice is ready to maximise these powers vested upon her to ensure peaceful co-existence of people's in this Western coast of Africa. Biafrans around the world are hopeful that the Community Court of Justice, Ecowas, will redeem the already damaged image of the judiciary system in Nigeria. Nnamdi Kanu will get justice and Buhari's manipulation of Nigeria's domestic judiciary will be crushed. |

Saturday, September 24, 2016 BONNY EXPORT LINE IS DOWN. On the 23rd September 2016, our strike team at 20:40PM hours time has brought down oil productions activities at the Bonny 48 inches crude oil Export Line. This action is a signature to the over dramatization of the so-called dialogue and negotiation process on the side of President Muhammadu Buhari and his government. Since, the cessation of hostilities and the commitment of the PAN Niger Delta Elders and stakeholders team, the Nigerian government and her agents are turning the expectations of the Niger Delta to shameful scenes obtainable in Nollywood acts and as well intimidations, blackmails and continuous profiling of Niger Delta sons and daughters. This is only a wake up call; we may not have other way to say it better. We are still in favour of the dialogue and negotiations but we are warning against " the peace of our time! We want the peace with honour”. We will resist all actions undermining the ceasefire from side of the government and it security agents/ agencies. The world is watching, time is running against the Nigerian state; while we were promised that the concerns of Niger Delta will be addresses once a truce is declared, the activities of the government and her agents are not assuring enough, there has been no progress and no breakthrough. We cannot be continuously fooled, the government cannot justify the indiscriminate targeting of Niger Delta youths while glorifying on these victimization of law abiding citizens of the region Brig.Gen Mudoch Agbinibo Spokesperson. http://www./2016/09/bonny-is-down.html |
