Biafra youth threaten war against Fulani herdsmen

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL) has threatened to take up arms in the wake of confrontation by the Fulani herdsmen.

BYNL President, Chimezie Obuka, gave the warning following media reports the cattle rearers were planning another attack in the Enugu State, where scores have been killed in recent days.

Obuka said his organisation would act in self defence and engage and herdsmen “fire for fire.”

“We are not going to tolerate any further attack in Biafra, the fact that Enugu shares boundaries with them does not mean our land would be easily taken by the terrorists who now disguise as herdsmen,” he said.

“If they want fight, they should give notice of where they will storm, we are ready to exchange bullet for bullet and sword for sword.”

Obuka further reacted to the recent statement by Governors from the north, allegedly defending Fulani.

“We are not surprised that northern Governors are sponsoring attack on communities in Biafra but they should be prepared because we will go to war. A time will come when we shall no longer rely on self defence, and
that is when we shall arm Biafra youth to invade the north.”

While comment could not be obtained from security agencies, Obuka risks being charged with treason.

Last week, he said the Security Wing of BNYL killed four herdsmen during a battle in Umuchigbo Abakpa Nike, Enugu State.

Schools have been shut as a result of the chaos.

He also accused the president of unwilling to protect pro-Biafrans activists. It recently disclosed plans to roll out Biafra self-defense units to protect peaceful campaigners and independence advocates. Army major, soldier killed in Rivers
;DThe tension in Rivers state ahead of Saturday’s national and state assemblies rerun elections went a notch higher on Thursday with the killing of an army officer and soldier.

The Nigerian Army confirmed the killing of a major and one soldier by gunmen suspected to be sea pirates.

DSS arrests Umeh over alleged support for Biafra ON MARCH 3, 20169:30 PMIN NEWSCOMMENTS By Vincent Ujumadu AWKA—FORMER National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and its candidate in the Anambra Central senatorial election, Chief Victor Umeh, has allegedly been arrested by men of the Department of State Services, DSS, over perceived support for the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. It was gathered that Umeh was invited to the headquarters of DSS at Amawbia at about 9 .00 am and after about two hours, was taken out of the office in a pick-up van en-route Abuja. Vanguard gathered that the security officials were said to have received petitions that Umeh was among those supporting the pro-Biafra agitators whose leader, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, is still being detained by the security operatives. A source close to Umeh said: “I am right now at Aguluzigbo, the country home of Chief Victor Umeh. His wife told me that he was arrested in the morning by men of the security service and taken to their state headquarters. “But at about 11 am, he was taken from the state headquarters to Abuja in a pick-up van. It was alleged that there were petitions against him that he supports IPOB. We don’t know who may have sponsored the petitions, but there are accusing fingers on some of his known political opponents. Right now, we cannot reach Umeh on any of his mobile phones.”
