Politics / Re: Fulani Herdsmen menace.....the Truth No One Want To Say. by Iremis: 8:05pm On Apr 29
Pecoleee345:
This is personal experience and it happened in southwest and I believe it the same almost every where in the southern part of Nigeria.

In 2019 where I have my farm in ogun state a clash happened between the igedes and fulanis.

My pig farm is very close to stream so most times this fulani bring there cows to the stream for water and we greet. This people were known in that village and we all knew were they stay.

They were notorious for always feeding there cows people cassava and they do this act mostly at night when no one is around the farm. One particular evening a man was in is farm resting and one fulani brought cows to his farm to eat cassava as usual but the igede man injured him seriously with cutlass and killed 2 cows.

This next day the police brought about 3 bus to arrest people in the village and it was really messy.

This are the truth no one wants to say that I found out with the Incident.

1.Most fulani herdsmen are just errand boys cos those cows belong to rich men in the community.

2.This rich men are the one encouraging herdsmen to feed there cows with people farm products assuring them nothing will happen.

3.This rich men only show up when something bad happens to there cows.

At the station we got to know the owners of those cows are actually yorubas and this herdsmen only get compensated with cash or get one cow after agree number of years of taken care of the cows.
Anywhere fulani herders are misbehaving in Southern part of Nigeria believe me the rich people who owners of the cows are the one enabling them.

(I wont bore you guys with how the matter was resolved but trust me it wasn't easy at all to get those arrested released).
t dude were brainwashed that they own the Nigerian state
Politics / Re: Peter Obi Celebrates CKC Onitsha For Winning WAC In Denver by Iremis: 4:13pm On Apr 29
NEWSCENTER:
In my usual desire of celebrating outstanding Nigerians, especially the youths, who are blazing the trail in different areas of endeavours, yesterday I paid a courtesy visit to the students of Christ the King College, Onitsha to celebrate with them for emerging winner at the prestigious World Affairs Challenge 2024 (WAC) organised by World Denver.

Having earlier celebrated them on the media for defeating other teams around the world, I was happy to physically identify with them today. By this victory, they have once again brought honour to our nation Education, as I have consistently maintained, is the most critical investment any nation can make in the people. Any committed government will not only prioritize education, but aggressively invest in it.

In encouraging the students, I reminded them that the future of the New Nigeria is anchored on the productivity of Nigerian youths. They must, therefore, take their education very seriously, and continue to develop themselves to contribute positively to the nation.

I sincerely thank the Proprietor, Principal, Management and Staff of the College, for maintaining the high standard of education among the students, both in learning and character.

Our commitment in the New Nigeria is to build a nation where every youth is empowered to achieve their dreams and contribute to national development.

It is POssible.

Politics / Jegede Confident Of PDP’s Victory In Ondo Gubernatorial Election by Iremis: 5:04pm On Apr 27
Former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, on Friday, boasted that the major opposition party in the state will win the November 16, 2024 governorship election in the state.

Jegede, in a statement he personally signed, expressed optimism that the PDP will put the state back on the path of growth and development after the November 16 governorship poll.

Congratulating Hon. Agboola Ajayi, the winner of the primary election of the PDP which took place on Thursday, Jegede appealed to other aspirants to join hands with the party’s candidate to rescue the state.

The statement reads, “I congratulate H.E. Alfred Agboola Ajayi on his emergence as the governorship candidate of the PDP in Ondo State in the upcoming contest for the office of governor later this year. I equally congratulate the PDP family on the successful conduct of the party primary.

“No doubt, the outcome of the primary conducted signals the beginning of the great struggle to wrestle power from the APC-led government and put Ondo State again on the path of growth and development.

“It is time to join hands and build a party that will fulfil the hopes and aspirations of the people.

“I call on all the aspirants/contestants in the race, who coincidentally are from the southern senatorial zone, to cooperate fully with the candidate and be part of the great push for the rebirth of our dear state,” the legal luminary said in the statement.

SUG President, Tobias Oshim Reacts Over "3 Million Naira Students Fund", Says Money Still "Intact"

By Wisdom Nwedene, Abakaliki

The President Student Union Government of Ebonyi State University, Comrade Tobias Oshim has finally reacted to the allegation levelled against him by the Senate over alleged embezzlement of 3 Million Naira fund meant for students.

In a statement made available to IGBERE TV on Saturday, Comr. Oshim said the money was never transferred to his personal account as the money is still intact and yet to disbursed to the students.

The statement signed by Ibekwe Chibuike,
Chief Press Secretary to the SUG President further said that the funds allocated for the payment of indigenous students' bursary school fees are still intact and will be disbursed once the committee issues the disbursement guidelines.

He stated that the allegations from the Senate are deemed unwarranted and uncalled for, as they appear to be aimed at defamation and soliciting public sympathy.

The statement reads in parts,

"Following the allegations leveled against the SUG President of Ebonyi State University, Comr. Nkwegu Tobias Oshim, the President has briefed his team and the entire Presidency this morning with the following key points:

1. The funds released recently, post the university's convocation ceremony, have yet to be decided upon by the union leadership. This discussion was delayed due to the convocation and its aftermath.

2. The funds allocated for the payment of indigenous students' bursary school fees are still intact and will be disbursed once the committee issues the disbursement guidelines.

3. The allegations from the Senate are deemed unwarranted and uncalled for, as they appear to be aimed at defamation and soliciting public sympathy. Claims of embezzlement or misappropriation of funds seem to stem from the unofficial stance of the Senate President, Comr. Usulor Marvelous, who purportedly requested cash disbursement of the bursary. In contrast, the SUG President, Comr. Nkwegu Tobias Oshim, insisted on direct payment to the university account without any cash disbursement. He emphasized his stance with the statement, "No cash gifting this time."

4. Comr. Nkwegu advised the Senate to refrain from continuous defamation and disgraceful actions against the reputation of the Students Union Government of Ebonyi State University. He urged the Legislative Council to adopt an investigative approach rather than relying on unverified claims. Additionally, he suggested that the Senate focus more on advocacy efforts that would enhance the welfare of the union and its student representatives. He also highlighted the Senate's oversight of the fact that the Union Government President still uses a motorcycle and keke to serve the students.

In conclusion, the SUG President emphasized that the Senate should not allow themselves to become instruments of defamation for financial gain but should instead prioritize the best interests of the students. "
