Married in school but single at home Welcome to Nigerian campuses where little girls are practising 'wifely functions'! Just visit the boys' hostels and you would be disappointed to find out that it is now common for a girl to live in with a course mate. It is now common for her lover to give her the popular compliment 'you look sexy my gal' and she would gladly reply 'thank you honey' with a flirty voice and a romantic smile. Who is her lover? A 300 level student whose CGPA is barely up to 1.78! And they are aiming for the next best couple award for the session by the departmental association. So, the girl need to live in with him to prepare along. What nonsense! It seems that some girls suddenly loose their senses immediately they gain admission. I've seen that some of them have no more sense of caution, honour and dignity. They would change their wardrobes and acquire a new set of make ups just to look 'campussy' and sexy enough for the guys. In months, they would start sleeping around with little boys. I mean boys who collect pocket money from their uncles! Dirty boys who most of the time are infected with sexually transmitted diseases. Hey! I want you to know that you were sent to school to obtain a degree not a disease. The campus is called a school; school not sex! You are on campus to receive education not ejaculation. You are here to master the use of a pen not the pleasures of a penis. Wake up girl! Do some thinking. Your future is greater than the 'best couple award'. You cook for a boy you are more intelligent than. You give your virginity to a boy who will definitely leave you after graduation. You play wife to a boy who cannot even care for himself. Oh, you have given too much. Enough! Open your eyes! Can't you see you're being foolish? You are passing through the fears of unwanted pregnancies yet you are opening your legs to a coward who cannot stand before your father. And when you eventually gets pregnant, he would brutally advise you to abort it and you would timidly agree; then face the consequences later. What a shame! You may master the use of condoms but you can't master the punishment of your conscience. Don't you know you are bringing shame to your family? Don't you know that you are cursing your mother by accepting to sleep with a boy (not even a man) without her consent? I cautioned a girl against sleeping around and she replied 'Sheddy, I don't sleep around; its only one boyfriend I have and am faithful to him'. What impunity! That's classified harlotry. And don't you know that sleeping with a man without your father's blessings is bringing a curse to your future? What happened to your cultural values? Somewhere in your heart you know he would use you and dump you; so why are you setting up yourself for a heartbreak? I want to remind you that you are a lady and one day you may get married. And your husband would know that you are such a dirty bitch who sleeps with anything on trousers. The greatest gift a lady would give to her husband on the wedding night is her virginity less lost it out of (rape) not the certificate of best couple of the year on campus! The other gifts for the rest of her life are her care and character not her curves and complexion! Real men know this; so, get it screwed in! Those treacherous boys would call you 'sexy' and you would answer? Oh, sorry! They touch your breast and you would smile? They would ask you out and you would oblige? Oh, you are indeed a mistake. Am not saying that you should be rude or never live a 'social life' but I want you to think deeper than you are currently doing. I want to turn your attention back to your books. You are not in school for breast exhibition. So, pay less attention to those boobs and give more attention to your books! You are not in school for cat walking show. You are rather here to show us the dignity of womanhood. You are here to prove to us that you are costly. So, why make yourself so cheap? I am writing this with both love and pain in my heart and that's why am sounding stern. I know about two girls now that have been living with their boyfriend since year one and as it is now they can't even even count how many abortions they had for that same boy at sch bae it's now like a normal thing to them, the last one she did almost took her life and that made her bleed for 4months, imagine how you do feel with ordinary 4 days of menstruation left alone living with it for months.. As a matter of fact one of them have damaged her fallopian tube due to excessive use of contraceptives she has taken to prevent pregnancy. I want you to look beyond now and think of what advise you would give your own daughter when you become a mother. I hope I have not offended you...if I have, please repent. To the decent girls I have seen on campus: do not be swayed by these evil. Be consistent and keep celebrating your purity. I am always proud of you. And God is more proud of you. Bocanegra didn’t reveal many details about his chatbot project but we do know it is built around Artificial intelligence, (AI). In a blog post, Bocanegra talked about the importance of life, death and digital immortality and how technology advancement is allowing scientists to work on new and exciting projects. “It’s a hard task to tackle but recent advances in artificial intelligence are enabling developers to build new applications with powerful natural language processing algorithms. Like a chatbot, I’m creating of my mom. I’m creating a chatbot that responds to what I say in my mother’s voice. It answers questions like “How are you?” and offers a different response if asked again, so it’s not repetitive. It also uses a machine learning algorithm to comprehend the various ways a question can be asked.” Raymond Johansen, an online journalist and activist commented on this project, “It is very exciting and could help A LOT OF people with grief. Also, it would give people goals while dying. Something to do while they wait for cancer to kill them. Prepare for death. Very exciting. Prolonging life and reducing grief.” Here’s a 46seconds demonstration how this chatbot will actually work: If you are interested making your own chatbot, Bocanegra wants you to send him aFacebook message. This is not the first time when CEO of Humai has decided to take on a task that would seem impossible some years ago. In fact, Humai is also working on technology to bring dead back to life. Humai, a technology company based in Los Angeles, says that it is working on a project known as “Atom & Eve” that would let human consciousness be transferred to an artificial body after their death. Artificial intelligence, the most important and major discovery of science will be one of the most helpful things in the whole project. The Humai have already started working on human rebirth using artificial intelligence. The three technologies collectively used by the tech giant company are “Nanotechnology, bionics & artificial intelligence”. The company is expecting the whole system to be ready in 3 decades and, of course, this type of work requires this much time. Artificial intelligence as the name suggests is used to add intelligence to non-livings. Humai is using this and nanotechnology to save people’s talking style, their thought process and behaviour. This saved data will then be coded to numerous sensors which in turn will be fed to artificial bodies with the deceased person’s brain. The founder of Humai, Josh Bocanegra told the Australian Popular Science: “I accept death, I’m not afraid of it that I’m not 100% sure I’m going to die one day.” So, they said on their Official Facebook page, “Will death always be inevitable? We don’t think so.” The tech company further says that the cloning technology of science will be able to restore the brain as it matures. Their vision on their website is “Humai is an AI company with a mission to reinvent the afterlife. We want to bring you back to life after you die.” While talking to Australian Popular Science Bocanegra said that the brain of the dead will be frozen using cryonics technology and when their technology is fully developed and ready, they will embed the frozen bone back but into an artificial body which would be fully capable of living as the deceased used to. Mind power over the body has always been appreciated by everyone who actually understands the human body. The brain of the deceased will send waves to the body as it used to, in the actual body of the human being. Furthermore, as the artificial body does not grow old but the brain does, nanotechnology will be used to repair and improve the dead brain cells. The CEO, Bocanegra said, “I don’t think of it as fighting death. I think of it as making death optional. I personally cannot imagine why someone would want to die, but I respect everyone’s wishes.” The most astonishing fact about Humai is that it consists of only five members. Two of them are researchers, one is the ambassador and an AI expert. This is not the first time when someone has started talking about bringing back the dead. Earlier, Paranormal Games started working on a game in which the dead might virtually come back and the game will reunite the players with their deceased family members and friends. Wireless interference is one of those things that we tend to not think about, because, well, we can’t see it. But routers are all over the place, sometimes several in a room when you’re in an office, conference, or campus and make no mistake, it’s an epic battle at the frequencies they share. MIMO stands for multiple-input multiple-output. “Multiple-input multiple-output” essentially means it can use several transmitters and receivers at the same time. The new system, called MegaMIMO 2.0, can transfer wireless data more than three times faster than the Wi-Fi we use today, and it also doubles the range of the signal. Developed by a team from MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL), MegaMIMO 2.0 could one day be implemented in the Wi-Fi routers we use at home, if device manufacturers like Cisco and Netgear end up incorporating the system into their products. But the biggest advantages of the new technology would be seen in more crowded environments like sporting events, convention centres, or airports where hundreds or thousands of people are all trying to connect to the same internet signal. As many of us have experienced, in public venues like these, the speed of the network can turn glacial, and that’s a result of what those in the industry call ‘spectrum crunch’ where there simply isn’t enough wireless spectrum available for everybody to get their data quickly. One of the ways of avoiding spectrum crunch is to add more wireless access points in the form of multiple routers for Wi-Fi users to connect their devices to. But this fix only goes so far, as each new access point creates a level of interference on the network that can also slow down data transfer. The technique works because radio waves will bounce off surfaces and therefore arrive at the receivers at slightly different times. Any network that can use multiple receivers can combine streams to transmit data much faster. To test the new system, the researchers set up a mock conference room, with four laptops travelling around the room on Roomba vacuums, and measured data speeds as they went. They found that MegaMIMO 2.0 boosted data transfers 330 percent when compared to conventional Wi-Fi. There’s no word yet on when we’ll see this new system in action, but the researchers are in the process of commercialising the technology, and say they’re in talks with industry partners to bring MegaMIMO 2.0 to the market.
