Good day everyone,
I recently took the GRE and the result was disastrous. Q 146 V 146. Total 292. That's is history. I intend to rewrite after careful consideration and in a order to meet the deadline of my proposed program. I have about 1 and half months (6 weeks) to do so.
I have identify RC, data interpretation as my major weakness. Though I still await the diagnostic to further ascertain how I fared. Please I need strategy on how to improve so I can cross the 300 mark.

For my previous exam I used magoosh video for quant and solve in 5lb. And magoosh video for verbal.
Which book and technique can you advise. Thanks for your time .

Please do better than a 310. The way the GRE works sometimes is that you could get quite lower scores than you anticipated (I can personally attest to this fact). I believe you hope to get some funds from the university (Partial or full). There is much competition for Graduate Assistantships, especially at good schools. It's better you have a score you may not use, than not having the score you need to be selected for funding.

What's your research interest? Or better still google online for USA University Professors in .... field, e.g., University Professor of Sedimentology in USA. You would have to do most of the research on your own, like going through each researcher's profile to see if you both share similar research interests. Also check out Linkedin for students, especially Nigerian Grad Assistants, for first hand experiences. They could advise on the best researchers (funding and character) to contact. Go to "msinus" and "Geology gradcafe" for profiles of admitted, rejected and funded students in different universities to know where you stand (Safe, Moderate or Ambitious choices).

Lastly, you would send numerous emails ( and I mean a lot) with probably a few responses. These responses should guide your choice eventually. There are a lot of email samples online. Just tailor them to your taste.

All the best wink

P.S. I am also for Geology (although Fall 2019)!!!

Thanks bro. I will keep working hard . I just want to know if the GPA is good enough to guarantee funding and admission

Politics / Where Is My Country? by isaacbill01: 4:29pm On Aug 16, 2016
I have not been following event as it unfolds at the current Olympics. so anxiously I called a friend of mine who is a sport analyst to inquire about the position of my beloved country and he shocked me when he said Nigeria is medal-less to satisfy my curiosity I switched on the T.V and coincidentally, a sport channel was showing the list of country with medal and I searched and searched all to no avail...
I realized my country is no longer what it was and now a ghost of its former self.
South Africa lead the black continent with the highest medal and its remind me of its dominance economically over Nigeria .
Maybe Olympics is not abt winning but participation. it is a shame when countries like Bahrain keep appearing on the medal table.
U.S .A , China and great Britain keep leading the world economically, technologically and now. "Olympically"
Despite all the disappointment I will keep searching for my country on the medal table as the game progresses. cc lalasticlala cc Omenka
