safarigirl: Which biased narrative?
I know the kind of senseless back and forth I went on with a Northerner on Twitter the day before yesterday, I know the kind of rubbish I saw from Northerners since that Saturday on Twitter.
Sadiq was not a good player. You can argue against people using certain terms to describe him, terms I did not even use, but what you cannot argue is that he was good and that is what the people I encountered were arguing for.
You don't even know where I was coming from, you just came at me because of silly tribal invectives. Did I use any derogatory term on Sadiq?
You were very defensive for whatever reason, and like I told you, you know why you felt attacked and I cannot do anything about that, but I also know why I chose to not entertain your emotion-laden rant
People bring up stuff here that is influenced by Twitter and Facebook all the time, and people can make commentary on it. You can get in your feelings though, I totally understand what discrimination does to people in Nigeria.
I just find it funny that there are Northerners that are complaining about representation in Super Eagles. Very funny Even on this thread, there are people complaining about representation in the super eagles whether foreign born or local or from a certain region- and these people are not northerners. These things are not peculiar to only northerners but a general Nigerian thing. I see no reason in saying "Northerners are tribalistic or they are all mad." Since when people started criticizing his performance, did you see me quote anyone to defend him? Most people on twitter ( northerners and southerners) are toxic and senseless. |

TheSuperNerd: Don't mind our in-house Elite Clown. All pace, no brains indeed yet Zaidu has successfully held off the Wendell challenge to reclaim his place as first choice LB of Porto pre-afcon. Zaidu isn't the most technical LB around but he is a fine mix of insane speed, power, strength and Decent technical qualities.
Never take that clown, komekn's opinions seriously especially when it concerns Naija players born and bred in Nigeria. He has always had a strong dislike for them from Osimhen to Iheanacho to Awoniyi to Zaidu to Sadiq to Chukwueze to Nwakali and like Kellycute says, very soon he will extend same bile to Akinkunmi Amoo (or he would avoid Amoo since he has now been called out on it predictively).
He is just trying to create a divide on our views here between the Home-grown talents based abroad and the Naija foreign born talents. But to the rest of us who truly support Naija football, like me for instance... I take them as all the same. I cover all them foreign borns and uncapped lads and the actual Super Eagles lads. You know this... the rest know this. So please, ignore clowns and focus on the rich content you came here to read okay. Don't mind some detractors trying to cause wahala. I started following this thread because of what you were doing on the previous thread about Nigerian players. Kudos for the good work my man |

humility33: Would have ignored your mention
But u know silent can be consent sometimes
U really lack comprehension of what I wrote or you allow sentiment becloud your understanding of what I wrote
I saw the comments of your brothers all over Facebook truly it is neusating and annoying to see persons call the coach biased simply because he didn't play musa and more
U need to understand that sentiments will never take anyone organisation or country far Okay, Just someone referring to the coach as bias and you used that to tagged Northerners along. I guess you didn't see all the comments on fb dragging the Sadiq matter along tribal line and calling him all sort of names? Since the first match that Sadiq was been criticized about his performance, did you see me complaining or defending him here? |

Kog45: If not recently i never see Nigerians complaining that their region or tribe is not fully represented in the national teams....I remember no single south westerner in Nigeria Japan 93 squad and the team was celebrated mostly by south west people with donations. Then people always supporting the team irrespective of players involved......but now everything has hidden agenda with people read meaning to views ir comments....oh he is supporting Nwakili cos he is a Igbo man or he is supporting Aina cos he is a Yoruba man...oh don't mind him he is defending Sadiq cos he is from the north,no thanks to our politicians.
Honestly, prior to Afcon Sadiq was one of the hyping players here and those who talked good about him are not northerners.Zaidu Sanusi is highly rated here even before he moved to Fc Porto,a moniker Chriskels brought our attention to Sanusi when he was with unknown team in Portuguese division one....Komekn criticized Sanusi often and he never did that on tribal level but football reasoning and I can tell you I don't rate him but am well pleased with his performance so far....Football or sports in general is beyond which region you come from but pure talent.
Sir,I don't want you to have that beliefs that Sadiq was criticized cos he is from the north?NO,prior to Afcon a lot here rated Sadiq than Awoniyi The person I quoted wasn't referring to this thread but fb or twitter where most people were dragging the Sadiq matter along tribal line instead of footballing. They called him all derogatory names; cow, aboki etc. They said he was invited based on "quota system, connection or a minister boy." If that was true, what about the other guy invited from the same league? Did anyone say he was invited based on quota system? Instead, she decided to pick what would suit her bias narrative that Northerners are defending Sadiq. It was the same Komekn that Said Sanusi was all pace but no brain... A typical Aboki. Can't they just criticize without attaching where he comes from or using a derogatory word like "Aboki" to refer to all northerners? Despite all the criticisms Onuachu faced, I never saw anyone calling his tribe or where he comes from when criticizing his performance. I have never come here to clamor for the inclusion of any northerner or even hype any player before. I followed this thread because it was talking about Super Eagles and TheSupernerd previous thread talking about Nigerian players abroad not northerners. |

safarigirl: You never contribute to this thread, but look at you fighting because you feel attacked. If a Northerner wants to talk on this thread, it is not you that nobody knows. Does it change anything whether I comment or not? If I felt attacked I could have done so whenever you criticize northerners here but I don't. I have been commenting here once in a while...so it's not my first time. You wei people know oya clap for yourself. |

humility33: Dear .I weak
I have never seen folks so tribal and biased ridden like those folks reason. Now i believe the quota system claim. You're one of them I guess. If the quota system noise is true, then both of them got invitation through it since they both play in the same league. |

safarigirl: LOL
The core Northerners are making noise
If they are so desperate for Northern representation, is Sanusi not a human being from the North?
They must all be mad. The same Sanusi folks here called Aboki with pace but no brain? You are the ones being tribalistic with d Sadiq stuff in all honesty. Criticize his abysmal performance without dragging his tribe or using quota system or calling him cow. How many Northerners are even complaining they don't have representatives? |

safarigirl: Thank God Sadiq saw 30 minutes of game time today and 15 minutes in the last game
It is not the usual 10 minutes cameo. He did not get a cameo and we have seen more than enough
Iwobi that came on for less than 10 minutes against Egypt, we saw what he did in those 10 minutes.
A player who is good does not need to start a game or play for 45 minutes before they show their mettle.
Even Awoniyi's first game, despite not scoring, we saw what he brought.
Please, let us not even try to use game time to make excuses for some players, because there is no truth to it in this scenario. 30mins?? from 82 to 90mins abi na me node see well |
