Goodness is just 22-year-old who was born in Borno, North East Nigeria, but she is an indigene of Ogun State. Her mother is Igbo from Abia. The 400-level Dentistry student of University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, is the Creative Director of Gudie Designs, specialising in making shoes and all kinds of footwears. What she started as a pastime has transformed into a business entity which she hopes to grow to become a global brand, notwithstanding her busy schedule as a medical student. According to the interview between DAILY GIST and Goodness, the enterprising female basically started making foot wears in 2018 but before then, after her Cambridge A levels, came back home and was a bit quite bored on what to do which led her to get-go involved in other creative activities like crocheting and bead making. Goodness mentioned that her creative works are not affecting her medical studies but she’ll probably abandon the medical school and pursue shoe-making because it will bring more money compared to the stipend they pay Doctors in Nigeria. She said: "I just want to have the certificate, honestly speaking. I would have just left it but I feel people will respect you more when you have a certificate. I don’t think my secondary school certificate is enough and again still may actually not be there 24 hours making the shoes; people may help me. So I may be bored and I need something to do. I may be practising medicine but the brand is still there." She also talked on how much she makes when business is good and aired that she doesn’t make less than N200, 000, and sometimes, it gets up to N300,000 in a month. http://luyisupdates.com.ng/meet-ui-female-medical-student-who-would-rather-quit-medicine-than-abandon-shoe-making/ Cc: Mynd44 lalasticlala fynestboi

A Nigerian lady Basirat Rufai emerged the best graduating pharmacy student of the 2018/2019 set in the University of Ibadan. The first class graduate came tops in all her pharmacy courses claiming some awards in the process. The brainy lady also bagged distinctions in all her pharmacy courses and topped her amazing academic feats with an almost-perfect CGPA of 6.9 in a 7.0 grading system - a first-class honour. Basirat Rufai is at the moment, in a class of her own. The young lady's academic pursuit at the University of Ibadan ended on a very high note as she finished in a majestic fashion. In a post made on Monday, February 8, 2021, on Linkedln, Basirat said she is proud of herself and went on to appreciate God for his unending support to her quest for academic excellence. She also praised her family, loved ones and lecturers for being with her in each step of the journey. Congratulations to her!
