Do you trade forex, you just sounded like a macroeconomics forex trader.. I don’t but I am open to it if it is profitable. The reality is that savvy portfolio managers (local and international) use some form of technical analysis. It could be trendline, chart pattern, moving averages etc Cheers Iskalamong! . |

ositadima1: But people entered WAPCO at ₦30 based on charts and technical analysis, or do you think TA traders only buy stocks like Zichis? TA traders enter stocks not because the financial statements say so; they often don’t even look at them. They look at charts and price action.
I remember telling you, based on the charts, that WAPCO was a buy at ₦30. I can even bring up that post if you want to argue about it. Real investors and traders usually use both. Fundamentals to know the quality of what you’re buying. Is it worth buying? Is it overvalued or undervalued? Technical analysis to know how it is trading or how it trades. Uptrend or downtrend? Are moving averages reliable for trading the stock? Is it at a resistance and ready to breakout? Is the price movement predictable or random etc Sentiment to know whether it’s time for quick money or whether the market is risk off. Other analysis can be used as well. Example: seasonality. That is, does the market tend to rally at certain periods? Etc. Combining these greatly improve your chances of success. Cheers Iskalamong! . . |

GabsonFX2: Don't mind the scvmmers: The strategy is the simplest of all kind: Strategy that gets me paid by FTMO almost every 2weeks trading cycle, sometimes 5 figures, and sometimes 4 figures. How is their own different, it's cos they are surprised and in shock to have me as their client.
I trade only one pair: gold I don't use more than 45-50% margin at a time, lot size of 0.25, or 0.30 or 0.5 on one pair is not too much on a 100K account, I entered 1.0 lot size only on 3 occasions when my confident level was 100. Again, that is not too much for a 100K account. I don't do bulk trading, only one trade at a time, in rare cases, I would have 2 or max of 3 trades at a time, not more I don't use EA, no bot, no copy trading.
I chose them cos I read they are next to FTMO, but eh, they are at the very bottom of the spectrum: I broke no rules and this is why they ghosted me, no email to say why they deactivated my account. You are the second consistently profitable trader I know that will be complaining about the5ers. The first person said something along the line of him being too profitable or exceeding the expected profit target. I can’t remember his exact feedback. HesInMe: I'm just wondering what you're seeing in the company to bet on it long term. The business seems undifferentiated, and their fortunes are tied to the whims of a handful of customers. If MTN wakes up and vexes... That company’s historical financials speak volumes in terms of exponential growth. The price movements have also been impressive. The stock is a multibagger stock and based on their recent numbers, there seems to be more gas in their tank. I understand your point in terms of their undiversified customer base (customer concentration risk). It is valid but that stock is potentially one of the biggest (and financial performance backed) compounders on the NGX in recent times. Very similar to NAHCO, PRESCO and SEPLAT. Other stocks that may tow that path are ARADEL and TIP. Best regards, Iskalamong! . . |

IyaTola: IMPLEMENTATION OF A PEER-TO-PEER (P2P) SHARE TRANSFER SYSTEM ON THE NIGERIAN EXCHANGE (NGX)”
It is advisable for the Nigerian Exchange Group to consider introducing a direct stock transfer or peer-to-peer (P2P) share transfer mechanism within its trading infrastructure, similar to the model used by cryptocurrency exchanges.
Such a system would enable investors and traders to transfer listed equities directly between verified accounts on the exchange platform, without the compulsory involvement of traditional stockbrokers for every transaction. Technically, this could be implemented through a centralized digital registry or blockchain based settlement layer that records ownership and validates transfers in real time.
By integrating this functionality, NGX could achieve several strategic benefits:
* Improved market efficiency: Real time or near real time settlement of equity transfers.
* Reduced transaction costs: Minimizing brokerage intermediation for simple transfers between investors.
* Enhanced liquidity: Easier movement of securities between market participants may stimulate trading activity.
* Greater investor participation: Retail investors may find the market more accessible and technologically aligned with modern digital asset exchanges.
* Transparency and security: A digital ledger system can provide an immutable record of ownership and transaction history.
To ensure market integrity, the system could still operate under NGX regulatory oversight, incorporating KYC/AML compliance, account verification, and transaction monitoring, while allowing investors greater flexibility in managing and transferring their equity holdings.
Overall, implementing a secure digital share transfer framework could modernize the NGX ecosystem and align it with emerging global trends in financial market infrastructure.
Veteran Kingsley W. This will significantly reduce the importance of brokers. It will also significantly reduce their brokerage income as well. I doubt SEC will approve such any time soon.. But if implemented, it will really reduce transaction costs for investors and traders. Iskalamong! . . |

Abeg na rumours oooooo... Wetin I dey talk sef?
DYOR From a technical stand point, Oando has broken the N47 weekly resistance by closing above it today. That's a valid break of structure (BOS), if price makes new high in the coming week without breaking the support at N40, then we are likely going higher. That will confirm a market struture shift (change of character). Thus, we may have seen the bottom and may be at the beginning of an uptrend. Position trading stop loss would be below recent swing low at N35 and target above N90 mark. Entry below N50 (The lower, the better). Reward to risk is c.3:1 to 6:1 depending on entry point and trade execution costs. All in, your rumours align with the stock's technical picture. I could even say bitcoin is primed for new highs before we even see a new low. Same way Q4 euphoria was ever crowded.. the 4yr cycle bear market style -80% drawdown is over crowded, it may not seem like it, Infact, it’s even looking more like 2022 style with a dead cat bounce in March during the Rus/UKR war, but I bet my balls on it we are not seeing the same price action.. There are lots of metrics that screams a new high and Alt outperformance this year or maybe I’m just living in an alternate universe..

Fxwarrior: I expect bullishness in gold.
First entry will be 5155
If what I am expecting works out, gold might be over 10 000 to 15 000 pips up by April. For now, US stock indices are rising and gold is falling. This indicates one thing, risk on sentiment. I would rather wait for sentiment to reverse before taking a long position in gold. Short for now or staying on the sidelines makes sense. Today, we saw London sweep Asian high and reversed (This is textbook turtle soup). Since Nymex open and Newyork cash open, price have not been able to sweep Asian or London highs, instead, there have been downward displacement (though not aggressive), this hints at bearish continuation (or sideway market). Likely day trading target is asian low or yesterday's low at c.$5,000.00 and stop loss above London high. Anayways, no strategy wins 100%. Lets see how the market plays out. Harddiskng: Pull what by how many %.
Just so you know, a stock with strong fundamentals and great future prospects won’t pull back massively so you can enter lol.
Instead it will keep increasing in price.
Ask Aradel, it popped up on my criteria around 500 ish months ago (attached was my mandate). Instead of me to jejely buy at market price, i was looking to get it at a discount. Always nding in a bit lower bids. E no wait for me oo, till i missed that ship (know at what price to stop chasing).
If i had entered at market price, I would be doing nearly 90% return by now.
Besides i have discovered i have no reason to beat myself up on 10-20% discount when i am looking at over 500 -1,000% return in 5 years Another angle. A valid one at that. I tend to buy and sell within a year in most cases. Rinse and repeat. Over a long term period, the 10 to 20% discount or premium will not matter as much as it would if you missed out entirely on the entry (provided it is a fundamentally sound stock with great prospects). Elsewhere, not to argue but as regards Aradel, before its bull this year, many traders had to cut their loss on it for lack of momentum. Aradel literally dropped below N400 after it crossed the N800 mark post listing. That's a c.50% dip. Cheers 🍻 Iskalamong! . . |

My major concern in this market is OANDO. Wale should be fast before 2027 politicking starts ooooo
Nobi me una go use gather elections bulala
If you understand this eh Historically, pre-election years are not the best equity years in Nigeria. Many times, in H2, liquidity may dry up and sellers may dominate activities. It is important to note that the dynamics are different now. Local players now dominate the bourse and positionings are mainly long (buy). In addition, the maximum equity allocation for pension funds have been raised and market corrections may provide accumulation opportunities for large pension fund orders. The two factors above should minimise the level of the selloff. Hence, when the correction comes, I think we should not be too bearish (Example is the correction in November 2025) My humble opionion. Harddiskng: To answer your question, I don’t think i have to explain how weight averages works naa. I buy stocks when i have spare cash. At each point it is different amount. A=50 naira, B = 20 naira, C = 5 naira etc. depending on the amount invested in each stock and return on it, it all averages down to 20% return YTD
You have a YTD of about 30% YTD. Please how many stocks do you have in your portfolio?
NB: the purpose of this debate is for us to have better geared portfolios. For those saying two stocks blah blah blah, except your God or your Juju man can see the future; it is a floored argument. So please let’s explain concepts better and i won’t listen to you if you don’t show you have evidence of what you are saying - Post your YTD return. It is like a poor man giving a seminar on “maintaining generational wealth”
Make una answer me fast, I intend to use a significant capital outlay (well significant in comparison to my portfolio value sha ) to diversify more today - i feel it’s necessary for an entirely different sound reason. Mind you I don’t just pick stocks at random and pour money in it. If youre going really heavy as you said. I'll advise you wait for a pull back and for 2026 financials to start rolling in. This will provide clarity on the companies that are presently fairly valued, overvalued and cheap. This strategy works everytime. The bad side is that you may miss this rally if it extends longer than expected. Alternatively, you can research on earnings expectations of NGX listed companies, use this for your valuation and compare your value with present stock prices to catch winners with potential for more rally (this is more advanced though). vacanci: Ordinary NCR and Eunisell on the NGX did better than Gold, silver, Uas Dollar, Bitcoin, Etherium, Solana Tesla, Meta, Nvidia and Apple the last one year and gave a huge return better than what the gold gave.
How about that? I think you need to consider the nature of the return. What are the drivers of these returns? Are there economic moats or is it a valuation play? Hence, those returns are likely the reward for a high risk investor. Gold and Silver are mainstream and the drivers are very clear. (Geopolitical tensions and de-dollarization) The price expectations are projected by major banks e.g Goldman Sachs, JP morgan e.t.c. This makes the risk element different. It's not always about the return, the risk component also matters alot Cheers! Iskalamong! . . |

Be a smart investor and not a dummy that confines himself only to a single market. Capital flows to where returns are guaranteed and risk rewarding. Practice portfolio rebalancing and asset diversification.
