CommentatorPro: Nigeria is a country blessed with talent, resources, and resilience — yet it continues to struggle under the weight of bad leadership, corruption, and poor governance. From unreliable electricity to the rising cost of living, it sometimes feels like every sector is crying out for help.
Now imagine this: you suddenly become the President of Nigeria — but only for one week. You have full control to make key decisions, sign executive orders, and implement reforms. No bureaucracy, no political godfathers — just seven days to make a difference.
What would you fix first?
Would you focus on the economy, to bring down the price of food and fuel? Would you tackle security, ensuring that citizens can travel freely without fear of bandits or kidnappers? Or maybe you’d go straight to education, reviving schools, paying teachers well, and making universities work again?
Some Nigerians say they would start by cutting government salaries and reducing the cost of governance. Others believe the first step should be arresting corrupt politicians and recovering looted funds. A few even argue that constitutional reform is the only real solution to Nigeria’s endless cycle of problems.
Whatever your opinion, one thing is clear — most Nigerians know exactly what they want fixed; they just haven’t had the power to do it.
So, let’s hear from you If you had just one week as Nigeria’s President, with total authority to act, what’s the first thing you’d change and why?
All the money present at the federal account and reserve at the time of assuming the office should be transferred to my account
This year's WASSCE results offer deep lessons for us all. With only 38.32% of candidates obtaining five credits including English and Mathematics, it’s clear that examination reforms like serialisation and real-time digital scoring have reduced malpractice, but also exposed serious gaps in student preparedness.
This outcome should not discourage us but motivate a re-evaluation of our teaching methods. Emphasis should shift towards critical thinking, independent learning, and consistent assessment. As educators, we must focus more on building students’ confidence in tackling questions on their own — especially in core subjects.
Parents too must play a stronger role at home, while students need to understand that shortcuts no longer work. Hard work, discipline, and honest effort are now the only path to success.
WAEC’s move toward full digitisation by 2026 is another reminder that we must begin preparing our students for a more technology-driven assessment model.
This result is a challenge, but also an opportunity for transformation.
Jetland: Instead of addressing the real issues, you're subverting or deflecting blame. How is Kogi state a problem to Ondo and SW? For your information, Fulani (the real perpetrators of these criminal activities) are not from Kogi state. Kogi State is also a victim of the general insecurity in the country.
In case you didn't know, Kogi State is the only state in Nigeria that shares boundaries with almost 10 states across the country. The implications of this are that, if 2 criminals moved from each of these states to Kogi State, then Kogi would have about 20 to deal with.
The original problem is not from Kogi State, so we should deal with the source if we really want to curb it. Additionally, we also need to channel our energy and hold the federal government responsible for their incompetence when it comes to the insecurity affecting the country.
Lest I forget, I'm from Kogi State, and I'm typing this from Kogi State. I can count how many of those Fulani criminals the state government had dealt with. Tell the FG to stop handling those bastards with kid gloves.
Mrfeel: Why didn't he mention how old his wife was when he married her? Plus someone born in 1974 will be 18 in 1992
That very good but come to think of it do you check the mouth she was given birth to and the mouth she did her weeding in that 1992 to know she has reached 18
It's imperative for Muslims to be guided based on conviction and understanding on issues that scholars have different opinion and views on. Do not force what you have accepted to be correct from the views of the scholars on anyone for as long as the scholars are not unanimously on one view. The scholars are divided in their opinions when it comes to eating Christmas food, we have those who said it's MUBAH MUTLEQ(generally permissible), MAKROOR(dislikeed), and those who said it's Haram (forbidden). All of these three made effort to substantiate their points with proves from the Quran, Hadith and even logic. And you are going to find some of our respectable scholars not agreeing on this issue. Acceptance and following is not restricted to knowledge or level of Iman, to further substantiate my point SHAIKH NASIR'DEEN ALBANY was reported to have said eaten Christmas food is not Haram, yet he don't eat it, same way he held the view that NIQQAB is not compulsory yet the wife was reported to be a NIQQABITE , from this it was deduced that the IMAN of scholars is above their fatwah. So am appealing to some of you that Allah has placed in a position of knowledge, when ever you intend to address issue that the scholars are not on one views, make clarification by providing the various argument of the scholars and why you accepted and follow a certain view regarding that issue rather than been dogmatic on what you perceived to be right. The Mallam who brought me up in the light of the Sunna and made me see Christmas food to be Haram, is now saying it is Halal, this experience is one of such that made it a point of necessity for me not to accept an opinion without having a basic knowledge of the issue. Guidance is in the hands of Allah and not man. We ask Allah for beneficial knowledge and rightful guidance. Allah knows best.

Gistmedia10: A young lady has recently drawn significant attention by performing a spiritual rite involving a fresh catfish. This ritual, deeply rooted in African tradition, is believed to cleanse one’s spiritual essence and ward off negative energy while attracting favor and protection.
The practice, observed by African religionists or traditionalists, involves placing the catfish on her head as part of a ceremony meant to appease her 'head' or essence. This act is intended to ensure she is safeguarded from spiritual negativity and blessed with positive energy.
Despite the ritual's cultural significance, many have criticized the practice, arguing that men should avoid relationships with those who engage in such ceremonies.
zkm3: Two men or two women decide to swing one way in their privacy, how does it affect you? Someone says he or she is bi, why is it a problem? Someone is confused about their gender, why does it concern you?
Why not do your own and let them do their own and everyone is happy?
LGBTQ are human beings and have rights to life, love, employment, association, security and the same human rights every human being has. How has their decision to be LGBTQ affected anyone? If you are uncomfortable with their choice, stay away from them or relate with them as human beings that they fundamentally are.
What rights do LGBTQ have that are strange? If they want to marry, they can go to countries where such things are allowed. If they want to adopt children, they can be refused if extant laws do not permit it. Infact, by being LGBTQ, they already forfeit the rights to have children and must not force the system to give them those rights.
So those shouting anti-LGBTQ rights, be bold to explain those rights to us and how they harm you.
I am against teaching children LGBTQ in schools, I am against forcing everyone to jump on the LGBTQ train. I am against moral policing of LGBTQ if other societal ills cannot be policed with the same level of hatred.
The way those who attack LGBTQ, why don't they attack bad governance, social corruption like politicians pocketing money meant for all of us, governors appointing local government caretaker chairmen as if those ones are their employees, governors disrespecting Supreme Court judgements, civil servants corruptly drawing salaries while abroad, Nigerians supporting political criminals because they get crumbs from their loots? Are those issues less volatile than LGBTQ?
LGBTQ too need to stop fighting everyone as if there is supposed to be a winner. let them do their things in their privacy and respect other people who are not LGBTQ.
DISCLAIMER: I am not LGBTQ or pro-LGBTQ; I am pro-humanity, pro-choice and pro-commonsense. Having worked with someone with L, my conclusion is that human beings are what they are. A bad person remains a bad person irrespective of sexual orientation, while a good person remains a good person irrespective of his orientation. The woman who was an L was one of those who promoted me in my career.
I just hope your son's will bring is fellow man that he wants to marry him Aamen likewise your daughters
Barrywilly: This is a gross violation of their rights. You don't have any business or right to video them or expose them to the media. They own their bodies.
If they are proud of what they are doing they don't need to run or look for where to hide Or are you not proud of what you are doing?

Is it the same Ododo that directed that all Government house workers that belonged to a certain Ethnic group should be all sacked and some transferred? Who you dey whine? All of them in that picture are THIEVES.

Ibadanpikin: The truth is that it will be very difficult for Obi or any igbo man to become president in this tribalistic and envious country, especially 2027.Atiku and igbo man as his vice 2027 will destroy APC no matter the rigging. The igbo man delivers southern votes, while Atiku and Tinubu slug it out in the north.Peter Obi should humble himself and become the vice or step down.
Why must is be Atiku does that means we have people who are far better than him?
