An aggrieved Nigerian lady took to Facebook to call out some Pastors for allegedly duping her mother of N2.2m with a fake prophecy.

According to Deborah Anderson, the fraudulent act allegedly perpetrated by Pastor Peter Daniel and the founder of Mountain of No Regret, Prophet John Divine, almost tore her family apart and they are still in the healing process.

She wrote;

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office on July 23, 2019 arrested nine suspected internet fraudsters at their various hideouts in Benin City, Edo State.

They were arrested sequel to intelligence gathering, which alleged that they were involved in the fraudulent internet activity known as ‘cat-fishing’.

The suspects who are between the ages of 20 and 35 are: Amafin Collins, Edafitite Abel, Usianene Elizojie, Ojiefor Marvelus, Uduehi Osumor, Geigi Emmanuel Ose, Osaro Osakpolor, Francis Omoiegbe and Onuoba Prince Nonso.

Items recovered from them at the point of arrest include luxury cars, laptop computers, mobile phones, flash drives and internet modems.

Some Special Anti-Robbery Squard (SARS) operatives got more than what they bargained for, after storming Tai Solarin University of Education to arrest a student of the institution "illegally".

In a video shared on social media, the SARS officers were spotted fleeing, leaving their car behind after a counter-attack by protesting students. The car they left behind was reportedly destroyed by students after they quelled the 'extortion-arrest' move.

Only seven women made the 43-man list forwarded to the Senate for confirmation on Tuesday by President Muhammadu Buhari as ministers

Buhari, who was returned in a keenly contested election, was sworn in for his second tenure on May 27.

The seven women on the list are: Sharon Ikeazor, Zainab Ahmed, Gbemisola Saraki, Ramatu Tijjani-Aliyu, Sadiya Farouk, Mariam Katagun and Pauline Tallen.

Sharon Ikeazor

Sharon Ikeazor was born into the family of Chief Chimezie Ikeazor, SAN, of Obosi, Anambra State, the founder of the Legal Aid for the Poor Scheme in Nigeria.

After the merger of three political parties in 2013, she emerged the interim national woman leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

She was appointed as Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2016.

Zainab Ahmed

Zainab Ahmed was born in Kaduna state. She got her first degree in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University in 1981 after-which she proceeded to Olabisi Onabanjo University for her MBA

In 2015, she was appointed as the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning by Buhari. Upon the resignation of the erstwhile Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun on September 14, 2018, Ahmed was appointed as Finance Minister in September 2018.

Gbemisola Saraki

Gbemisola Saraki was elected to represent the Kwara central Senatorial district under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party in 2003. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 1999 representing Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency, Kwara State.

The younger sister to former Senate President Bukola Saraki is an ardent supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari and backed APC in Kwara State to end the dynasty of Bukola Saraki in the state with the “O to ge” slogan.

Ramatu Tijjani-Aliyu

Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu graduated from Ahmadu Bello University with a degree in Urban & Regional Planning. She also has an M.PA in Public Administration from Nasarawa State University, Keffi and a D.PA in Public Administration, Honoris Causa, from the Commonwealth University, London.

She served as the immediate past APC National woman Leader. She is the President of African Political Parties. She is a Princess from Lokoja and philanthropist.

Sadiya Farouk

She was educated at the Federal Government Girls’ College Gusau, Zamfara State and Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Kaduna State where she graduated with a Bsc. in Business Administration (Actuarial Science) in 1998.

Between 2011 – 2013, She became the National treasurer of the CPC , and then Interim National Treasurer of the APC from 2013-2014 before her appointment as Member, All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council where she served in the directorates of election planning and monitoring, field operations, and fund raising, in preparation for the 2015 general elections which the APC won.

Sadiya was appointed in September 26, 2016, as the Honourable Federal Commissioner (HFC) of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).

Katagum is Permanent Delegate to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), a role that she has occupied since June 2009. A deputy director at the ministry of education, she occupied the office of the secretary-general of the Nigerian National Commission for UNESCO between 2001 and 2009.

The Ahmadu Bello university graduate is also the deputy chair of the board of governors of the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) and member representing Nigeria on the UNESCO executive board.

Pauline Tallen

Tallen is a native of Shendam born to the family of Kattiems. She got a degree in sociology at the University of Jos in 1982.

In 1999, she was appointed Minister of State for Science and Technology by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

In 2007, she became the deputy governor of Plateau State, emerging the first woman to be a deputy governor in northern Nigeria. She also contested to be governor of the state in 2011 but lost to Jonah Jang.

She is a member board of trustees of All Progressive Congress, and was honoured as woman of the year for her contribution to Nigeria at the 10th African Icon of Our Generation Award. She is a board member of National Agency for Control of Aids(NACA)...

Two persons have been arrested for allegedly stabbing a female student of Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Imo State at Upper-Iweka area of Onitsha, Anambra state.

The suspects, Sunday Igwe and Ede Chigbo were said to have attacked and robbed the victim,
Ubasineke Chinonye in the commercial city few minutes she alighted from the vehicle.

The Nation learnt the victim who sustained severe injuries, was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

Confirming the arrest, the Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed said the case was being investigated.



He said, “Puff Adder operatives deployed to Upper-Iweka in conjunction with Patrol team attached to Okpoko Division arrested one Sunday Igwe aged 28years of Obibiezina in Owerri, Imo State and one Ede Chigbo aged 35 years of Ozara in Nkanu East LGA of Enugu State.

“Suspects attacked, stabbed and robbed one Ubasineke Chinonye ‘f’ student of Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Imo State at Upper-Iweka in Onitsha.”

He listed exhibits recovered from the suspects to include a lady’s hand bag, Techno k7 and knife used in stabbing the victim.

The spokesperson also said four persons were apprehended by the police while attempting to rob guests in a hotel in Awka.

He listed the names of the suspects to include John Eke (35) Izuchukwu Enwelum (32) Muodilum Anthony (40) and Umadi Emmanuel Obinna (36).

He said, “There was a distress call that armed robbers in a Shuttle Bus have stormed the premises of Down Town Hotel Mbaukwu and were about to rob lodgers there in.

“Following the call, Police patrol teams attached to “Operation Puff Adder” in conjunction with operatives attached to Central Police Station, Awka rushed to the scene and arrested the suspects.

“Exhibits recovered from the suspects include a fabricated revolver pistol, live ammunition, Weeds suspected to be cannabis sativa.

“Other items are unmarked shuttle bus used by the suspects, cash sum of N60,000.00, 4 handsets, ATM Card, charms and other incriminating items.”

Mohammed added that the suspects would be charged to court after investigation was concluded.

A lecturer at the Ekiti State University(EKSU), Ado Ekiti , Dr. Olaleye Aduwo, who was alleged to have been involved in “sex for mark” scandal, on Monday denied attempting to have canal knowledge of the said female student.

The lecturer in a 29-second video that went viral about a month ago, was accused of attempting to sexually exploit one of his students for marks.

In the footage, the lecturer was tortured, harassed and dehumanized by people brought by the lady with mention.

Since the incident happened, the lecturer has kept mute on the issue, except the defence he presented before the panel set up by Ekiti State University to investigate the matter, which was gleaned through some sources provided to the closed-door interaction.

Speaking with journalists in Ado Ekiti on Monday, Aduwo, in an emotion-laden, expressed regret over the issue, which he claimed was a deliberate attempt to smear his hard-earned integrity and reputation.

He said: “though the incident came to me as a surprise and it is still under investigation. I urge members of the public to disregard any misleading information circulated on social media as such was not true.

“There was nothing about sex allegation, claiming that he was set-up to rubbish by the lady”.

Speaking further, Aduwo added: “The lady in question was more or less like a daughter and a friend to my own daughter hence, I couldn’t have asked her for sex.

“On the said day, some unknown hoodlums suspected to be cultists, numbering about 15 suddenly invaded my house along Ikere Road, Ado Ekiti through the connivance of the lady in question, to molest me.

“I had just shared dinner with my friend, Mr Allen Akinmudiro, co-inhabitant in the same flat when the incident happened around 10 pm in my living room.

“The female student in question who is a friend to my own daughter arrived the house and took part in the dinner with me and Mr Akinmudiro, but neither did I know that she had an ulterior motive.

“After the meal, the lady signalled to the hoodlums who wasted no time as they stormed my house, rough-handled me, stripped me naked right in my sitting room with my friend Allen and subjected me to serious tortures, using electric device, and they beat me with harmful objects”.

He claimed that the hoodlums came into the house with guns and other dangerous weapons, saying he had no choice than to obey their instructions so as not to endanger his life.

Aduwo noted that all efforts by the landlord and neighbours to rescue him failed as they were threatened with guns and had to run for their lives.

He maintained that the issue was a clear assault and not sex for mark as widely circulated.
