Popular rapper and record label executive, MI Abaga, has said that he will no longer speak about his running battle with his colleague, Vector.

Both artistes had been at each other’s jugulars for some time, releasing ‘diss tracks’ to drive their respective messages home.

However, when Saturday Beats contacted MI, he insisted that he would no longer speak on the issue. He stated, “I have said all I have to say on this matter on Instagram and I wouldn’t be making any statement again. I am busy with other things. For the next couple of days, I would be shooting music videos and travelling.”

Calls and messages put through to Vector were not answered, but his publicist, Tunde Badmus, told one of our correspondents, “It is not a publicity stunt. We are not fake people. We only go for genuine things. This issue started with the recording they (MI) did, in which they were throwing shades at us. But, we did not say anything. They then did another one, and that was like dragging our name in the mud, so we had to respond. Meanwhile, Vector is still working on replying MI. He asked for it, and he is going to get it.”

On if there could be a reconciliation between both artistes in the near future, Badmus stated, “I doubt if MI is going to apologise. This is hip hop and it has always been like that from the inception. If there is going to be an apology, it might be through a song; I don’t think it would be direct as such.”

Meanwhile, a PR executive with Chocolate City, Aisosa Okundaye, maintained that the inscription, ‘No Snakes’ on MI’s shirt to the BBNaija finale was a message. He said, “It is primarily what it is— a shirt. As for the message on it, if anybody believes the message is for them, they should catch their ‘sub’. People walk around with shirts that have different inscriptions every day.”

Okundaye also stated that neither the fans nor the media could bring an end to the ‘beef’. He added, “I don’t think the fans, media, or anybody else can make that decision. It is clearly an MI and Vector conversation to have. We are always just going to be spectators from the outside. On the ‘Viper’ track, MI said Vector could go ahead to do whatever he wanted, but he has addressed the issue as best as he can. Whatever Vector says now is up to him, MI has left the conversation.”

34-year-old Pastor Emmanuel of Eagles Prophetic Gospel Centre, Gombe State, has been arrested for using a hot electric iron to burn a 10-year-old boy in different parts of his body.

According to a report by Sun newspaper, the cleric claims that his victim, Daniel James, is the son of an ex prostitute who became a born again Christian as a result of a preaching outreach by his church.

“The 10-year-old boy committed a crime of stealing, which has been his habitual character. So, on that day, I took another dimension of punishment; I used electric iron to threaten him and it burnt him,” he revealed.

He added that he took the kid to live with him after the church helped his mother find a place to live and a business to sustain herself and her elder son who is 19-year-old.

“They lived close to an Almajiri School and the boy always had a problem with the Almajiris. So, I took him to live with me. I made a mistake of not reporting him to the police. .

I always report his character to the mother before I decide to punish him on my own. In the church, everybody knows me to be a very disciplined man,” the pastor said.

From being little bride and groom, from being just family friends, from being the only older person I knew to help me with the kids that would bully me in primary school, we're now husband and wife ��. My parents and hubby's were friends long before I existed this had nothing to do with an arranged marriage, because we became an item officially 2 years ago because I and my family relocated and we lost contact till 2013, thanks to FB and BBM. Just look at my dad carrying my husband in his arms not knowing he'd become his son inlaw 27 years l8r. Jehovah was definitely involved and were indeed grateful.

The attrition war between the police and commercial motorcyclists otherwise called ‘Okada’ over government’s regulation of motorcycle operations in Akwa Ibom state is yet to abate.

This is as the police and the ‘Okada’ riders clashed on Tuesday in the oil city of Eket resulting in the death of two commercial motorcyclists and the burning of a Volvo station wagon car used by the police for surveillance.

Police spokesman, Odiko MacDon SP confirmed the incident and said that 19 suspects have been arrested in connection with the fracas in Eket.

MacDon said the suspects arrested had defied government’s restriction order which allows Okada riders to operate between 6 am and 6 pm.

He insisted that the police cannot be intimidated to stop the enforcement of government’s directive.

Saturday’s incident happened just a week after the police allegedly killed an ‘Okada’ rider in Uyo which sparked off wild protest resulting in the torching of the NTA station and massive destruction of properties in the capital city.

The Nation gathered that tension in Eket reached a breaking point following an order placed by Eket local authorities restricting the operation of Okada riders to 6pm and 6am. The government had said the decision was to check the upsurge in crime in the area.

It was gathered that some okada riders did accept the restriction order and went ahead to operate beyond the government time limit.

An eyewitness Emman Okposin said the police surveillance team chased them away from the road from 5:30pm as against the 6pm deadline and that they beat his colleagues and impound their motorcycles.

Okposin said , last Sunday night one their members was shot dead by the police while chasing the operators from road.

” Last Sunday our member was shot dead in the night and the corpse has been deposited in mortuary at Immanuel General hospital , Eket.

Continuing, Okposin said the incident that caused them to revolt occurred yesterday when a policeman beat a motorcyclists and he collapsed on the spot before the victim was rushed to hospital.

He said the victim identified as Udo from Idung Udoe in the area died previous night while receiving treatment at Immanuel General Hospital , Eket.

” Our member udo from Idung Udoe in Eket died last night from injuries he sustained in the hands of police so we revolted.”

He said the youths and all motorcyclists operators took the corpse to Eket local government council and later to the area police station as the council chairman Frank Archibong was not available to address them .

Okposin said the police prevented them from entering their station and they returned the corpse to the mortuary.

He said all the cyclists and the youths regrouped and moved to police checkpoint along James Town road and burn down their patrol vehicle as policemen at the checkpoint escaped.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, has arrested one Kehinde Olumide Agbabiaka, a sales agent of a Bank.

His arrest was sequel to a petition jointly penned by the bank’s Regional Security Officer and the Cluster Control and Compliance Manager, in which it was alleged that the suspect suppressed, diverted and stole a total sum of N137,000,000 (One Hundred and Thirty-Seven Million Naira) from personal and corporate accounts of a customer in Ibadan.

Filed on August 20, 2019, the petition alleged that Agbabiaka committed the offence between January 2017 and July 2019.

The suspect, who was the account officer attached to the customer, was said to be visiting the business premises of the victim weekly to collect cash with the understanding that he would remit same to his accounts domiciled in the bank’s Challenge, Ibadan branch.

But, instead of depositing the money, Agbabiaka was said to have at different times remitted only a portion and on many occasions diverted the whole sum to personal use.

In order to cover his criminal acts, the suspect, according to the petition, would rather issue fictitious bank slips to deceive the customer that he truly deposited the sums.

This continued until the customer reviewed the statement of his account and reconciled same with the cash collection register.

It was then they discovered Agbabiaka’s fraudulent deeds, prompting the bank to put up the petition.

So far, the EFCC investigators have established a prima facie case of diversion and stealing against the suspect.

Further investigations also revealed that he had used the suppressed sums to build houses, purchase cars, invest in fixed deposits and insurance policies. .
