A 200 level Food Science Technology student of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Ondo State, identified as "Deborah ifejuwura olajide" has been killed by a hit and run driver.

Olajide, who was said to be on her home from vigil was knocked down by the vehicle in the early hours of Thursday, while her lifeless body was discovered by her colleagues.

According to a source, the driver of the vehicle who was on top speed rammed into the speed breaker mounted along FUTA junction and in the process tried to avoid other speed breakers and knocked down the girl who was walking home.

For some reason this man thought that by putting a ring on my finger he could now shape me into a mould of his own design.
I saw through it all. I'm really thankful that I did or who knows how my life would be today.

Gabriel Emmanuel Chinonso, a 400 level student at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, has reportedly died in the swimming pool of the Yankari Games Resort. .
.
He drowned while swimming in the pool on Sunday. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kamal Abubakar, who confirmed the incident, said that the Command got a call concerning the incidence.

He said that men of the Command were immediately deployed and they recovered the student, after which he was rushed to the Remee Clinic, GRA, were he died while receiving treatment.

17 passengers are confirmed dead on Tuesday after a bus they were travelling in plunged into River Siyiabei along the Narok-Mai Mahiu road, KBC reported. The Daima Connections Sacco bus is said to have been travelling to Kisii County with over 20 passengers onboard when the accident took place. Rescue teams, including the Red Cross rushed to the scene moments after the fatal crash.

According to reports gathered by nairaplus, four bodies had been recovered from the site as rescue operations continued. According to The Star, the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle trying to avoid hitting an oncoming trailer.

One person has reportedly been killed in an explosion which pulled down a storey building around Moore area in Ile Ife town in Osun state.

The incident which caused apprehension, occurred around 11.05 pm, last night. Eyewitness explained that the blast might have been precipitated by an improvised explosive device.

A pharmaceutical firm identified as Ebenco Pharmacy, was located inside the building destroyed by the explosion.

Reacting to the incident, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi said there was a dispute over the building by the family members of the deceased owner, assuring that elders of Ife at the community level would intervene over the matter.

Lagos State police on Good Friday, at the Ojuwoye market in the Mushin area of the state, arrested Benjamin Ojukwu, for selling adulterated wines.

The suspect, Ojukwu, revealed that he actually learnt how to make wines and hot drinks in China.

“I was in China to learn how to mix and produce wines and hot drinks and when I got back to Nigeria in 2015, I started my own business in Nnewi, Anambra state.

I had to relocate to Lagos to start afresh when my factory got burnt,” Ojukwu confessed. He also confessed to have been refilling branded bottles with his own products so that consumers can patronise him till he is able to promote his brand.

On how he plans to achieve his brand dream when adultrating other brands, the 55 year old suspect said he was going to achieve that after making enough profit from adultrating other brands.
