One of the contradiction of our republic is having traditional institution coinciding side by side with elected government personnel. It shouldn't be so in a country that professes republic.

India upon securing independence abolished it's "raj" system i.e monarchical institution. Today there is no king nor traditional institution in India.

Our traditional institution is one cost centre that is a drain into the resources of the State. Money that would have been plough into ameliorating the plight of the citizens are used to sustain the flamboyant lifestyle of kings.

Nigeria constitution should never capture our traditional institution. And if our traditional institution must remain, it must be under the purview of the state. The British deposed many of our kings during colonial rule. And it is even the template upon independence that the State is using to administer the Local Government at present. ATiku just wants to be noticed.
