Politics / Hon Rotimi Makinde's Reply To Critics. by itsolajide: 3:48pm On Sep 03, 2014
I write this response to clarify issues raised by a certain Kolawole from Ede (published on dailypost.com.ng) against the person of my boss Hon Rotimi Makinde, Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Ife Federal Constituency . I certainly would have loved to keep quite (as silence can be golden) but I have chosen to clarify issues instead and not allow the misinformation and venom being spewed by Mr kolawole and his likes take root in the minds of the great people of the State of Osun for whose sake Hon Rotimi Makinde has borne many losses and pain, and with whom he has shared many victories and joy. The people of the State of Osun mean so much that I refuse to allow jokers in the mold of Kolawole misguide them.

First of all, I will thank the Lord God Almighty for the recent victory of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola at the just concluded gubernatorial election. God gave us that victory and not man. Anyone who truly participated in that election would know the part played both materially and physically by Hon. Rotimi Makinde to ensure the return of Ogbeni to the state house. I do not need to 'blow the trumpet' on the sacrifices, pain, and violent attacks on him neither would I descend low as to begin to point fingers at those whom I perceive as not to have done enough for our party the All Progressives Congress and for the great people of the State of Osun. I know that God sees and He will reward every effort to serve His people. Politics for us is not just an activity but a call from God to serve men, therefore we consider the mandate of the people as sacred and any attempt to betray the choice and will of the people - in this case Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola - is an act that defiles the sacred call of God and upon which the judgement of God will come.

Now, having read the cacophony of lies and misinformation about Hon Makinde by Mr Kolawole, it is obvious that Mr Kolawole lacks common sense. It was Harriet Beecher Stowe who said that Common Sense is seeing things as they are and doing things as they ought to be done. It is very clear that Kolawole is neither seeing things as they are nor is he doing things as they ought to be done; therefore I would safely say that he lacks common sense, and I would prove my point.

The first display of ignoramus and not seeing things as they are by Kolawole is in him more or less alleging that Hon. Rotimi Makinde is a betrayer. When victory was uncertain in 2007 and abandoning ship to join the PDP was the in-thing among the political class, Hon Makinde never betrayed Ogbeni Aregbesola nor our party back then - Action Congress-, he stood firm on his convictions and beliefs. Does it now sound logical to anyone that as a sitting member of the House of Representatives he would begin to dine or ally with the PDP? Wake Up Kolawole! Apply the common sense. What on earth could warrant Hon Rotimi Makinde to render assistance to a clearly unpopular Omisore; a man whose violent disposition and hate for Hon Makinde is clearly evident to all and at the same time legendary? No one politician from Ile-Ife has confronted this notorious person as much as have been done in public and private by Hon Makinde. Both men stand apart in principles and convictions. Regardless of being his kinsman, Hon Makinde has always been at the receiving end of his several violent plots; a case in mind was the killing of five innocent persons in a church on the eve of Hon Makinde's election in 2011. Would it now be this man that Hon Makinde would support? Kolawole, Wake Up!! You surely lack clarity of sight to enable you see things as they truly are. I guess this is a calculated and deliberate attempt from mischief makers and petty jealous groups that want the seat of Hon Makinde. Perhaps upon hearing that he has began consultation to seek re-election after being prevailed upon by the darling people of Ife Federal constituency you are trying to smear the reputation of Hon Rotimi Makinde; a political reputation worthy of envy and emulation. Everyone seeing clearly do not need to be told where Hon Rotimi Makinde stands.

Dear Kolawole the second thing about common sense is 'doing things as they ought to be done' and I will give you this advice: image smearing and campaign of calumny is not the way to win elections, it is not the way of true democrats. Ogbeni did not win by doing that neither did Hon Rotimi. Elections are won through the grace of God and goodwill of the people. Learn from us. The way up is not by pulling others down at all costs. Present your plan to the people and let them make their choice. I am sure that having weighed that decent path and seeing that the people love Hon Makinde passionately and having realized you cannot beat him any day nor have any answer to his unprecedented and record breaking achievements, you have decided to follow the path of weak and defeated men by trying to malign his character. It wont work. The age long history of Hon Rotimi Makinde's integrity and ineffability in the support of Ogbeni Aregbesola is impeccable and unquestionable.

I could go on and on to reveal your dearth of common sense to the great people of the State of Osun but that would amount to dignifying your foolishness. Indeed Hon Makinde's post Osun gubernatorial election press conference which was well published in many newspapers set the record straight. If you have the capacity of mind and patience you can view the video coverage by Sahara Reporters via this link -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n35N90O0mbE

I would not want to dignify Kolawole or his content which every citizen of the State of Osun can deduce to have come from mischief makers and pay agent to smear the towering image of a true democrat and lover of the people in the person of Hon Rotimi Makinde. May Allah forgive you.

I pray you will henceforth see things as they are and do things as they ought to be done (common sense). May common sense become common to you.

Signed
Smart Oluwole,
Senior Legislative Aid to Hon. Rotimi Makinwa.

Much as I need another car to replace my Mitsubushi Montero Sport 2000 that I carelessly got the engine to overheat, the fuel-milage of this Navigator scares me. 5.4litre engine!!!!! It's gonna drink fuel like shit. If not for fuel consumption, I would have come with scanner and mechanic to check it.

I love Dragon Den - it's a great show. For any fan of the show I would recommend Duncan Bannatyne's book- it is very inspiring.

The biggest thing I've learnt about the show is - only go on the show for free advertising. Cause if you've got a good idea they will screw you with crazy % for a business you've slaved over, If you have a bad idea they will make you look like a fool on TV.

The show proves the saying money makes money!

I love your comment especially making us notice we can go for a ------- FREE ADVERT!!! ----------

What have you learnt from the programme Dragons Den. Besides what we see on TV, share lessons you have learnt so we can all benefit further.

For example, I have discovered that GOOD and DETAILED PLANNING is the foundation for a successful business, not money.

Car Talk / Re: What Makes A V6 Engine Different From Normal Car Engines by itsolajide: 9:08pm On Jul 16, 2008
Midas02:

"V6" is an acronym for an engine with six (6) cylinders configured in a V-shaped vertical arrangement over the Main crankshaft (with 3 cylinders in each bank of the engine block). All internal combustion engines are configured with certain number of cylinders, it could be 1,2,4,6,8,10 or even 12 cylinders. All of these configurations are normal and actively used in engines all over the world!. Four (4) Cylinder engines (which I am sure you are referring to as normal) are however most commonly used in cars in many parts of the world (including Nigeria) because of its balance of decent power, economy, smoothness and reliability. It must be noted that it is possible to have a six (6) cylinder configuration without neccesarily using a "V" arrangement - as a matter of fact, until the last decade the most common arrangement of 6 cylinder engines was the Straight-Six and not the V-6. Examples of cars that used straight-six engines in the last decade include; MB 260/300E V-boot (W124 series), Nissan Laurel, BMW 325/525 (up till date), Volvo 960, Toyota Cressida and Crown (up till 1992) and ,
Good judgement "MIdas02". But I was expecting these from 'Inspired M" or "Viperman". May be Midas02, Viperman, InspiredM are three fingers of the same hand, ha, ha, ha, grin grin grin

Religion / Re: Paul And Barnabas by itsolajide: 4:06pm On Jul 15, 2008
olabowale:

@Itsolajide:
Will Jesus be given from heaven, a revelation that opposes his own earthly preaching? Read Paul's preaching, again and compares it to what Jesus preached in his gospel, while he was alive! Its very convenient for Paul to insinuate whatever he wanted, knowing fully well that Jesus was never going to come back to challenge him. Note that all he preached was from his mind, including his letters, which he attributed to God and Jesus! Madness at its highest! And the Christians, in all of these generations neve caught up with the lies. Fantastic phenomina.

Arrogance. Between you and barnabas, who should know Jesus better? Between Paul on one side and the true disciples of Jesus on the other, whereby we will include Barnabas (many of you will deny this, am sure, eg davidylan, et al), who should be in authority to know Jesus better? Paul is not in the position to claim any superior knowledge and messages of Jesus, relative to the others in the opposing group, individually or collectively. Paul is nothing more than a usurper and a means of deviations.

Well, olabowale, whatever a man does not understand he certainly will criticize, and such criticism will definitely be destructive. From your writing, i need not be told that you are not a christian and even if you are you do not understand the faith at all. If you want to make distinctions between those disciples who "are true disciples" like you said ----Between Paul on one side and the true disciples of Jesus on the other, whereby we will include Barnabas (many of you will deny this, am sure, eg davidylan, et al), who should be in authority to know Jesus better?----- I will like to remind you that the Bible does not make distinctions about 'true' or 'false' disciples or those who 'know Him and those who don't'. Your creating a line of distinction clearly shows you are not at all schooled in the truths of Christianity and are one of those who trade in pettiness. Asking me who should know Jesus better between me and Barnabas proves beyond doubt your pettiness and capacity to turn the Grace of God into a statement of Theological Thesis that is subject to the judgment of the rational, weak, and finite mind of man.

My dear olabowale, my bold assertion of faith and belief in God should not be taken to mean arrogance. I have trust enough in the Almighty and the Grace of God to declare that "I know Him too well to than to draw back into unbelief" that is not arrogance.

I am part of the generation that would boldly declare His Name and His Faithfulness to this generation.

I would like to come down to your level of understanding perhaps if that would help you understand better and deliver you from the grip of satan. I will go by your assessment of "true" and "false" disciples or rather "those that were close to Jesus" and "those that were not close to Jesus". From your judgment, Peter will be among the disciples that were "close to Jesus". He was with Him through his earthly ministry, was with Him at the Garden of Gethsemane, he denied Jesus, he was restored to the faith, he saw tasted the good and bitter part, i mean he knew what it is like to be a betrayer and what it is to be handed the leadership. Let's see his comment on Paul and people like you "Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our LORD is salvation - as also our brother Paul, according to the wisdom that was given to him has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures,

In conclusion, I will borrow the words used by Apostle Peter to describe the your likes 'UNTAUGHT AND UNSTABLE PEOPLE WHO TWIST THE SCRIPTURE TO THEIR OWN DESTRUCTION'.

God me merciful un you. Amen.

Barnaba preached to apostle paul about gospel and showed him to church. Paul wrote about 16 epistle. okay, where is Barnaba`s epistle? what caused conflict between Paul and Barnabars in acts?

Your analysis is quite shallow. Barnabas did not preach to Paul. Read Galatians 1 where Paul said "The gospel I preach I received it not from man, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ".
If you are trying to introduce a 'Gospel of Barnabas' to us you have failed. We knoe Him well enough than to draw back to unbelief.
With regards to their conflict, read it up yourself in the Acts.

abasifo:

Quote Graphic Rule

[20] But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
[21] And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
[22] When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

If the prophet makes a single mistake -- if the prophet predicts one thing that does not come to pass, then that prophet has not spoken with God. So, since the Bible god botched this one, we don't have to believe a word that the Bible god says, right? Well, no, it's a bit more complicated than that -- but we've at least nullified Isaiah's claim to having been a prophet of God! According to the Bible, Isaiah was a false prophet, and ought to have been put to death. Do not pay attention to what Isaiah 53 says, no matter how impressive it sounds.

Well Mr Abasifo, I do not understand your comment. Is it that there is nothing like prophecy, cause as far as I know, Jesus gave us the true measure of prophets when He said " beware of false prophets who come in sheep's clothing, BY THEIR FRUITS YOU SHALL KNOW THEM".
Explain yourself further please.
Religion / Re: How Do You Know A Genuine Prophecy? by itsolajide: 4:33pm On Jul 09, 2008
Pastor AIO:

This is a tough one because it requires an appreciation of the subtlest aspects of religion. There are many who are in church profess and worship God with their mouths and ostensibly perform all the actions of a true disciple yet will be decieved. What am I talking about? Please further peruse these verses and pray about them:
And Jehovah said, “Who shall entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead?” And one said on this manner; and another said on that manner. And there came forth a spirit, and stood before Jehovah, and said, “I will entice him.” And Jehovah said to him, “Wherewith?” And he said, “I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.” And he said, “Thou shalt entice him, and shalt prevail also: go forth, and do so.” Now therefore, behold, Jehovah hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets; and Jehovah hath spoken evil concerning thee (1Kings 22:20-23).

and this:
Jeremiah4:10 Then I said, 'Ah, Lord God surely thou has utterly deceived this people and jerusalem saying "It will be well with thee"; whereas the sword has reached their very life.

And this:
Ezekiel 20:25Moreover I gave them statutes that were not Good and ordinances by which they could not have life.

Before you go and start waging everything you have on prophecy please first check yourself. Is God happy with you? It is not enough to perform the steps of religion outwardly. Even in Church you can hear the prophecy that will destroy your life.

Pastor AIO,
you did well. I respect your assessment of the topic. Really it is a tough one. I am personally having a battle with prophets/prophecy in my church (Celestial Church). Not all prophecy's are from God and we must walk upright before the Almighty else He Himself can plot our fall. Infact I will take a more critical look into Ezekiel 20 that you quoted.
I love the way you treated the topic. Well done
