Politics / Wouldn’t Akinwunmi Ambode Plan A Comeback With Another Party? by ItuExchange(m): 5:58am On Oct 29, 2019
Former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode performed well, especially in the areas of infrastructure. Many people are still giving positive comments about him.

However, because Lagos APC wasn’t happy with him, he was prevented from going for second term.

He’s even currently persecuted.

Now, would he have won if he was allowed to contest?

Our constitution allow him to go for second term anytime. So he can still rule Lagos for another 4 years, provided that he wins a gubernatorial election in future.

I know Ambode cannot contest on APC platform again; nor would Jimi Agbaje (even Lagos PDP), allow him to use their platform. But I know he can join other lesser known political parties – for they’ll gladly welcome him – and he can win.

Wouldn’t Akinwunmi Ambode plan a comeback with another party?

Can he ever win if he does this? Will Ambode do that?

Car Talk / Is There A Car That Can’t Be Stolen At All? by ItuExchange(m): 5:16am On Oct 26, 2019
Is there any car which thieves can not steal?

Tesla’s are about as good as it gets. There is no door or steering lock to break or pick.

They are tracked 24/7 by Tesla and / or the owner. They can be remotely disabled and many parts are VIN coded and cannot be used in other cars. Nobody has yet cracked recoding these parts.

Even if a thief disables the GPS on a Tesla, the car can be tracked and recovered by detecting where it is being charged.

Just about the only thing a thief could do would be to immediately disable both high and low voltage batteries, tow it away in a shipping container and use only body and interior parts for fixing another Tesla. The expensive drivetrain and computers would be worthless.

GBPJPY Reverses Its Sell-Off Around the Level at 130.75
OCTOBER 9, 2019 Azeez Mustapha No Comments

GBPJPY Price Analysis – October 9
In the prior session, the pair closed lower for the second day in a row, but currently, the GBPJPY displays a weakness further downside of the pair while retaining its wider medium-term outlook by temporal reversal on the level at 130.75.

Key Levels
Resistance Levels: 148.66, 137.80, 135.774
Support Levels: 130.75, 128.68, 126.54

GBPJPY Long term Trend: Bearish
In the bigger picture, the GBPJPY consolidation structure is still forming from the technical support zone on the level at 126.54 low.

A further upward move may be recorded towards the level at 146.57 and 148.66 in an extension where its resistance is glaring before completing the structure. However, the overall trend remains bearish while displaying an intact downtrend in the medium and long-term.

GBPJPY Short term Trend: Bearish
On the 4-hour time frame, its price is trading narrowly between the moving average 5 and 13 close to the key technical support level at 130.44.

As it is presently, the intraday bias in GBPJPY remains on the downside at this point where a corrective rebound from the level at 126.54 low should have completed. Meanwhile, its 4-hour RSI is bearish and pointing lower suggesting further weakness.

Travel / Are Australia And New Zealand Better Than The US? by ItuExchange(m): 3:14am On Sep 30, 2019
Is the quality of life in Australia and New Zealand better than in the U.S.?

I an American that moved here after my 44 wife of died of colon cancer after her insurance was cancelled because the renewal came due when she was being treated. I can honestly say my only regret was not moving sooner because she may well still be alive.

New Zealand is so much better that America in so many ways. No guns, no BS politics, no enemies. Excellent healthcare that is available at no extra cost than your taxes to everyone including some tourists.

The environment is far better, the people more friendly and it is absolutely beautiful. I live in a small seaside town less than a 10 minute walk to miles of beautiful swimming beaches that have no hotels, no houses or any structures. Just like it should be.

If you are considering a relocation here please leave the American white supremacist attitudes, racism and hatred for foreigners there. We don’t have it and don’t want it.

Hollywood Star Ventures Into Security Tokens

As groundbreaking innovations continue to penetrate the finance space, it is almost impossible for this innovation not to spread to other industries. The movie industry is one of such sectors currently experiencing such revolutions. This is due to the invention of distributed technologies like Blockchain, which has brought about the concept of tokenizing everything.

Tokenization is the practice of amplifying the liquidity of real-world assets. The idea behind tokenization is the same as stocks or shares, which denotes fractional ownership of stakes in a company. Anything and everything can be tokenized, and many believe it’s only a matter of time before everything is.

Daywalker Movie Fund

Award-winning actor, director, producer and martial artist Wesley Snipes, is on a bid to capitalize on this advancement with tokenization. The Hollywood actor in collaboration with Liechtenstein Cryptoassets Exchange (LCX), is planning to tokenize $25 million for a movie fund. The project is known as “Daywalker Movie Fund” (DMF) which intends to invest in Wesley Snipes and his production house, Maandi House Studios will create a medium for investors all over the globe to acquire a share in the fund’s production.

LCX plans on launching a fully compliant security token offering (STO) with the DMF, which will be represented by the DMF security token, to create a level playing field for both retail investors and Hollywood financiers.

Regulatory Perks

STOs, like initial coin offerings (ICO), provide value via a digital token. Although, security tokens, unlike ICOs, are developed with a firm foundation of regulatory due diligence. Also, security tokens represent real assets, much like shares in a company or equity in real estate while ICOs offer a token that can be utilized only through specific infrastructure.

One major characteristic that gives security tokens its legitimization is it’s time ties to regulatory governance. However, the operational construct of tokenization differs across jurisdictions. In Liechtenstein, where LCX is situated, the regulatory body passed a law dubbed the Blockchain Act. The act virtually provides an explicit legal basis for ownership as well as a safe storage of the security tokens. It also provides strict rules concerning Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.

An Increasing Demand For Tokenization

Wesley Snipes will not be the first to undertake this journey into movie tokenization. The pioneering body of the concept is tZERO, a Blockchain subsidiary of a U.S. retail company Overstock.com.

There is a rising demand for tokenized funding, considering that there is a dire need in the film industry for new avenues for liquidity. Normally, funding in the film industry comes from different revenue streams like hedge funds and individual investors from wealthy individuals. The downside to this in contrast to security tokens is that creates a situation whereby ownership of the finished product is shared with the investor.

Business / Note For Diamond Bank Customers by ItuExchange(m): 3:55pm On Sep 10, 2019
If you’re familiar with our business and services, you’ll see that we give preferential treatment to Access Bank customers.

But now, the good news is that, Diamond Bank customers can now enjoy the same preferential treatments like Access Bank customers.

It’s no longer news that Diamond Bank is now part of Access Bank. Diamond Bank doesn’t exist anymore, and all their former customers are now essentially Access Bank customers.

What does that mean?

It means, if Access Bank customers get N332/$ or N322/$ during NETELLER withdrawals, former Diamond Bank customers also enjoy the same benefits.

Foreign Affairs / What’s So Special About The United States? by ItuExchange(m): 12:43pm On Aug 29, 2019
What makes the United States the greatest country in the world and not countries like Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom or any of the EU countries?

Here is the answer offered by Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels) in “The Newsroom”.

There is absolutely no evidence to support the statement that we’re the greatest country in the world. We’re 7th in literacy, 27th in math, 22nd in science, 49th in life expectancy, 178th in infant mortality, 3rd in median household income, number four in labor force and number four in exports. We lead the world in only three categories. Number of incarcerated citizens per capita, number of adults who believe angels are real and defense spending, where we spend more than the next 26 countries combined, twenty-five of whom are allies.

I’m sure that any fair-minded person will accept that whilst being very slick this answer is somewhat duplicitous. Perhaps a more meaningful question would elicit a better response.

Travel / Is It Better To Live In Europe Than In The US? by ItuExchange(m): 5:31pm On Aug 09, 2019
Why is it better to live in the US rather than some European country?

For my wife and me, there are only 2 direct benefits we obtain by living in the US compared to our previous home in Europe:

We can jump into the car at a moment’s notice to rush to a loved one’s side, something we have had to do many times since our reinstallation in the US; [ETA in case it's not clear, this was our sole reason for leaving Europe and moving anew to the US. Second ETA because some people are still finding it difficult to parse: my wife and I were both born in the US where our families still live; while we lived in Europe, many of our loved ones either could not or were not willing to travel to see us and the frequent Transatlantic flights were taking their physical toll on us.]
We can do our grocery and pharmacy shopping any day of the week and late into the evening.
No, I’m not being snarky, those are really the only 2 benefits we perceive. Here are all the areas where we feel that we have sacrificed:

My skills and experience were valued more highly in Europe than they are in the US, so I earn less in absolute terms (though I am still relatively well-paid).3

Thanks to extensive public services such as subsidized mass transit and universal healthcare, we had considerably higher disposable income in Europe than we do in the US. (Yes, you read that correctly, despite the prevailing narrative about high-tax “socialist” [sic] Europe.)

Beyond the pure economic terms, our healthcare was extremely simple in Europe: we needed to see the doctor, we went to the doctor, unlike the US where we have to fight with the insurance process before seeing the doctor and then fight again afterwards to get the doctor’s bill paid.
Food in the US consists of two categories: what is affordable and unhealthy, or what is healthy but boring and greatly overpriced.

We miss being able to walk to useful destinations like doctors, merchants, the train station, etc. In the US we have to walk a full mile (without sidewalks of course) just to reach the outlet of our subdivision, and all that’s there is a small strip mall and some gas stations, with no safe way to even cross the street. The train station (at least we have one!) is 8 miles from home.

As a result of having to drive more often and much longer distances, and despite the fact that each individual fill-up is less than half the cost as in Europe, we actually spend more per month on gasoline in the US. We dearly miss our 5-passenger “mini-minivan”, a model that doesn’t exist in the US, that got 40 mpg in town and 50+ on the highway while being very comfortable and spacious.

We miss the social/cultural life — despite living in a small town of 15,000, there was an extremely active network of clubs, associations, and other organizations, all actively promoted by local government, across an extremely wide range of subjects and interests. We have had to work exceptionally hard in the US to find even a few similar activities, some of which we had to initiate ourselves, which was another ordeal, finding a location willing to host them — fortunately, the library in the next town is more open-minded about this sort of event than our local library.

Celebrities / Most Brutal Life Lessons by ItuExchange(m): 6:31am On Jul 20, 2019
What is the biggest life lesson you have ever learned?

If you want to know what a man is really made of, see how he behaves when he is broke.

Spending your entire life regretting is like denying there are any life lessons to be learned.
To become wealthy, you must first find something you can do without regretting your mistakes.
Happiness is the new wealth.

So many people are spending their entire lifetime chasing riches when there’s only one thing that matters — their health.

There really is nothing to life. Just a bunch of regrets that most people can’t deal with.

The fact is that most people seem to be moving forward. The truth is that most people are really driving along a highway while looking at the rear-view mirror.

All the talent in the world won't get you anywhere without hard work, determination and purpose.

Time is like a handful of sand — the tighter you grasp it, the faster it runs through your fingers.
The future belongs to those who have imagination — not those who have knowledge.
Before you came to earth, arrangements were made for your accommodation, food, education and comfort. What nobody ever told you is that you were just being set up for the battle of your life.

What are the dark sides of being financially well off that people overlook?

I’ve met a few mega-rich people in my time. Not one of them was happy. The best example was a guy I knew in Chicago. Worth about half a billion bucks, he had the penthouse suite in the apartment block in Chicago which he owned and a huge house on the water’s edge in Miami. Each location had a Porsche, a Mercedes and a super muscle car in its garage. Winters were spent in Miami, summers in Chicago. At the Miami house, the boat ramp had a 40 foot fast craft and a few water bikes.

He was built on my lines, short, stocky, a few years younger than I but going bald. When I went out to lunch with him one day, he expressed his deep worries and decisions to be made:

He was always upset at having missed a couple of deals that would have made him another $80M. I asked him what he would do with that money that he couldn’t do now and he was confused by the question;

He was worrying about whether he should get hair transplants;

He was worried that the Playboy models and centrefolds who came to stay at his house and share his bed were really attracted to him or his money; I was there when a couple of these women were there and I saw no signs that they particularly liked him, so he may have had a point;

He was equally worried that the sports superstars who were his friends really liked him or were they laughing behind their backs at his short stature;

What are the dark sides of being financially well off that people overlook?

Technology Market / When Google Will Be No More…. by ItuExchange(m): 3:25am On Jun 10, 2019
Will Google ever go out of business?

What if I told you that there was a company bigger than Google, Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft combined.

Well there was a company bigger than Google, Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft combined.

It was called the Dutch East India Trading Company, and in today’s dollar’s it was worth $7.9 trillion.

That’s like if you combined the total GDP of modern-day Japan ($4.8T) and Germany ($3.4T).

It’s truly an absurd amount of money.

Yet, like so many companies before and after them, the Dutch East Indian Trading Company eventually collapsed.

What’s my point?

Google is a big company, but it isn’t even the biggest right now and certainly not the biggest in history.

Regardless of how powerful they are right now, Google will eventually die off.
