History of Lagos sovereignty in chronological order:
1) Benin
2) Britain
3) Nigeria

And the British took Lagos from Benin around 1860, so what the hell are you talking about?
who's arguing about chronological order of Lagos sovereignty?

LeoDeKing:
From the look of things, there may not be any need for presidential election in 2027. Though, there may be formality, Nigeria need not waste her resources.

Of all what Tinubu has done so far, na dis one sweat my belle pass. Individuals now free to generate electricity at industrial scale. In addition to constant electricity in industries, Just imagine the employment this will generate.

Nigerians should never forgive anyone for insulting Tinubu by comparing him with an incompetent crook who couldn't develop a tiny village.
The bill was initially passed under 'Buhari's administration .Stop the over hyping.Let's wait and see the laws that will be initiated, passed and implemented under Tinubu's administration before we begin singing praises!

Your claim of "Lagos is Yorubaland" is just as disgusting as the Igbo claim of "Lagos is no man's land", you are both wrong and disgusting.
How do I know that you are a migrant and not an indigene ? Ask yourself how you know!
Unless you are more than 500 years old, what proof can you provide ?
I actually know the history of Lagos and the fact it was taken from Benin by the British and then flooded with slaves and other migrants, the migration continues to this day.
lolll..I see your point.Lagos belongs neither to the Yorubas or Igbos!Your history book says it was originally occupied by the Binis as a base for trading ,mind you.But they(the BinIs)were reportedly expelled OVER 500 years ago!Good..fine!

This is what I say.
If the Binis can claim ownership and claim also to be the original indigenes of an area that was used primarily as a port of entry and a base as per their trade with the British and Portuguese then so can the Yorubas and the Aworis who have also traded, lived in,governed and defined Lagos culturally for hundreds of years now.

Ibadan as 'history' says was an abode for yorubas displaced by the dahomey and Fulani warriors.Did those displaced, fleeing yorubas meet the original inhabitants of Ibadan ?I assume they must have.Did they later outnumber and maybe possibly displace the original inhabitants?obviously, they did.Are they eligible to be called indigenes.I believe you won't say they aren't.

So to to compromise on your point of argument.Iet's say I 'temporarily'agree that Lagos once belonged to the Binis but then not anymore.

But do kindly tell 'those' calling Lagos 'A NO MAN'S LAND ' to know their place.

Honestly, though I am not an 'historian' like you lol...I think logically Lagos might once have been originally inhabited by BOTH the Binis and the yorubas. For God's sake the oyo empire with its with close proximity to Lagos and its thriving slave trade couldn't have ignored a strategic location like that not while waging wars and encroaching on other territories including that of the ancient Bini kingdom itself.

You are also a migrant in Lagos !
You are turning into colonizers of Lagos given how you keep acting.
By the way, whom are the indigenous people of the USA ?
Answer my question first.Do the Indians with their large population in England and several other countries tag their host communities' A NO MAN'S LAND'?
Mind you the indians also contribute alot to the economy of their host communities. And how do you know I'm a Lagos migrant and not a Lagos indigene?

An Indian is British Prime Minister

A Pakistani is Mayor of London

Even a Yoruba man is a Mayor in Colorado

And Yet some stewpid Speaker want to pass some stewpid bill to protect his own stewpidity
Did they challenge the indigenes?Did those nationals you mentioned above tag their host state or county as a NO MAN'S LAND?
