The Gunners took the lead through Thomas Esfield for his first ever senior goal for Arsenal, assist coming from Bendtner but the Baggies equalized when their striker nodded in a cross from close range after been left unmarked. The rest of the normal time didn’t yield any goal, the additional 30 minutes couldn’t separate the sides. Hence, penalty shootout. Arsenal were successful with all their penalties except Gnabry’s. Fabianski didn’t save any but he forced two of West Brom players to fire wide. For the details, click www.arsenalinterest..com clash of the Titans.... |

Hey for a second there, I thought AW was content with Giroud and Chamakh as our two front line attackers. Then reports flew in like a pigeon to some bread that Newcastle are lining up a move for a replacement striker. Why? Well Arsenal are reportedly offering £7m for the prolific striker Demba Ba. This may or may not be an accurate representation of the speculation surrounding Michael Essien being linked with a move from Chelsea to Arsenal, but either way as yet the Ghanaian has yet to make a move away from the Stamford Bridge club. After watching the first two ManU games this season, I have many worries and concerns for the team but one bright spot for me is the acquisitions of Shinji Kagawa and Robin van Persie. The two players were both fantastic before coming to United, but together they have unlimited potential. With many other players up in the air, Rooney and his surgical issues, Berbatov feeling left out, Nani looking like he is trying way too hard to score and being a ball hog in the process, it’s nice to have at least one bright spot on the team. Defoe would be the perfect replacement for Robin van Persie, the penalty box predator to finish off all those half-chances which are currently going begging.” But, knowing the bad blood between both the clubs, it is highly unthinkable that Arsenal will embrace the 29-year-old as their own despite the fact that Defoe is one of the good finishers in English football. The 23-year-old centre back is widely regarded as one of the best young defenders in Europe, and almost sealed a move to AC Milan this summer, after leading Montpellier to the Ligue 1 title last season. A fast, athletic and versatile stopper, Yanga-Mbiwa was watched by Arsenal scouts on a handful of occasions last term, and the Gunners have continued adding to their dossier on the player this season, after sending representatives to Montpellier's 1-0 defeat to Marseille on Sunday. It is understood that Arsenal are now seriously considering making an offer for the France international, but manager Arsene Wenger is yet to give the go-ahead, as he looks at other options. Arsenal want Tiote Sources from Newcastle reports that Arsenal have already made an inquiry on the availability of the hard working midfielder. Arsenal is ready to give Tiote up to 60k pounds a week contract. Right now he is earning 40k/week. A fee of around 12-14 million pounds will definitely tempt the toons to sell him. It is expected that Arsenal will make an official bid for Tiote after their match against Stoke gets over today. Click www.arsenalinterest..com for the details and other stories. |
After a disappointing opening game against Sunderland last week, Arsenal will be looking to get off to winning ways when they travel to the Britannia Stadium on Sunday to face Stoke City. A trip away to Stoke is never an easy game as they love to play the physical side of football and when they have their fans behind them you can do very little to stop them from playing their game. So I believe that Arsene Wenger will take up the mentality of ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’ when he is selecting his starting XI. Possible Line Up I will explain my selections below. August 24, 2012 Liverpool look set to sign Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin, after Arsenal failed to agree terms with the La Liga champions on a deal. Real wanted to send Sahin out on a season long loan, but it’s believed that the Gunners wanted to sign the Turkish international on a permanent deal. Liverpool are now reported to have agreed a loan deal with Sahin, which involves no view to make the transfer permanent when temporary deal ends. The signing of the Turkish international would be something of a coup for Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers. Another Arsenal transfer target Lucas Biglia could be moving to Premier League Norwich on a season-long loan deal. Click www.arsenalinterest..com for more update. |
French midfielder Yann M'Vila is still being linked with a move to North London, and will continue to be the subject of rumours until the transfer window closes in a fortnight's time. If Arsenal are to do a deal, they will have to see off competition from the likes of their local rivals Tottenham Hotspur (see Metro). M'Vila has already rejected a move to Russian side Zenit St Petersburg after receiving death threats from Russian supporters. Real Madrid's Turkish international, Nuri Sahin, now looks the more likely deal to end in success for the Gunners. Click www.arsenalinterest..com for more info. |
