During the 2016 edition of the lagos city marathon, I made new friends and bumped into some old friends. My camera and I met with people from different: tribes, sex, race, age and the 2017 edition will be even better as the Lagos state government is putting plans in place to create two funparks that will give Lagosians the opportunity to watch one of the top 100 marathons in the world in a relaxed atmosphere with food, drinks and entertainment by their favourite musicians. The Lagos City Marathon is on its way to becoming an internationally recognised event and we owe it to future generations to build a legacy that promotes health, tourism and at the same time uniting Nigerians. If have haven't already registered for the marathon which is slated for the 11th February, its not too late just click on the following link: http://www.lagoscitymarathon.com/how-to-register/ An Ambulance and medical station will be available approximately 200 meters after each main drink station on the Marathon route at 5km, 10km, 15km, 20km, 25km, 30km, 35km, 40km and at the finish. Medics will also be present at every intermediary station. Water Stations will be provided at 2.5km,5km,7.5km,10km,12.5km,15km,17.5km20km,22.5km,25km,27.5km,30km,32.5km,35km,37.5km,40km,and at the finish. Sponges will be provided at the following stations on the Marathon route: 5km, 10km, 15km, 20km, 25km, 30km, 35km and 40km. Toilets will be provided after the following stations on the Marathon route: 5km, 10km, 15km, 20km, 25km, 30km, 35km, 40km and at the finish. Start point – The Marathon Route will start at the National Stadium, Surulere The runners go towards Ojuelegba Bridge, Ikorodu Road, (on top of Fela Bridge), towards Anthony under Anthony Bridge, under Maryland Bridge, move towards Ojota, pass by the Total Filling Station and turn right towards Alapere towards to Ogudu, go by Ogudu junction towards Oworosoki and head towards Third Mainland Bridge, after Adeniji Adele, turn right towards Ikoyi on the bridge, go through Osborne Road, turn left to Parkview and head towards Lekki/Ikoyi Bridge, at bottom of bridge, turn right to Admiralty Way, at the entrance of Lekki Phase 1, turn right towards Lekki Toll Gate, head to Ozumba Mbadiwe, go by 1004 and Radisson Blu Hotel towards Bonny Camp, turn left at the roundabout going towards Ahmadu Bello Way, go by Federal Palace Hotel, Silverbird Galleria, NTA and then Bar Beach Finish point -Eko Atlantic.
